Review of Stanley Trim Knife by
smudgeybabes
Advantages: Very goon indeed.
Disadvantages: Can be dangerous
...OK, the knife is made by the famous Stanley company, and a lot of people here will think it just a "Stanley knife". Well let me just say that this is the Daddy of Stanley knives, it is a far better example of a wonderful tool. These are larger than conventional ones, and I thought these were only available to carpet fitters, as they are far too good for us mere Mortals. Having owned a second hand example, I can recommend it for accuracy and ease of handling. The bigger handle gives more control, and they still use the replaceable small blades.
A Stanley knife, according to good old Wikipedia, is a utility knife (also called a box cutter, a Stanley knife, a razor blade knife, a carpet knife, or a stationery knife) is a common tool used in various trades and crafts for a variety of purposes. Israel and Switzerland call them Japanese...

Cuts like a (really bloody sharp) knife.
Review of Stanley Dynagrip Instant Change Knife by
tallulahbang
Advantages: Works well if used with caution.
Disadvantages: Will perform impromptu amputations if used by spackers.
...last job and therefore was in charge of all the cutting that happened in the school (I know. I can't believe I got suckered into that one either. 'Carol? You're in charge of the tea fund. Fiona? You're in charge of supervising small children with what are, effectively, dangerous weapons. Good luck with that.'). I know the rules about cutting away from the body, cutting on a firm surface and making sure your fingers are out of the way of the blade. Yesterday, though, I was tired and in the interests of getting the job done quickly I cut something out of a plastic frame by holding it up in the air and cutting down towards my body with the Stanley knife. I lost about half a pint of blood and almost the top of my index finger.
On the plus side, though, I got to go and be stitched up by a drunk and shaky-handed Irish doctor...

The sharpest knife in the draw
Review of Breville EK2 Carving Knife by
Miskah
Advantages: cuts very thinly and evenly
Disadvantages: carving style takes a while to get used to
...I like my roast meat and poultry sliced very thin and always have a problem keeping my carving knives sharp enough so this is the reason I thought I would try an electric carving knife. Initially the problem I had was the change in slicing style. With an electric carving knife, instead or sliding the knife back and forth through the meat gradually working your way down, you place the knife in position and exert a gentle steady downwards pressure until the knife slices off the piece. The knife itself creates the back and forth motion with its blade. This is the most difficult transition as the tendency to move the knife in a traditional manner remains.
The Breville EK2 isn’t my first electric carving knife; it’s a replacement for an old Russell Hobbs that had to be retired due to safety reasons. It was getting on in years...

A knife With A Point
Review of Victorinox Swiss Army Knife by
Massey42
Advantages: Sharp blades, expected host of features, Victorinox quality
Disadvantages: Reliability of electronics not proven
...This review is for a Victorinox Altimeter Swiss Army Knife. It was bought as a present so although I do not know exactly what it was bought for I have had a quick look around on the internet and standard prices seem to be around £50. This cost surprised me at first but I suppose you do get what you pay for.
Before I tell you about my experiences with this knife I will quickly outline it's features, which as expected for a Victorinox Knife is sufficiently long!
These features are taken directly from the manufacturers descriptions and I do find one or two of the features are a bit dubious, but on the whole they all function well:
1. large blade
2. small blade
3. corkscrew
4. can opener with - small screwdriver 3 mm (also for Phillips screws)
5. cap lifter with - screwdriver 6 mm - wire stripper
9. reamer, punch
10. key...

Review of the Victorinox Century Swiss Army Knife
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
freelancer1
Advantages: Sharp serrated blade, attractive design.
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind.
...I am a little bit sad. You see, I'm a pen knife anorak...
I have four of the things, and use them for camping trips, jobs around the house and those bizarre tasks that pop up from time to time (ever got a lump of chewing gum stuck to your shoe before a meeting?!?) In short - I KNOW about penknives.
Features of the Victorinox Swiss Army Century Swiss Army Knife
Serrated/Straight blade - this is pulled out from the cover by gripping a little groove on the back of the blade. It is made of stainless steel, so it won't rust, and it "locks" when it is in line with the handle. The blade is 4" long and has about 60% serrated edge and 40% straight edge. It is an incredibly sharp blade that cuts just about anything - string...

Swiss Army Huntsman Knife - Not Just For Hunting!
Review of Swiss Army Huntsman Knife by
Haxrskilz
Advantages: Plenty of tools, small size.
Disadvantages: Pricing could be considered steep, tweezers and toothpicks easily lost.
...: Do NOT test these on your skin. It will cut!).
*Tools*
This version of the Swiss Army Huntsman Knife comes with (usually) sixteen features, although this can vary. All of tools are indefinitely useful, and will cut through just about most things without breaking into a sweat. The tools include:
- Bottle opener,
- Can opener,
- Corkscrew,
- Keyring,
- Large blade,
- Large screwdriver,
- Multipurpose Hook,
- Reamer
- Saw,
- Sewing eye,
- Scissors,
- Small blade,
- Small screwdriver,
- Toothpick,
- Tweezers and
- Wire stripper.
*Finally*
I can recommend this Swiss Army Huntsman Knife, not only for hunting as it's namesake, but for many other useful things - even cutting cardboard in crafts, or removing the plastic packaging off a packet of candy. It is all round useful, especially for traveling with (in suitcase...

The Third and final Blade
Review of Blade Trinity DVD by
num13er
Advantages: One Last Blade Movie
Disadvantages: Drake not as strong a villian as the likes of Frost and Nomak
...in the beginning. Just a little disappointed his parting in this franchise wasnt a bit more dramitic, but it seemed slight fitting in a way. Lets face it not everybody cant go out in a perfect blaze of glory anyhow.
One performance i loved in this film was that of Danica Talos played by Parker Posey. Shes brilliant in this role, a vampire with an added edge much like Decon Frost did in the first blade movie. Yet she seems genuinely unstable throughout and you can never tell when shes being fully serious. She was a very strong role in this film and all of her moments on screen had her on this knife-edge of reason. A very good casting choice indeed.
Triple H as the moody muscle of the vampire menace actually suited the role very well. Thankfully ( sorry WWE fans ) he didnt perform his trademark "Pedigree" move during this film. Something other...

Knife to see you, to see you, knife....
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
colman
Advantages: Quality, sharp, well featured
Disadvantages: Mis-named range
...The Victorinox range of Swiss Army knives is impressive to say the least. When I went to buy one I was presented with a bewildering array of lethal implements withdifferent names such as the Hunter, the Waiter, the Sportsman, The Picknicker - and then I saw what I thought I would need - the CLIMBER. I do a lot of climbing in my spare time and there are occasions when you could really do with a decent kinfe to either clear some irritating vegetation or get your self out of a spot of bother (although i wouldn't recommend indiscriminately hacking at you ropes with ANY sort of knife...)
Imagine my surprise to discover that in fact CLEARLY the best knife for a climber is actually the PICKNICKER - it has a larger more useful blade, an attachment ring large enough to take a mini-karabiner and - most important of all - it can easily...

Ignore the criticism Blade Runner is a classic
Review of Blade Runner (Director's Cut) (Wide Screen) by
dreamstar70
Advantages: Good story, brilliant set design, score, "mood", intelligence
Disadvantages: acting, uneven pace, 15 minutes too long
...Blade Runner had a difficult birth some 19 years ago to the point where it was almost strangled at birth because either no one wanted to produce it or wanted to see it enough.
The original script, written by Hampton Fancher, and taken from the best-selling sci-fi book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Philip K. Dick, was turned down by all the major studios as either being unworkable or too dull to turn into a screenplay.
And even when a studio did finally take a chance with the script financing the film almost killed off both the studio and the movie itself through sheer lack of confidence by the studio backers.
On top of all that there were the infamous off-screen recriminations, arguments & alleged fisticuffs twixt English director Ridley Scott (of Alien fame), Harrison Ford (Star Wars & Indianna Jones) and most...

Cuts like a knife
Review of Neverbend Stainless Edging Knife by
ASBO2000
Advantages: light, durable, cuts effortlessly, moulded blade, long shaft, large handle
Disadvantages: price, but no a disadvantage when weighed up against durability
...Neverbend gardening tools are my favourite and I refuse to attempt to hide by bias as after many years of experience I have never come across any other tools that last as long and look as stunning today as when I bought them. Some may consider £11.99 a high price to pay for an edging knife but when you consider that the 2 previous edging knives I owned prior to the Neverbend cost £7.99 each and broke within a year or so, the Neverbend now some 3 years on has basically paid for itself with its longevity.
Purchased from my local garden centre as I have already said for £11.99 they can be bought online a lot cheaper but beware, postage and packaging will bump the price upwards of £15. When I made my purchase I was happy to pay a premium for a high quality product.
The edging knife is used to cut and shape the edges of lawns, something...
