STANSTED AIRPORT - AKA RYAN AIRPORT

...I have only used Stansted airport once, having previously used other airports including Heathrow airport and Bristol airport. STANSTED AIRPORT QUICK LOCATION Stansted airport is one of the four main airports which is associated with London (the other three being Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton). Out of the four, Stansted is the one that is furthest away from London. It is approximately 38 miles away from London, to the North of the city, just off the M11 motorway at junction 8a if coming from London or Junction 8 from the Cambridge side. WHY DO THE AIRLINES USE STANSTED? The main advantage of Stansted airport is that is has the advantage that out of the four airports, it has the lowest airport taxes which we all have to pay when travelling, and which all the airlines charge on top of the tickets that we pay to...

Marginally More Comfortable Than Sleeping in the Actual Airport

Disadvantages: Uncomfortable camp bed, slow service

...Last year I travelled to Italy with some of my family and we flew from Stansted. Our flight was really early in the morning so we decided to stay in the Radisson SAS hotel the night before. There were nine of us in total in three rooms including two children. -Arrival- Being the only one of us living in London I was the first to arrive. Getting to the hotel was really easy for me, I just took the Stansted express and then followed the signposts to the hotel. It is really well signposted and I actually found the walk there to be quite pleasant. There were rabbits all over the grass and I got very excited. They were just so cute! London Stansted Airport update

Advantages: Good Transport/modern
Disadvantages: can be full in summer(currently being expanded to eliviate this)

...I actually work at Stansted airport and so feel I am in a position to give an up to date apprasial of the current situation. First of all Travelling to the Airport. There are currently roadworks on the M11 just south of the Stansted Airport turn off(Junction 8)so allow yourself an extra half hour to an hour travellling time if travelling from the M11 London or from the M25. Parking at the Airport is slightly cheaper than at Gatwick or Heathrow.There is a long stay car park which is situated about 3/4 mile from junction 8(some 3 miles from the terminal.If you park there a free bus service brings you to the airport every 10 minutes.The short stay car park is situated at the front of the terminal with easy access to the building. LONDON STANSTED TRANSPORT

Advantages: BIG
Disadvantages: NONE

...to stop at Liverpool Street where I found a place to store the baggage. I suppose if we leave the airport in 10 min, come to Liverpool in 50 min, leave baggage in 10 min, come to Wembley in 20 min, a walk needed to come to stadium of 15 min = 1 hour 45 min without any delay. Second: This is even worse. We will be situated in Marriott Bexleyheat which is district 5. I stayed with my family once in Marriott Regents Park five years ago which is district 1-2 and I didn't pay any enought on districts attention when booked this time. So, when I realized that this hotel if far away from the tube station it was anyhow to late. But since I have plenty of time I can still prepare myself before in details. A great way to humanise an early Ryanair flight

Advantages: Stylish, very close the the airport and not outrageously expensive
Disadvantages: Not much reason to go if you aren't flying

...Stansted airport used to be like a second home to me. I worked in the joyless town of Haverhill about 20 miles away and I flew out of Stansted at least once a week for many years. It used to be a super little airport where you could turn up shortly before the flight, drop your car in the short-stay and fly off without any trouble, but as the airport has grown it's become a much less pleasant and convenient place to use. So when I discovered the best way to get to Bremen in Germany on the day I needed to go was a 6.30 am Ryanair flight out of Stansted, I decided I'd do it but only if I could stay at the airport. I think it?s one of those things you just don?t put in your mind. * Booking * You can book hotel rooms from Hilton Hotel web page or using another travel agents and their web page. I didn't need to book room because my company did it for me. Room prices are around 65 £ and up. My room was 50£ per night when two person is sharing, so I ended to pay only 25£ per night. It was my company's special deal with hotel chain. * How to get there: * Hilton Stansted Hotel is just 10min by shuttle bus from Stansted airport and its well "airport hotel" even it has whopping 4 stars!! (* * * * ) Shuttle transfers are charged at £2 per adult return (going to airport was free!!!!), children 16 or under travel free. Coach Service runs 04.00 - midnight...

...I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few. ...****Radisson SAS Hotel London Stansted Airport**** Earlier this year i stayed in this hotel and i thought it was great. **Location/Getting there** The location of this hotel is fantastic!! It is literally a two minute walk from the airport and as such is obviously the closest.Not sure how to get there by anything other than plane but i did notice that it had ample parking .If you wanted to stay in this hotel you could probably get the train to the airport and it is signposted from there. **Reception/staff** The first thought in my mind when i saw this hotel was WOW. ...Chicago airport. On a recent visit to san Diego, we had to have a stop in Chicago airport for a couple of hours...most of my travelling seems to be spent in airports! It was the busiest airport in the United States until Atlanta became the busiest and it was apparently voted best airport in North America in 2000...that's 8 years ago so i don't know which airport has been winning since then. The airport is 20 miles from downtown Chicago but since we weren't actaully going to Chicago we didn't actally leave the airport so I can't comment on the transport links. **The Terminals** Of course when stuck in an airport these are the places you see most often.
