Marginally More Comfortable Than Sleeping in the Actual Airport

Advantages: Clean, Friendly staff
Disadvantages: Uncomfortable camp bed, slow service

...Last year I travelled to Italy with some of my family and we flew from Stansted. Our flight was really early in the morning so we decided to stay in the Radisson SAS hotel the night before. There were nine of us in total in three rooms including two children. -Arrival- Being the only one of us living in London I was the first to arrive. Getting to the hotel was really easy for me, I just took the Stansted express and then followed the signposts to the hotel. It is really well signposted and I actually found the walk there to be quite pleasant. There were rabbits all over the grass and I got very excited. They were just so cute! London Stansted Airport update

Advantages: Good Transport/modern
Disadvantages: can be full in summer(currently being expanded to eliviate this)

...I actually work at Stansted airport and so feel I am in a position to give an up to date apprasial of the current situation. First of all Travelling to the Airport. There are currently roadworks on the M11 just south of the Stansted Airport turn off(Junction 8)so allow yourself an extra half hour to an hour travellling time if travelling from the M11 London or from the M25. Parking at the Airport is slightly cheaper than at Gatwick or Heathrow.There is a long stay car park which is situated about 3/4 mile from junction 8(some 3 miles from the terminal.If you park there a free bus service brings you to the airport every 10 minutes.The short stay car park is situated at the front of the terminal with easy access to the building. Advantages: BIG
Disadvantages: NONE

...to stop at Liverpool Street where I found a place to store the baggage. I suppose if we leave the airport in 10 min, come to Liverpool in 50 min, leave baggage in 10 min, come to Wembley in 20 min, a walk needed to come to stadium of 15 min = 1 hour 45 min without any delay. Second: This is even worse. We will be situated in Marriott Bexleyheat which is district 5. I stayed with my family once in Marriott Regents Park five years ago which is district 1-2 and I didn't pay any enought on districts attention when booked this time. So, when I realized that this hotel if far away from the tube station it was anyhow to late. But since I have plenty of time I can still prepare myself before in details. A great way to humanise an early Ryanair flight

Advantages: Stylish, very close the the airport and not outrageously expensive
Disadvantages: Not much reason to go if you aren't flying

...Stansted airport used to be like a second home to me. I worked in the joyless town of Haverhill about 20 miles away and I flew out of Stansted at least once a week for many years. It used to be a super little airport where you could turn up shortly before the flight, drop your car in the short-stay and fly off without any trouble, but as the airport has grown it's become a much less pleasant and convenient place to use. So when I discovered the best way to get to Bremen in Germany on the day I needed to go was a 6.30 am Ryanair flight out of Stansted, I decided I'd do it but only if I could stay at the airport. I didn't need to book room because my company did it for me. Room prices are around 65 £ and up. My room was 50£ per night when two person is sharing, so I ended to pay only 25£ per night. It was my company's special deal with hotel chain. * How to get there: * Hilton Stansted Hotel is just 10min by shuttle bus from Stansted airport and its well "airport hotel" even it has whopping 4 stars!! ...airports is interspersed with shops and mostly eating and drinking places. Next to my gate there was even what looked like a small eating complex with different types of bars and restaurants through an archway and all clustered together. **Verdict** A very big and quite bewildering airport where everybody but me seemed to know where they were going. There are lots and lots of eateries, the whole place is light and airy and clean, but at the end of the day it's an airport and thankfully it got me from A to b with minimum fuss and no delays.
