A New Beginning, A New Future?The New Star Trek

Advantages: 127 mins of sheer warp speed adventure. The best Star Trek ever an outstanding movie

...Someone told me the other day that ?People who like Star Trek are nerds!? The ensuing conversation brought up words like geek, weird, odd and resulting in my colleagues announcing that I am on another planet; with a black hole for a brain. It really gets on my goat when a handful of tactless people make those daft sorts of comments. Star Trek - Alternately Outstanding

Advantages: Fantastic Action and spills, the effects are amazing and will pull in new fans

...Star Trek.... well... first of all... I have not even seen the tv series (original or the next frontier) or have i seen ANY movies. (well 1/4 of a movie and i'll say.... i got parts of the movie i saw but not much (FYI it was Star Trek: Nemesis). Moving to my point.... Star Trek.... Was.... The Worst film if you dispised all actions and thrillers, but one of the BEST films of the decade if you love actions and thrillers like me! Star Trek But Not as We Know It - Could it be better!?

Advantages: Up to date, story, excellent acting and special effects.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.

Star Trek, maybe it should have been left alone

...I was a bit wary of watching this film, because I really enjoyed the later Star Trek films, and wasn?t sure a prequel was a good idea. Synopsis The story follows James Kirk from the events of his birth and his yearly years, but mainly concentrates on his first voyage on the Starship Enterprise. It also follows the life of Spock and how he was an outcast both on Vulcan and Earth due to his mixed parentage. Spock as we all know also ends up on the Enterprise. Early in the film Kirk is accused of cheating on a test, and during the enquiry a distress call is received from Vulcan and Starfleet respond by sending off the fleet to investigate. Despite the fact Kirk is suspended he sneaks on the Enterprise as it heads off. The ship is being run by all new recruits apart from the captain, so it sets off later than the rest...

A great Star Trek for everyone!

Advantages: Transparent illuminum
Disadvantages: The dreamy weird bit when they travel through time

...option here and what it is trying to help us understand are the long term consequences of our current actions with the environment and nature around us. The film is also special because we have Spock back with us...and it's good to know that he, his wit (without realising it) and friendship with Kirk will last for a long time after this film. I think one of the reasons this film did so well was because it did not focus entirely on space and battles with Klingons, it brought Star Trek down to a level that everyone could watch and enjoy. 'I bet you are from outer space'... 'No, I'm from Iowa...I only work in outer space'. Brilliant! Summary: A great family trek fest...

...One day last week i was in my local shop getting my usual daily stock of cigs and chocolate. I was just about to leave when it caught my eye. Star Trek Voyager - It needed a better ending

Advantages: Sometimes hits the heights of the original series
Disadvantages: Can get a bit annoying at times

...Star Trek Voyager goes up and down in my affections as a version of Star Trek, the programme is different from all the other Sar Treks in that in the very first episode the ship is catapulted to the delta quadrant by a myserious force called the Caretaker who then dies, the ship is sent along with a marque (bandits) ship which was the original focus of the mission. The two ships soon realise that too get back to Earth they must come together under one ship and one commander, the captain of the Marque ship becomes voyagers second in command and its revealed that several members on both ships are in fact spies.
