...Back in October 2001, whilst trawling through another days useless emails. I stumbled across one that caught my eye ?3 books for £3!? it said (Postage & Packaging EXTRA in very small, small print!) Now, I have never been much of a reader and mostly buy books to prop up wonky furniture. But this seemed like a bargain not to be missed. For only a few pounds my furniture would be level for years! So, curiosity aroused, I clicked on the provided link and was presented with the TSP website. Having had trouble with these types of club before, I was very wary of the terms and conditions. But to my amazement, not only could I purchase these items at bargain prices, but also I did not have to buy anything off them again? EVER! This is unusual, as most book/video clubs require a certain amount of items to be purchased over a certain period of time...

...I joined TSP (The Softback Preview) back in the beginning of last year. I was quite shocked when I saw the deal. It was three books for £3! (no mention of the postage and packaging which is extra) That is something that is rare and very unusual these days, such a money saving offer. I then looked at the commitment side of the club and there was no commitment, I was truly shocked, because book clubs always offer these excellent offers and then catch you out by getting you to buy 4 or 5 books in the first year. Which in the end means you have paid back for the books you got ‘free’ in the first place. When you buy the books you do have to pay for postage and packaging that makes the books a bit more expensive, but there is still a considerable saving. TSP great deal......... mayby

...I kept seeing TSP being advertised, and thought what a great deal a choice of 3 books for £3.00. The choice is of books is a bit limited, but I managed to find 3 books. The AA map, King of Torts and Th Motleyfool guide. So I have got my moneys worth. Also there is no commitment to buy. You can cancel after 6 months. Each month they send you a letter with a recommended book and you can either post, phone or use their web site. So I choose to use the web site and cancel my recomended book. Although I done this I still received the book and it would cost me money to return the book as they said I had not cancelled the book. After quite a few calls and emails, they agreed for me to return the book free of charge and suggested that if I wanted to cancel future recommended books that I should call instead. I have since cancelled my membership...

  Rock Star

Advantages: Well thought out story
Disadvantages: sometimes shallow

...seemed very surprised and gave me a funny look when I told her it was for me that worried me for a start. The story was interesting because firstly it centred on the lives of three very different contrasting characters that, only shared a wonderful talent. It was fascinating to see what happened to them as the novel went chronologically through all the highs and lows of their lives, all the main developments that went to make them all Rock Stars. Yes in some ways it was shallow, the way these fortunate people enjoyed such a lavish lifestyle. Full of beautiful young men and women who?s only leisure time pursuit seemed to be having sex. Luckily these scenes were not too graphic in the author?s descriptions of them; instead she left quite a bit of it to your own imagination which was fine by me. ..."Stars" by Simply Red is quite simply one of the best albums in UK history. When "Something Got Me Started" was released in 1991, nobody could have guessed that the forthcoming album "Stars" was going to be so huge. It almost feels like a greatest hits collection in itself - even the album tracks seem to be played endlessly in shops - and it's hard to remember a time before it was released in some ways. Mick Hucknall went for an image change - check out the long hair on the front cover - and the album had a very poppy feel that grabbed the attention of non-fans and reaffirmed the devotion of Simply Red's more zealous followers. It's probably the last time Mick's work had a "band" feel to it and it's all the better for it. It was the biggest album between 1992 and 1993 and deservedly so. Star Trekkin Across the Universe!

Advantages: excellent story and acting, amazing effects
Disadvantages: Uhura and Spocks relationship

...a bit of a rebel but also a genius and he faces the task of joining Star Fleet and following in the footsteps of his father. Also at Star Fleet is a young Vulcan called Spock who is also a genius and for some reason the two have a dislike for each other. When training at Star Fleet all the cadets get tested as a lightening storm and distress signal is heard from the Vulcan planet. Kirk is not allowed to go as he is facing a trail for supposedly cheating on a test Spock created but his loyal doctor friend Bones gets him on board and it is a good job he did as Kirk remembers the stories about the day his father died and how it was claimed to be a lightening storm and distress call which got his ship destroyed and Kirk does managed to alert Captain Pike to this.
