Lego meets Star Wars

Advantages: The most fun that can be had with lego

...At the end of last year, I found myself at Heathrow armed with a PSP, a flight ticket to Australia and plenty of time to kill on an aeroplane. In an attempt to ward off the potential boredom of a twenty hour flight, I purchased 'Lego Star Wars II - The Original Trilogy' having previously been addicted to other Lego style computer games on other consoles. Once the seatbelt signs had been extingiushed, I pulled out the PSP from my bag, inserted the disc and rushed through the menus to start playing (instructions can always be read later!). The game starts with you playing the Princess Leia character (in Lego form, naturally!) at Mos Eisley cantina which will be familiar to anyone who is a fan of the films. This is a 'safe' location, where you can run and jump around and experiment with shooting up tables and chairs with your gun...

Lego Star Wars II - where has 2007 gone?

Advantages: Co-Op storyline, well everything really its Lego & Star Wars :)
Disadvantages: Complete loss of social life

...the interaction of both sets of characters. The story flows extremely well, and even though like the first game the plot has been re-written a little to accommodate the Legoness of it all it doesn't make a difference to how you perceive the films. Nothing is detrimental, if anything it adds to Star Wars franchise's charm by poking fun at itself on multiple levels - both adults and children can take different types of amusement from the game which in my opinion helps enrich the Star Wars experience. The strange thing about it all is that it isn't strange at all! I feel completely adult about it when I am running about as Chewbacca pulling people's arms off with little popping noises accompanying my Lego GBH. I get completely dragged in, even though I know the story line inside out the game takes it even further. You go deeper into Dagobah...

It's Lego...It's Star Wars...It's Awesome!

Advantages: Never-ending fun for all ages

...After reviewing Lego Star Wars the video game, with some input from my little boy, he then asked me "why are you not writing about Lego Star Wars II? It's better?" Hmm?..Well that's his opinion and so here's mine?. Pretty much everything in this game is made of Lego bricks (sorry to state the obvious!) and just like the first game there is no spoken dialogue throughout the game, just gestures (even the most famous moments in the film.) After the first game being such a success you might think a follow up game would be hard pushed to come close. But the first game was based on the 3 prequel films, and so Lego Star Wars II is based on the 3 sequel films, which are the originals (and best in my opinion) - The first of which is 'A new hope', the second is 'The Empire strikes back' and the third is 'Return of the Jedi'.
