Choc Starfish

Advantages: catchy and accessible rock
Disadvantages: too commercial, see op

...I was impressed with Significant other, And saw them as a kind of cult band at first, no national station would think of playing them and nookie was a perfect fusion of Rock and Hip Hop. Break Stuff a great raw head banging anthem (despite its controversial affiliations with the Woodstock disaster). I bought Choc Starfish because of the good impression Sig other left me. Although I knew Limp was already selling out by doing the theme for MI: 2. I do enjoy listening to this, the production and sound quality is good, and I like the trademark hip-hop metal sound. But the album essentially lacks originality, lyrical intelligence (Fred Durst is so dumb!) and variety. Starfish Poem

...This has been my favourite poem for as long as I can remember. I used to work in a residential home for foster children. Kinda like an in between home before they were placed back at home or in a foster home. It could be a very rewarding job, it could also be very stressful and soul destroying. It's Certainly Limp

Advantages: 'Hold On' and 'Take A Look Around' are fairly good, musicianship and guests are better than I expected
Disadvantages: Apart from having to listen to it? - Fred Durst is annoying and untalented, the album is bland and unoriginal, this stuff sells!

...Durst in particular. For the purposes of this op, however, I want to confine myself to their latest album ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water'. It’s probably their worst album (not just in my opinion, but that of my brother, who is a fan) but I chose it because it would probably be the best known to fellow Ciao-ers. Before I begin I’d like to admit that I am slightly biased (in case you hadn’t noticed) but the point of this site is, of course, opinions and it’d be pointless if they were all good. My Generation

Advantages: Buy the CDs now before the Bizkit's are twice as popular and %50 more expensive.
Disadvantages: Not all the tracks are as good as "My Generation" and "Take a Look Around"

...Limp Bizkit have gone from strength to strength. Good! I don?t care why quality music (hard rock and upwards) is in revival. Korn thinks it was their work, but I think Limp Bizkits did a heck of a lot of good with their cover of "Faith" . Now, I have a sneaky suspicion that there are two styles of "Chocolate Starfish" albums. Checking through Ciao I could find to separate entries - one for "Chocolate Starfish and the hot dog flavored water" and another for "Chocolate Starfish & The Hot Dog." The important thing to say is that my one (the first) comes with this really neat bonus CD which features "Faith" as well as some groovy CD-rom stuff! Make sure you buy the bonus album! The music? Now I Know Why You Want To Hate Me

Advantages: Underneath that cariactured whiny-white-boy exterior, there lurks a mighty fine band
Disadvantages: Excessive bad language, a lack of real variety, rather vacuous lyrics

...It needed Take A Look Around - their overhaul of the seminal Mission : Impossible theme tune for last summer's Woo-Cruise blockbuster M:I-2 - to break them in Britian, but 6 months later Limp Bizkit have well and truly emulated the level of success they've been enjoying in America for some time now. Chocolate Starfish & The Hot Dog Flavored Water is a wilfully brattish record, as vocalist Fred Durst and co. come on like a posse of whiny frat boys with Kingsize fries on their shoulders.
