Lego City Police Station - 7744 - Great addition to lego fans!

Advantages: Assembly in stages, easy to follow for older children/adults
Disadvantages: Base a bit floppy for moving the police station around

...My son got this Lego City Police Station for his 8th birthday. We paid £48.89 from Argos for it. It took me and my husband quite a while to help my son build it. But the end result was great. It comes in one box. Within the box are smaller bags. All the bags are numbered and all have a booklet inside for the particular part of the police station/vehicle. None of the items were missing, there were a few bits over though, which come in handy for the lego box! It is really easy to follow (for an adult), but I don't think my 8 year old would have had the knowledge or patience to build it himself. Some children his age probably could, but I'd say any child would probably need a bit of help from an adult. I think it's quite nice to have adult and child building something together anyway, so this isn't a disadvantage in my eyes! My...

The Station Agent

Advantages: excellent writing, acting, direction...
Disadvantages: none.

...The Station Agent is an extraordinary film for a number of reasons. The first is that it is stunningly simple in story and script and yet intriguingly complex in theme and emotional resonance. The second is that it has a strong social conscience without a hint of condescension. Everyone! To your Station

Advantages: More experimental but doesn't stray too far from their first album
Disadvantages: Good songs but the album structure needs to be worked on

...guitar work and piano work, with a steady and subtle back work from drums and bass. Harper Lewis: This leads us back into familiar territory with Russian Circles, a heavy bass riff and a heavy consistency of tom toms on the drums, are the beginning of 'Harper Lewis', then comes the nice guitar picking and fuzz of guitar, with the small heavy guitar chords added in, until, eventually, it spill over and a mighty blast is (finally) pouring out of your speakers of pure hard rock. The song comes back down again and mellows, slightly, with a more consistent use of the whole band working together, and then eventually outing with the drums. Station: My favourite of the album, all I can say for this song, is 'drum bliss'. The clash of symbols intro this song and the driving pull on/ off of guitar and bass set the pace for this song...

...Hi today i will be reviewing BBC Radio 1. I usually listen to Radio 1 at night as its something to do while trying to get to sleep (not a bad thing!). I personally enjoy the Chris Moyles Show and Scott Mills mainly because I find Chris funny and Scott has some great features from the old angry pizza man wind up to the new Whats Becky's Forté which features Becky the Assistant Producer trying to find that talent she excels at. The Chris Moyles show is different than most other shows on Radio 1 in that its not just the presenter that gets involved the whole team have a great time and in turn help you to get ready for whatever your going to. Review of Real Radio Scotland

Radio 2 -- Easy Listening With Style!

Advantages: Diverse shows that appeal across the spectrum
Disadvantages: The mix can be a little strange at times.

...I always find it surprising as to the diversity of Radio 2, the schedule on any given night could contain a short half hour program about Folk music and another night a program about Theatre organs can be heard, I have listened to both and realised there is more to life than listening to such stations as Happy FM (or Capital) that tend to play the same record over and over again every two hours. Besdes these stations appear to be aimed at someone about 15 years younger than myself anyway. Radio 2 on the other hand caters for people of my age and boy they certainly deliver, I always tend to be in the car coming home or going somewhere when Elaine Paige is broadcasting. Sometimes the journey can be from hell at worst and other times just damn right boring. So to experience the diversity that Radio 2 offer on a Sunday is a bonus...

Ideas above his station

Advantages: Good characters, an excellent cast
Disadvantages: On the slow side, not much action or even plot

...Thomas McCarthy has given us "Meet the Parents" and "The Guru" - both enjoyable movies, but his "Station Agent" is a notch up on the two of them. It's more of an offbeat movie, along the lines of something like "Palookaville" or "American Splendor" - it's an affectionate portrayal of the weirder, and hence more interesting, characters. At the same time, they are quite real, and believable (unlike in "Meet the parents or "The Guru", where we were presented with celluloid stereotypes). No this is altoghether a more subtle movie from McCarthy. The story of "The Station Agent" is set in New Jersey. Peter Dinklage plays Finbar McBride, or Fin, as he prefers to be known. He's a short guy, a dwarf in fact, but hates talking about it, is sick of the treatment he's had over the years, and his solution has basically been to cut himself off...
