...This is an upper to middle of the range corded steam generator iron. It has all the standard functions you would expect with a modern iron and the steam jet is particularly powerful. It irons very well, I used to spend ages ironing until I bought one of these and a new board and now I get it done in half the time - it's amazing what a difference a decent iron makes! Overall the iron is sturdy and seems well made. The cord is a bit thick and can get twisted which is a minor irritation. One thing I would say is that it's very noisy! In fact, it scares the s*#t out of my dog! Also, it is quite a bulky and heavy object to shove away in a cupboard - nobody wants to look at the iron when they're not using it! ...I managed to buy this for £15 at Wilko, and I am glad I did not pay any more. I couldn't see any difference to my sink and it had no effect on the tile grout or the small area on the floor I tried. I am hoping for better results on the loo. I only tested a small area of glass (worried about cracking the glass) and it did get the water/soap marks off although the window squeegee provided is not very good, but with my own window squeegee I was happy with the result. The steam is good for softening dried on food particles. I was however very pleased with the clothing attachment, that did a really good job. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I found that you could only use the steam for around 2 mins before the steam "power" had reduced and you have to wait until the light goes out again to build up another head of steam. So when they returned yet again (but thats another story) it was with the idea that why dont you use a steam cooker Mum as it is easier, healthier and vegetables taste better. So I bought a Prima Steam Cooker Model PRS005 from Tescos for £9.99. Why did I buy this one? To tell the honest truth it was the price because I thought if I couldnt handle it or didnt like it I wasnt wasting too much money. I was in for a big surprise. It comes with a base with a reservoir in it for the water. You have a maximum level which you fill up to. ...I don't know about you, but I hate ironing...in fact I absolutely, positively detest it! It's such a common occurance to stare in dread at the ever growing mound of clothes, bed linen and other crumpled garments that patiently await the ironing board shouting "Iron me! Iron me!". You see a large steam train powering its way through a snowy, wintry landscape! You also see a double-headed train racing towards a very modern looking railway bridge. The next scene shows a tiny locomotive still working hard in Cuba. And these are only the tasters of what is to come!
