Steam dream or nightmare?
Review of Carmengirls.com Steam Dream 3-IN-1 10878 Carmengirl by  Crazykurst

Advantages: 3 different attachments
Disadvantages: water and electric!! The straighteners are not too good

...My step Daughter came home from her Nan's after Christmas with a nice little set called steam dream. This has three attachments to do different things with your hair. As she is only ten years old and I didn't want her to burn anything I thought I would check them out first before letting her use them at her own will. My First thoughts They are pink! Ok for a little girl, hang on there is a small container of water on the end, I don't like the look of these from the start, electric and water do not mix well. So I decided to plug them in a see if they would burn the carpet if left on its side. Well the answer to that was no I don't think they would, the metal plates are tucked away inside the casing but as I picked them up water dripped from the end. I decided against letting Jazmin use them at her own will she would have... Read review

multi purpose steam gun
Review of Steam Dream by  cgibson

Advantages: Easy to use, steam cleaner
Disadvantages: none

...I decided to buy a steam gun after I saw the tiles in my bathroom were a bit grubby. So I flicked through my freemans catalogue and found a one. It didnt say what make it was, it said; simple one hande operation, control the steam projection at you fingertips with our unique trigger action, use indoors or outdoors, lightweight. It was priced at £39.99. So i decided id try a one, so i got straight on the web site and ordered a one. Two days later it arrived, I took everything out of the box, it had a lot of accessories for different things. I read the instructions and it seemed easy enough to use. On the box it said it cleans; upholstery, bathroom and kitchen tiles, hobs, windows, mirrors, sanitises bathrooms, food preperation areas, pillows, bedding, pet sleeping areas, kills dust mites... STEAM CLEAN - WHAT A DREAM
Review of Electrolux Enviro Gun Steam Cleaner by  allyb2003

Advantages: You will run out of things to clean
Disadvantages: Steam only lasts about 20 mins

...I borrowed this from my mum last week and now I want one. Its made by Electrolux and comes with a number of attachments to get into awkward places around the home. The steamer itself is quite small thought it holds quite a lot of water. It is yellow in colour and has a light to tell you that its on. It is on a very long lead and has a should carry strap. You fill the water reservoir with the funnel and measuring jug provided which will give you a full load. Screw the top back on tightly. This top acts like the top on a radiator in a car, so when the water runs out (no more steam) you have to be very careful when you go to re-fill it as when you open it it will hiss. Wait about 3/4 mins then you can unscrew it completely and re-fill it. Some of the accessories that it comes with are: Small nozzle with brush end... Read review

Avent steam dream
Review of Avent Electric Express Steam Steriliser by  lorna_call

Advantages: Durable, does what is says
Disadvantages: None

...I have an Avent Express Steam Steriliser and it is great, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to buy a steriliser. I have three children, 7, 4 and 7 months. I bought my Avent Express Steriliser when I had my second child, now he is 4. I am currently using the steriliser for my baby, so the steriliser has lasted me for 2 children with a significant gap between. When I have finished with it I will be passing it on to my sister, her baby is due in June. This steriliser couldn't be more easy to use. Basically I wash out the bottles and rinse them, then put them into the steriliser, put in the required amount of water, 90mls, switch on the steriliser and leave it to work, it usually takes between 9 and 12 minutes to complete the cycle. I use Avent wide neck bottles and this steriliser holds 6 wide neck bottles, the teat... Read review

Something to get steamed up about
Review of Polti Vaporetto 2400 Steam Cleaner by  patriciat

Advantages: No need for chemicals or detergents
Disadvantages: Flimsy construction

...My first introduction to the Polti Vaparetto was at Downtown Superstore, Grantham. Lincs. I was having a browse around and came across a demonstration of this steam cleaner. This machine cleaned everything imaginable and it was all done by steam with no addition of detergents and chemicals , thus sterilising as you go. When the lady demonstrator got to the ironing part she was suddenly enveloped in clouds of billowing steam and when it came to ironing shirts, she just hung them on a hanger and pointed the iron at them and, viola, creases dropped out as if by magic. I am a demonstrator's dream as I only have to look and I see, I lust, I crave and if cash permits, I buy. As this machine cost £349.99, I didn't have enough loose change in my pocket (OK, truth be told, I didn't even have it in my bank account) buying... Read review

DREAMS BEACH HOTEL, SOUSSE, TUNISIA
Review of Dreams Beach Hotel, Sousse by  auja

Advantages: Clean, Right on the Beach
Disadvantages: Need transport to get to Sousse or Port El Kantoei

...We stayed at the Dreams Beach Hotel in May 2007 for 1 week half board and we (family 2 adults and 3 children ages 14, 12, 11) had a great time. ROOMS Our rooms were spotless, A really friendly girl came in everyday and cleaned the rooms (she changed the bed linen 4 times in the week we were there which is pretty good compared to some hotels In Tunisia Im told) A really nice touch was that she folded our nightwear into lovely butterfly shapes ( a bit like origami but with clothes) A couple staying in the hotel did complain about thier rooms (they were on another floor from us) but we couldnt fault ours. The shower was hot at all times of the day and the toilet was clean.. Facilities are sparse (no internet access in rooms, no drink making facilities etc but there are electric sockets and plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space... Read review

Steam Your Way to Crease Free!
Review of Philips GC7220 Pressurised Steam Generator Iron by  lel1969

Advantages: Quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: A bit bulky and a bit expensive

...I was lucky enough recently to be asked to test the Philips GC7220 Steam Generator Pressurised Ironing System. To be quite honest I had never heard of a steam generator before. As ironing is my most loathed household chore an iron is an iron and not really something I spend time looking at in shops or researching on the internet, but when I was offered this to try out and told it claims to make ironing easier and possibly cut down ironing time by 50% then I thought I would give it a try! A Bit About The Steam Generator Pressurised Ironing System The Philips GC7220 is blue and white in colour with a stylish easy to use, lightweight iron. It uses 3.5 bars of powerful steam pressure, which release 80g of steam per minute. The steam generator, which is approximately W 9" x L 16" x H 7" should first be filled with water before... Fred Dibnah's Age of Steam DVD
Review of Fred Dibnah - Age Of Steam DVD by  Martinscholes

Advantages: Wonderful
Disadvantages: None

...Fred Dibnah's Age of Steam DVD is another exceptionally good TV programme released on DVD that carefully reflects and capture's Fred Dibnah's love of steam and his respect for the engineers who made steam not only a possibility but a living and breathing reality before, during and beyond the Victorian era. As anyone who knows of Fred Dibnah will be able to testify, Fred Dibnah has had a special fascination for all things steam since his childhood growing up in the Northern industrial town of Bolton, Lancashire. In Bolton if cotton was King, the steam must assuredly have been his Queen or consort. Fred's respect was made manifest by the fact that he carefully and expertly restored steam engines not only for himself (his Aveling and Porter traction engine for one) but also for friends and later for commercial clients. Although... Read review

Steam Buggy - No Substitute for Elbow Grease
Review of Tri Star Steam Buggy Steam Cleaner by  dragz

Advantages: small machine, easy to use
Disadvantages: only 1/2hr worth of steam per use

...This revolutionary cleaning system can be used in just about any room in the house for just about anything! The Steam Buggy lets you clean your house with just ordinary water and the power of steam! Or so the advertisement told me and as I’m a sucker for gadgets and gizmos I bought one for the princely sum of £97.99 inc. postage and packing. This was much to the dismay of my other half who believes that there’s no substitute for elbow grease and a lot of sweat. There are a few jobs around the house which I hate, two of which are cleaning the oven and cleaning the windows. I was hoping that the Steam Buggy would help me glide through these problem areas without too much hassle. After filling the Steam Buggy with water and waiting what seemed an absolute age, well 8 minutes, for the machine to start spurting out... Read review
