...People don't understand how you can spend £30 on a knife. That's until they've seen one being used. The Boots branded knife is pretty low down on the Sabatier range, but unlike many knives I've owned, mainly stainless steel, this one gives you virtually a razor edge when you sharpen it, doesn't flex like really nasty knives and basically slices through most things like, well, a knife through butter. Yesterday, after a little while sharpening it, I found myself cutting through a chunk of frozen chicken. Can't say that for you £5 knife, can you?... Read review

Advantages: Best pans you will buy.
Disadvantages: A bit pricey

...I have been in the catering industry now for 9 years and i am yet to find pans better than the Stellar range. Non stick they are not! but high quality stainless steel - You will have to try hard to stick something to these pans. All the Pans have a thick base to help evenly spread heat while cooking. Fab. The lids also cary the high quality finish of the pans. They fit well and are well made with no screws in the inside of the lid. Handles also well fixed and designed not to get hot while cooking. If you want pans that can stand the test of time then Stellar is what you want. I have had mine for 4 years and they still look good. Although exspensive it is posible to find Stellar cheeper in sales i got a deep casserole pan a lid and a shallow pan in the sale half price(at a large well known department store) This is how i brought... I already have a good set of Sabatier knives – expensive, dependable, and perhaps rather dull. I’ve been tempted before to have the odd dalliance. My filleting knife, for example, would make Rambo look good, with its flexible retractable blade. Advantages: Ideal powerful processor

...We recently bought a Magimix 3100 for a stormingly good price at John Lewis - just £79.99. Sadly they have recently up'ed the price to come in line with most places, where it is generally £125 ish. The Magimix is a great foor processor. Its a direct drive processor, with the motor located under the processing bowl, which means great rotational force can be delivered directly to the cutting/chopping head. (Unlike many food processors which are belt driven and have the motor house alongside the processing bowl, which reduces the effectiveness of the processing power.) It comes with a razor sharp Sabatier cutting head, dough hook and dual-sided slicing/grating disc. There is an egg whisk, but it is mounted on a down-gearing device so it is too slow to be effective for whipping cream, egg whites etc. Hence, you will need a hand whisk... Read review

Advantages: Efficient, powerful, practical, flexible, solid and reliable.

...This is a very serious food processor. You only have to look at it to know that. It's not particularly pretty, it's squat and purposeful. The base is almost square with gentle curves. There are no flashing lights. The only controls are 3 chunky buttons. On, Off and pulse. It's not ugly, I'm not saying that. It's serious. It's here to do a job, not to show off. So how well does it do that job? I find it's very good. Magimix boast of Sabatier hand sharpened blades. I don't know too much about Sabatier blades, but they just whizz through everything, creating really smooth purees, while the pulse button allows you to chop things more coarsely when required, e.g. chopping herbs or mincing meat. Being an ex-student and self confessed expert at destoying pans, using only a tin of beans and a bit too much time, I was pleased, when last Christmas, I was bought a set of STELLAR pans. PACKAGING: Most products come in high in quality jet black boxes with a glossy picture and size specifications, easy to read. Inside is a guarentee booklet- need to register to validate gaurentee. THE PANS: As with most cookware sets various sixes are available: 14cm 'Milk pan to 26cm 'Stockpots' with all variations inbetween. Advantages: Massive heat transfer and bomb proof construction

...As I had already setup house,got a decent frying pan but found my pans to be falling apart, I needed a pan set without a frying pan. This was a real struggle but the review by wompie99 of Stellar pans got my interest and honed my search. I managed to track down a 4 pan set for £67 on a major auction site, the set comprised of 14cm saucepan 16cm saucepan 18cm saucepan 20cm saucepan This is an excellent range and covers all situations for a large family, with the 20cm pan being massive in comparison to its predecessor. The other reviews mention the tendency for the handles and lids to get hot, I can verify that the lids do get hot but I have not had a major problem with the handles. However as these pans are heavy to begin with, when the large pan is full of spuds it does present a considerable weight, but then its all good... Read review

James Stewart and Kim Novack are stellar in this true masterpiece of filmdom. Bernard Herrmann's score complements the movie immensely and is an integral part of the story. ...Keen opera fans may sometimes be puzzled by the choice available on the shelves of the larger record shops, especially when trying to compare two stellar casts. Bellini's last (and arguably greatest) opera, I Puritani, is a case in point, with recordings by Callas and Sutherland heading the list. Personally I bought both, to avoid having to choose, but each has it's merits. Callas, as always, brings greater warmth and fire to the usually pallid role of Elvira, but Sutherland's effortless roulades and trills are a joy to hear, and a young Pavarotti has a flawless technique in the infamous tenor role which defeated Caruso, complete with a hair-raising top F in his final aria. The Sutherland set also avoids the cuts made in the earlier recording, but is handicapped by Decca's greedy pricing - still at full-price after 30 years? Come on... Read review
