...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

...Stephanie tricked us all and because of that she makes the excellent baddie. With hindsight now, I did think it was strange that she was engaged to Test. ?Test?? I found myself thinking, ?Who the h*ll is Test?? She was supposed to marry Triple H. The marriage was the perfect union and it has created the best set of uber-villains that the WWF has seen to date.
Stephanie, for those of you who have come to the reviews to find out about these people, is the daughter was Vince Mahon. Vince owns the WWF.

SMH for short - she is the daughter of billionaire Vince McMahon and has broke into wrestling that way without paying her dues; unless you count her working as a receptionist her dues?
But anyway she broke into the WWF and has had angles where she has been abducted; married and led the single most powerful force in WWF History (the alliance) so she hasn't done too badly for herself!
And how did she get all this? It isn't because of her amazing in ring ability thats for sure! It's her work on the mic that gets her noticed as " Slut " chants break out around the arena.
She gets a lot of heat by the fellow wrestlers on screen as well, with promos by Chris Jericho and The Rock which really get under SMH's skin! with lines like these...

...I just hate this woman with a vengenance. She has no point in wrestling at all. Just cause of who her Dad and husband is. She can't wrestle for shit and all she does is parade around like she's all that. Well she ain't no Trish Stratus that's for sure.
She really should get the hell out of the ring and let Triple H get on with his job.
All this crap with Kurt Angle is such a waste of time and good wretsling air time. Why don't they just make the matches last longer and let her talk less in the ring.
I don't know if any of you agree, but even though Stephanie seems to be a slut, she is fit. Since her marriage to Tripple H, Stephanie seems to have grown in confidence and she even won the Woman's championship, but she recently lost out to it against Lita. Stephanie McMahon has recently been involved with none other than Kurt Angle...

...Twilight has become a new "fad" in my area and it is quite annoying. I love the book and quite like the film but since the film came out every-one is gabbing about it....its old news for some. Another thing that really gets me is there are people out there that did hear of the book way before the film and pushed it aside thinking it wouldn't be that good when they didn't even give it a chance...grrr! Anyway enough of my ranting.

Inventive, intelligent and yet kooky!
Advantages: Warm but not fluffy, fresh but strangely familiar, great vocals and unexpected arrangements

...I often receive the most enjoyment from totally unexpected sources - those of you who recall my earliest CD reviews may remember Stephanie Kirkham's debut album "That Girl" being lauded a couple of years ago. Whilst I really liked it, I somehow failed to keep up with what she was doing recently and completely missed out on the fact that despite the collapse of her initial record deal with Hut (part of the Virgin empire), she'd gone ahead anyway and released a follow-up disc, "Sunlight On My Soul", two years ago. Attagirl! I came across this little nugget of information just after Christmas last year so immediately ordered a copy of the CD, and what a purchase it turned out to be! Stephanie actually contacted me recently to ask what I thought of it - maybe I should send her a copy of this review!
