V Fit Mini Stepper

Advantages: Very easy to use, move around and store.
Disadvantages: I'm sure there are better steppers but for a higher price.

...Before I start describing the wonders and blunders of the v fit mini stepper I'd like to explain why I opted for this style of home gym equipment. I read a bit on the internet about steppers and how people lose 2-3 inches just using the stepper every day, although this would be a nice bonus I wasn't focusing on losing weight so much as getting fitter and healthier. I live in a large block of flats in London, on the 7th floor with other people living below, above, each side and across the hall. Purely because of this I gave up on my collection of fitness DVDs as I didn't want to be banging about jumping and running every day to the tune of "Lift 2,3,4 and Down 2,3,4, Slide 2,3,4 and Back 2,3,4, and Starjumps...". So basically I believed the quietest exercise equipment I could buy would be a mini stepper. So off to Argos to get...

Lateral Stepper

Advantages: Good workout,
Disadvantages: Can be boring

...I own one of these steppers, not this particular model, but from the read up it does exactly the same. I purchased mine for around £40.00 from Argos. It has an adjustor which you turn to tension the feet pedals but other than that, there is nothing to it. It also has a computer which tells you how many strides you have done, how many calories you have burned (supposedly) how long you have been working for etc. The one thing I don't like about this machine is that the computer cuts off after a couple of minutes of inactivity. I like to use it in short bursts over the day but I find I have to write down what I have done each time and then add them all together at the end of the day. This machine also has the lateral action and yes, you definitely do feel the advantages of using this machine. It is small and compact, although quite heavy...

Delta Aerobic Stepper - great value

Advantages: robust, quality build
Disadvantages: take up a lot of space

...I used to go to a gym regularly (although you would never believe it if you saw the size of me) and lost quite a lot of weight. Nowadays it is very difficul for me to get to the gym because of the hours I and my wife work, so I decided to invest in some home exercise equipment. I bought the Delta Aerobic Stepper from Argos for 79.99 and i have to say it is a superb investment. As well as having the hydraulic stepping platforms (which have a quality feel to them which is very reassuring to my seventeen and a half stone frame!) it has a little onboard computer module thingy which will measure your progress in time or step count. I used to have one of the little 29.99 floor steppers but it only lasted a few months - this one feels much more robust and well worth the extra money....

...Excellent for toning your bum and thighs !! whats even better is that its small to tuck away when you not using it....it may work but to lose weight in a proper diet you need to eat healthy and exercise regulary to make your body slim toned and even more beautiful than it is.......i have had it a while and it dose work but i thought it would be good to add in the "eat healthy bit" ... but i have just found out that you can get the boots side stepper for just £17.49 bargin !!!!! Plus 500 points for Boots Advantage Card users. The meter is automatically switched on when you open it....... if you press the button or you take a step on the side stepper it will activate. But if you do get tired after working out and forget to switch it off it will switch off automatically after 3-4 minutes witch is great as i have a rubbish memory...

...and wellbeing, I needed to find a way to do it. I considered jogging but in the winter in the rural area where I live it is quite dangerous along the narrow country lanes so I discounted that in much the same way as I did cycling for the same reasons. I do not like swimming so that really only left either joining a gym or exercising at home. ...I first came across the Lateral Thigh Trainer on an infomercial on Sky. It was priced at £89.99 + p&p. I thought it was too good to be true. I hummed and aarghed about it for a while. I happened to mention it to a woman I worked with at the time, and she had bought one, but didn't wat to keep it.....so I bought it from her for £50.00. When I first got it home I couldn't wait to have a go and see what all the full was about. Yes it's a stepper, but not any ordinary stepper. To me it feels like you are gliding. You go up and down, but side to side at the same time. I started off by doing about 10minutes, as I found it to be quite tiring, but I gradually built up to about 30minutes. The other week when I was shopping in Tesco I spotted the Tesco Value Stepper with Computer on sale for under £20. ...I was very surprised by the Truesteppers single with Dane and Vic. They were asked on Planet Pop or some such programme a while back (the True Steppers that is) why they chose Victoria and they distinctly said that they only choose guest vocalists for their vocal ability, at which the interviewer nearly spat their coffee everywhere admittedly, but it just goes to show..... People have attacked Victorias vocals for being electronically fiddled with and suggesting that this is to mask her lack of singing talent, did anyone think to say that to Cher??? That "I Believe" rubbish was practically sung by a computer!! She has also been attacked for miming at 'Party in the Park", if people weren't so quick to be negative and judgmental they will have noticed that most of the artists mimed, the minority didnt, and they suffered, Kylies backing...
