Taken by Steven Spielberg

Advantages: Very interesting, thought provoking, well written
Disadvantages: Poor special effects, very long and drawn out

...I have just spent the past 2 weeks watching ten 1 1/2 hour episodes of Steven Spielbergs 'Taken' so i though that this was a good time to write my review. 'Taken' centres around the hotly contested conspiricy theories surrounding the Roswell UFO incedent in 1947. The topic in its self is very interesting, but more so because Steven Spielberg has put his own spin on what has really happened over the past 50 - 60 years since then. 'Taken' is well structured throughout and begins in 1947 at the UFO crash site and then follows on with each episode spanning over 5/6 decades, diverging into several subplots involving 3 different families which ultimately come together to share/not to share their knowledge and experiences. There has obviously being a lot of research and imaginative thought that has gone into this 10 part mini series...

When it comes, watch it.

Advantages: An incredible series, will keep you glued to your seat
Disadvantages: May challenge what you believe and make you think about the possibilities

...If ever there is a tv series that needs to be released on video/DVD it has to be Steven Spielberg's "Taken". This incredible series kept Americans glued to their tvs watching each 2 hr segment, 5 nights a week for 2 weeks, and then tuning in again for the 10 hr omnibus editions of the weeks programmes on the Saturday. When it arrives on British television, my advice is "WATCH IT!!!!" You will not be disappointed. Spielberg assembled a fantastic crew of ten producers, the very best of Dreamworks special effects masters, and a cast of incredible actors. The finished product is one that all the participants can be very proud of having been a party to. It is BRILLIANT! Let Out The Steven Spielberg Within You

Advantages: USB, Quick & Easy Video Editing & Conversion, Good Software Included
Disadvantages: None

...use and powerful piece of kit which anyone can use. You don't have to be a video editor to use this as it can simply be used to edit family holiday or party videos which you have filmed, making them look advanced and more professional. I've even used this for editing videos for my friends and family. It makes the videos look so much better depending on how you choose to edit them. Usually they would look dull and boring. Let out the Steven Spielberg within you. The DVC 130 cost me around £50....

Advantages: Has the ability to transfer old movies to your pc
Disadvantages: Instuctions not clear enough regarding software

...Believe it or not it was a clear out of my understair cupboard that inspired me to buy Dazzle Digital Video Creator. Having found about 25 videos from our old analogue camcorder I wondered if there was any way i could transfer these to my current Digital camcorder then download them to my Pc and burn them onto dvds and watch them. So I left the place in chaos and headed for my nearest Currys with my analogue camcorder and digital camcorder in tow. I asked if they had anything that could do the job and produced my analogue camcorder from its bag. They poor boy had never seen such an antique. The Steven Gerrard I adore!

...Why did I buy this book? I guess like most people you see an autobiography of a famous person you like and you have to have it. I have also been a fan of Liverpool football team and as you will probably guess Steven Gerrard is my favourite footballer! Steven's On the Hill but not too high.

Advantages: Good swiming pool for a lunch and swim option.
Disadvantages: No Green Beans

...STEVEN'S ON THE HILL. It is set on the road that leads up to the Agios Gordios Hotel, it sounds like it may be quite a hike, but it is not too far, about 100 yards from the Bus Stop. It is a Hotel but we only used the Taverna (Restaurant) so can not comment on the standard of accommodation. It has tables set in the Garden the majority are under cover. There is also a large wood fired oven in the garden but was not being used that night. There is a very good sized swimming pool, so would be a good option if staying elsewhere in Agios to use during the day. The night we called in there turned out to be only one other couple having a meal, so it would be difficult to comment on the atmosphere of the place. Looking thru the menu there was a section where they did themed nights, Greek Night with live music and dancing...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Get Up Close With Steven Gerrard.

...I bought Steven Gerrards autobiography simply because he is my favourite player! He's amazing! The book is very personal and tells you about his struggle to become a top footballer, his school ife, family life, his daughters and of course his career. There is a lot of detail about his school life and all he had to go through to get into the Liverpool youths with Michael Owen and information about how he missed out on being in the England youth team. There is also a lot on his relationship with the players and managers etc. Most of the book is really interesting, you learn a hell of a lot and I didn't want to put it down. The only thing I found that I didn't like was the fact he went into detail about some games in the last world cup that I found a bit boring because I was watching it so I know what happened BUT it does tell...
