PUMPING UP THE VOLUME - WITH FREE BLOW-DRY TIPS!
Review of Wella Shock Waves Ultra Strong Volumising Gel Spray by
Louizalass
Advantages: Long-lasting hold with oomph!
Disadvantages: None
...hair, I was then faced with the awful prospect of blow-drying. Then, I hit upon an idea which other women might like to try if they too find it impossible to blow-dry their own hair to salon perfection.
First, I put in rollers. To me, this seems logical as one of the first things the hairdressers tell you is to section your hair evenly and then blow dry using a firm, even tension. Never works for me. Blow-drying freehand, so to speak, meant the sections I usually took were random and uneven. My top hair is about 4 inches long (except for the half inch bits mentioned previously). I selected a section of hair approximately the width of a large roller, spritzed with the product, then rolled the hair. I did this, using various sizes of rollers over most of my head.
Let's pause for a moment and take the claim of 'No Stickiness' first...

Sweaty Betty, not me
Review of Dove Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick by
mumsymary
Advantages: keeps me pong free
Disadvantages: ?
...Dove deodorant stick
I am not a sweaty Betty
Why not? Well it could be because I have been using Dove antiperspirant deodorant.
I bought this deodorant in Tesco’s it cost about £1.40p I seem to remember
Dove deodorant comes in a well shaped stick, fits in the hand nicely.
It has a sea blue cap which twists off a roller ball applicator.
The shaped tube is white and has a sticker on it with the word Dove and drip falling into water making rings. The packaging makes you think cool and refreshed. This product contains 50 ml.
Twisting off the cap I sniff the deodorant it has a fairly faint smell a refreshing smell a little like a rose after a rainfall. The ball runs smoothly under my armpits it does not feel sticky. The fragrance it leaves on my skin is really not really there so it will not clash with my favourite perfume...

look like a celebrity
Review of DiCesare Preserving Spray by
sweetcornxxx
Advantages: makes wonderful hair for a long time after styling
Disadvantages: -
...About Michael diCesare: is a renowned New York hairdresser, one of the head stylist that took care of the hair of numerous high-profile celebrities. And now he has given us the chance to look fantastic.
The secret of the non-aerosol hair spray is in the ingredients:
products contain only natural vegetable proteins that help attract and lock in moisture. These help
a) control frizz and define curls, hold style, create body and add shine for a look that's uniquely you
b) adds dimension to all hair textures
c) does not leave hair sticky, greasy
HOW TO USE As a finishing spray, hold approx. 6" to 8" away from hair and spray lightly and evenly. To create volume, lift the hair and spray closer to the root area. For better results use large cushion brush, which would bring out the best for longer hair styles.
Use it on DRY hair to fix...

Clean and Fresh even in Tenerife.
Review of Avon 24 Hour On Duty by
wulise
Advantages: Now comes in four fragrances and is also ideal for men as well!
Disadvantages: Only came as a roll on before now!
...On Duty 24 Hour are a range of Avon toiletries that have been revamped over the last couple of months. As well as roll on deodorants in two sizes, there has also been the introduction of aerosol anti-perspirant deodorant sprays. The collection contains Original and Fragrance Free scents, in addition two new fragrances have been added to the collection: Musk and Active.
I personally find that this range of deodorants does seem not to stain my clothing. They seem to also work for a good twenty hours, well the aerosol does anyway as I found out on Friday, when travelling home from Tenerife. I did not smell or feel sticky under my armpits. The formula is non-sticky and allows me to feel confident even in hot climates.
**Range**
(New) Active: A sporty smell, which is suitable for both men and women to wear. It is packaged...

Spot The Difference
Review of Clearasil Range by
Redhead
Advantages: It really works!
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, worth it though
....49 which is quite expensive but I got the Clearasil pore purifying wipes free! That's a saving of £4.49 what a bargain, I'll write about these at a later date as I haven't tried them. I wouldn't otherwise spend that amount, one spot occasionally doesn't really seem worth it. I can see how this would be very useful for people who get spots often.
I got home and took the roller-ball out of the packet and applied to the extra head I'd grown, that was about 3 hours ago, I just had a look in the mirror and no lie just the one head left! Fantastic, I have applied again and I'm sure there will be no trace of it tomorrow. The liquid isn't sticky or greasy and I haven't noticed it at all. Best results are to use several times a day direct to the problem area, I can see this will last me a while which is great and I'm sure my other half will get...

Cheap and Nasty
Review of Amplex Roll On by
aliencow
Advantages: See Opinion
Disadvantages: See Opinion
...I have always used the Avon On Duty 24 range of deodorants and had found them to be quick dying and fresh smelling. The thing is though, like everything, it ran out so I was left with no choice but to trundle off to my local "Home and Bargain" store to buy another.
I had came across the usual expensive stuff like Arrid and Sure for Men but on the end shelf, an offer caught my eye. Buy one Amplex roll on for 69p and get the other free! This I did. To choose from, the fragrances where For Men, Aloe, and Original and out of these I chose two original roll ons!
When I got home it was time to try it on. The first disaster was that I thought the roller ball to be a little small, so I ended up having to roll my pits about 5 times just to cover them both. The deodorant seemed sticky, but smelt like the sea - nice and fresh. It took...

It stands out, but does it get your vote?
Review of Nivea Roll On by
anyia7
Advantages: Looks good, feels good!
Disadvantages: Not enough!
...Boots or Superdrug! and that was just a normal corner shop!
So anyway, on with the Nivea Deodrant.
Nivea guarentee a 24 hour protection from odeur and say that its soft and 'silky' on your skin.
The bottle is glass and instructions say shake well before use!
I was pleased with the deodrant, it kept its 24 hour promice, and since I have sensitive sking under my arms, (I often get sore rashes with deodrants- thats usually due to the alchol content in them) I was really pleased with its gentlness.
Another good thing about it is that the bottle looks good and its not too expensive, however.
One problem I found was that shaking it every day was a bit annoying, and also the roller inside wasn't to efficient, as it often caused a huge amount of deodrant to come through, making it sticky.
It was also really cold as the glass keeps it cool...

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Review of Boots Short Hair Roll On Applicator Wax by
Markp_00
Advantages: Re-useable, it works (apparently)
Disadvantages: Cools down to quick, very messy
...!
First up you spend about £7.00 on a pack containing a bottle of wax, (which is amazingly sticky!!!) about 150ml/200ml , more than enough strips (2 packs of about 16 I think). A couple of moisturising wipes for post waxing. Also a plastic roller nozzel which you fix onto the bottle to enable you to roll on the wax! Brilliant!
First of all you get the bottle of wax, take off its little cap and depending on your microwaves wattage you put it in (max heat) for about a minute, by which time the wax is about 1000000000 degrees celcius and very runny, so be careful! (Oh if you dont have a microwave, you can put it in a pan of water and heat it for about 8 mins. Oh and GET A MICROWAVE!)
After the wax has been heated and you've melted your unsuspecting hands to the side of the bottle, put the plastic roller nozzel on. (I advise that the bottle...

excellent alternative to lancome juicy tubes
Review of Avon Color Trend Colour Squeeze Lip Gloss by
coconutaddict
Advantages: cheap price, look really pretty when applied
Disadvantages: some may not like the flavours..
.... I have the Peach flavour (which looks quite brown in the tube) but when applied, really does give a gorgeous natural gloss. AND each of these glosses have EXACTLY the same size glitter particles as the lancome juicy tubes have!! So, when you are wearing this gloss, any other gloss fans will think you have the juicy tube gloss!!
My sister loves the peach one as she generally likes neutral shades of lipstick whereas I also have Strawberry flavour which is my favourite. The Strawberry one is bright red in colour in the tube, but gives a lovely reddish gloss when applied. (similar to juicy tube no 15, cerise, in colour!)
The flavours are nice altho slightly artificial but the gloss is a wonderful texture, and very pleasant on the lips. Some people feel the juicy tube gloss thickness to be too sticky, whereas the color squeeze gloss...

I'm not bald
Review of Immac Warm Wax AquaSystem by
offy
Advantages: Urrmm... it washes off well
Disadvantages: Expensive, doesn't work, hard to put together
...evenly all through and badly burned a few people, so I obviously avoided this. Instead I saw an advert for a wax that was heated by water – the Immac Aqua System.
I found it in Boots for the expensive price of £8.99, but I convinced myself that I would save money in the long run. For your money you get a cardboard box, showing the applicator through a hole, the turquoise applicator, two 50ml canisters of wax, a roller, a lid, 10 fabric strips and an instruction leaflet. It comes in two fragrances - extracts of refreshing green tea and extracts of gentle cotton flowers. I chose the latter for no particular reason.
The instruction leaflet gives details of how to warm the wax, how to check the temperature of the wax, how to apply and remove the wax for legs, underarms and bikini line, how to replace the refill and what to do after use. I...
