STICKY TOFFEE PUD - Yummy, yummy, in my tummy!
Review of PUDZ Sticky Toffee Pudding by  FunkyFaulkner

Advantages: Light, airy but still a gorgeously rich pud.
Disadvantages: Inexpensive and too easy to prepare, thus encouraging you to eat too many!

...After a rather stressful day of mothering, I found myself on an emergency milk sourcing trip to our local Tesco Express store. While standing in the queue clasping a four pint carton to my bosom, I looked longingly over at the dessert freezer and spied something new! I was feeling in the need for some comfort and this looked like it could fill the void!! So I stepped out of the queue and considered whether to buy one or two but in an attempt to be a little virtuous, as we are both supposed to be watching what we eat (NB: I find this a very strange phrase…surely if you watched what you ate, rather than actually ate it, you would loose weight like there was no tomorrow?!), I decided to buy one and split it with 'him-in-doors'. Obviously, you can't have sticky toffee pudding without vanilla ice cream, so I bought a (small) tub to go... Read review

Sticky Toffee Heaven
Review of Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding by  Julieshobs

Advantages: Tastes devine
Disadvantages: the calories

...Whilst visiting the Lake District recently I stumbled across a little gem and a sticky toffee pudding to die for. Just up the road from where we where staying was a small shop selling the most divine sweets and desserts and I just had to try the sticky toffee pudding though totally laden with fat and calories it was a holiday treat. The pudding comes in various sizes, from individual portions, portions that serve three to four and even a size perfect for all serving six to eight people, as there are 4 of us we option for the middle size also my son cannot abide anything like this so only three of us to eat it all. The packaging is simple yet extremely effective, the pudding comes in a foil container with a lit and an outer packing made from cardboard which shows a picture of the original Cartmel Village Shop where the puddings... Sticky Toffee Pudding but not as we know it...
Review of Morrisons The Best Sticky Toffee Ice Cream by  rowei

Advantages: Creamy texture, nice swirls of toffee
Disadvantages: Not particularly sophisticated, lacks a variety of textures (crunchy toffee pieces would be nice)

...It's not really the time of year to be writing reviews about ice cream, but it is one food that I enjoy all year round. So I thought I may as well tell you about my latest ice cream purchase which was bought from Morrisons. Since the takeover of Safeway, Morrisons has re-launched quite a few products which were formerly part of Safeway's 'The Best' range. This is good for shoppers who are looking for the occasional treat but do not want to pay ridiculous prices. One such product line is the range of 'The Best' ice creams. These appeared in stores towards the end of last year and come in four different flavours - 'Sticky Toffee', 'Strawberries and Clotted Cream', 'Chocolate' and 'Vanilla'. Of these, the 'Sticky Toffee' flavour intrigued me the most and this is the one that I shall be reviewing today. THE TUB As with any product... Read review

Sticky Toffee Delight
Review of Heinz Sticky Toffee Pudding by  SweetTooth93

Advantages: Delicious Taste
Disadvantages: Lots of calories

...HEINZ STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING How I Came About Buying It Perhaps you have realised from my past reviews, my family and I are partial too a dessert every now and then, okay, more like every night. Sometimes my mum will bake a huge apple pie, or make up a batch of pancakes drizzled in toffee sauce. Other times, my mum will shove a big bowl of angel delight with mars bar pieces onto the table, or on other times we will be presented with a chocolate mousse or chocolate pudding. This night however was different. Dinner was due to be ready in half an hour, and my mum came up into my room looking awful flustered. I asked her what was wrong, and she told me she had, had a dilemma with the angel delight, it hadn't set properly. What on earth was she going to do for dessert. We went downstairs and I searched through the cupboards... Read review

What is brown and sticky
Review of Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself Sticky Toffee Pudding by  offy

Advantages: Great price, low fat
Disadvantages: Very strong taste of burnt treacle, unable to cook properly in the microwave

...The answer, of course, is sticky toffee pudding! I love this sickly, calorie laden pudding and have tried many in my time, from home made to mass marketed frozen varieties, and enjoyed every last mouthful. Whilst on one of my rare visits to Sainsbury’s recently, I was excited to find a sticky toffee pudding in the Be Good to Yourself range. Was it too good to be true, a wonderful pudding which is low fat? The ratings I am using are: excellent, good, average, not so good and bad. •• The Packaging •• This frozen pack comes in the regular Sainsbury’s Be Good to Yourself blue and green box, showing a picture of a wonderfully gooey looking sticky toffee pudding on the front laden with brown sticky sauce. The box details the recommended daily fat, salt and calorie amounts for men and women, which is always a useful guide. Inside... Read review

Sickly Toffee Aero
Review of Aero Sticky Toffee by  Jaynestep

Advantages: It's chocolate, need I go on?
Disadvantages: It's chocolate, again, need I go on?

...'New' Sticky Toffee Aero is one of numerous new aero products recently blessing our shelves. I bought mine at the local Bells Stores in a '2 bars for £1.80' offer but I reckon they'll be around £1.00 alone. The only size bars available at present are 150g. I have reviewed an Aero product before so have tried to make this review a little different and a bit more interesting read so lets see if it works. PACKAGING If like me your on a diet and want a sneaky treat then go for something somewhat smaller, I thought I'd buy this and it would last a week and a few hours later I'm sat staring at the empty packet and trying to scrape the melted evidence of my sins off the crotch of my jeans before my partner comes home. If it was sold in smaller bars (and I would imagine if it takes off then it will be at some point) then it would be a lot... Read review

A Sticky Situation
Review of Muller Custard Sticky Toffee Sponge by  fran19

Advantages: Great if you have a sweet tooth
Disadvantages: None for me

...If like me you associate the Muller range with yoghurt then you may be pleasantly surprised by what I have found on my shopping trip today. I am not a `yoghurt` person. I am of the `old school` variety. I just adore steamed puddings and milk puddings. On my voyage through Iceland yesterday I came across something I had not seen before, Muller Custard & Sponge Puddings. And they were on special offer. Buy 4 for £1.50. A saving of 65p. Great, I like a bargain. I purchased 2 `Sticky Toffee` 2 `Jam` varieties. This Op is on the `Sticky Toffee`. The packaging is pretty standard `Muller`, round tub with a peel back lid. It is a yellow and beige/light brown colour and had a picture of a delicious `Sticky Toffee` pudding and custard on the top of the lid. You can eat this hot or cold. I went for the hot option. I popped... Read review

I'm all sticky again
Review of Shape Custard & Sponge Sticky Toffee by  offy

Advantages: Low fat, great taste
Disadvantages: Some may find it sickly, lots of E numbers, high sugar content

...Like LostWitness, I have generally stopped writing about food products, unless I find something particularly good or bad. So, today I will be telling you about my newest pudding addiction – the Shape Custard & Sponge sticky toffee pudding. •• The Packaging •• You can recognise these in the shops by the red and white Shape logo and mouthwatering photo of chunks of toffee (that look like Thorntons toffee) and a spoonful of custard. They are sold in pairs, being in yoghurt like pots with a peelable metal lid, and covered in a cardboard sleeve. Their shelf life can be anything up to one week, but check the sell by date carefully if you buy them, as Tescos often leave them out until the day before. Rating: excellent •• Value for money •• This pudding can be found with other refrigerated desserts, often near the yoghurts... T is for Thorntons Toffee
Review of thorntons special toffee original by  Flobo1992

Advantages: Good Smell, Taste, Price, Packaging
Disadvantages: Lots of Sugar

...cheaper when you get it from Tesco, however you have to buy larger packets as they only stock and sell the 180g bag. I think 99p for a bag of carefully prepared Toffee is good. ♦Ingredients♦ Here is the full list of ingredients: Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Vegetable Oil, Butter, Whole Milk, Humectant (Sorbitol), Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup, Salt, Flavouring. ♦Texture of Toffee♦ When you pick up a piece the first thing you noticed is that, unlike some Toffee, it doesn't stick to your fingers or make them feel horrible and sticky. The Toffee feels smooth, not powdery, when you touch it and when you put it in your mouth it also feels smooth - not sharp. When you start chewing as with all Toffee it can stick to your teeth but I have found it doesn't stick that badly. With a brace I was told not to eat Toffee... Read review

Sticky Toffee not for me.
Review of thorntons special toffee original by  tigerthecat

Advantages: Tasty, long lasting , cheap
Disadvantages: aftertaste is bitter, too sweet,

...Since opening their first shop in Sheffield in 1911, Thorntons have cornered the maket with their chocolates and toffees. The package. Not a lot of inspiration here a plastic bag, brown and cream in colour with Thorntons written on. I would have preferred had they put it in a box, which would be more suitable for special occasions. On Opening the bag. The smell was extremely sweet and very appealing for those with a sweet tooth. Taste wise. I found this toffee to be much too sweet, although it does last a long time. There was a definite aftertaste and it was somewhat bitter and not at all nice . It is very nice tasting until the end. I also found that it left a coating on my teeth, this meant that I needed to clean them. I do feel that with all that sweetness there must be an awful lot of sugar in them. This means... Read review
