Taking Stock.
Advantages: A quick and easy way to produce a tasty stock.
Disadvantages: Nothing .
...Such a lot of the meat that we buy today has very little taste attached to it, sadly the animals are force fed and the meat hits the supermarket shelf as soon as the animal has been slaughtered, hence the meat is given no time to hang to gather taste. If I am buying meat for a special occasion then a visit to my local butchers is on the cards, he can provide some good organic meat but it comes at a high price. Like us all I buy chicken and red meat from the supermarket and just hope that I can inject some flavour into it myself. I am sure that most larders are bulging with sauces, granules and bottles of flavouring.
Knorr Chicken stock granules are a useful store cupboard staple and they are just slightly different from other stock granules and cubes. Knorr have packed these granules into a tin and then given the tin a plastic lid to...

Accident Exchange
Advantages: Good replacement car, Speedy service
Disadvantages: Bit cloak and dagger - dont really explain how they get your details
...Around about 6 months ago I had a car accident with a van driver and it was not my fault. My Focus had quite extensive damage to the offside of my vehicle and it was undrivable.
Accident Exchange rang me about 3 hours after the accident and took some details down - I didn't really expect anything of it and didn't really know who the company were.
The next morning I had somebody turn up with a brand new focus for me and I was told that I wouldn't have to pay a penny. Result!
Accident Exchange went about establishing liability for me as my insurance company were truly useless. The other guy disputed liability in the incident which made me very angry but Accident Exchange persisted for me and I was found not to be at fault by the other drivers insurance.
The whole thing took about 3 weeks but I had a courtesy car from Accident...

Take Stock of your tastebuds
Advantages: delicious food, the building
Disadvantages: bit dark 10% service charge, some things a bit pricy for what thy are
...to match. The owner Erizo Manao is also the head chef and his menus are simply sumptuous. The restaurant specialises in fish, seafood and traditional regional cooking from southern Italy and is a treat for all your senses.
The Visual Aesthetics
For me the building the restaurant is housed in is very much part of the whole dining experience. I am a sucker for a really nice building. Stock is housed in a domed ornate Edwardian building which used to be the Northern Stock Exchange hence the name Stock. You enter by a wonderful vestibule into the large single dining room. I liked it as you really got a sense of opulence and scale from the dome down to the tiled floor. The dining room had enough tables to give the place atmosphere without being too overcrowded. I felt there was enough space for us to talk without getting other people...

The Corn Exchange
Advantages: Wicked place to go even just to look around
Disadvantages: Stairs are a bit rickety and the balcony is really scary!!
...There isn't already a place for this opinion to be posted, so I know that this is the first, I guess it had better be good so the next person who writes about it has something to live up to!
The Corn Exchange - as the name suggests, was once a place where the farmers of Leeds gathered and sold off their corn! There is in fact still a huge scale on one side of the building that was used for its original purpose! It changed quite a long time ago but remains with the original architecture (dunno if i spelt that right!!) and amazing ceilings!
I'll stop rambling now and actually tell you about it! It houses quite a few shops that are either original or that there are very few of in England. It also has quite a lot of little stalls that congregate there on particular days and a few eating places and a bar.
The Shops:

I Won't Be Keeping A Stock Of Stock Pots In My Cupboard
Advantages: none at all
Disadvantages: overpriced, salty, artificial
...The secret to a good soup is starting with a good quality stock for the base. I make my own chicken stock by boiling down chicken bones with water and it makes an exceptionally tasty soup but when I make my lentil soup only knorr ham cubes will do. I had spotted the knorr stock pots on the shelves of the supermarkets several times and wondered if they were any good but the price of around £2 for a box of eight potions put me off. Luckily one day they were on half price offer so I chucked them into my trolley.
Knorr claim that these stock pots are "a rich concentrated stock made from selected meats, herbs and spices that are gently simmered into a concentrated little pot" so I was expecting something better than a bog standard commercially prepared stock cube. I was not expecting it to be as good as my home made chicken stock but I was...

A stock for all seasons!
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
...I love to make soup especially at this time of year and always use Kallo organic stock cubes as I think they are simply the best around! Kallo organic stock cubes come in several different varieties including vegetable and free range chicken and well as a low salt version. I am going to tell you about the free range chicken cubes.
Kallo started life as a small family run business 20 years ago, producing organic products. Today Kallo are part of the giant Wessanen NV group based in the Netherlands. Kallo also make rice cakes, Whole earth peanut butter and the SO Good Range. I can also recommend Whole Earth peanut butter!
Kallo chicken stock cubes come in a small orange cardboard box. Each pack contains 6 stock cubes. The cubes are individually foiled wrapped to keep them fresh. They have a long shelf life. The reason I buy Kallo as...

Fair Exchange
Advantages: Easy Read
Disadvantages: Not deep enough
...Fair Exchange- Michele Roberts, 246pp, 6.99
Roberts is half English and half French, which explains her setting for this tale of secrecy and guilt. The action takes place partly in the small French village of Saintange-sur-Seine, partly in London and partly in the Lake District. Set at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries, it is a story of interwoven lives, love affairs, drunken japes, babies and Revolution.
The book is a confession- the account of Louise, a French peasant who, fearing that her end is fast approaching, has a guilty need to repent for a dark deed she committed as a young woman. She calls for the local priest and thus begins the tale.
At the end of the 19th century France was in turmoil- the aristocracy were being sent to the guillotine and riots reigned. The Gallic Revolution was observed...

Lock, Stock and Two Thumbs Up!
Advantages: Great direction, acting, plot twists
Disadvantages: Bad lannguage and rather bloodthirsty - you have been warned!!
... LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS
film only review
Eddy: "They're armed."
Soap: "Armed!? armed with what?"
Eddy: "Err, bad breath, colourful language, feather duster... what do you think they're gonna be armed with? Guns, you tit!"
Soap: "A minute ago this was the safest job in the world. Now it's turning into a bad day in Bosnia."
In 1998 an unknown British film Director named Guy Ritchie set off to film a side of London that was rarely seen.
A deep underground syndicate of crime, corruption, and power; but instead of documenting it, and sulking his viewers in darkness, he made it a damn good time. A surprising sketch of wonderful ideas, situations, and dialogue.
In 1999 Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was released world wide.
It introduced the world to Ritchie's groovy stylized...

Its no accident people use accident exchange
Advantages: Supply quality courtesy cars to people on third party insurance, great customer service
Disadvantages: may not be as helpful where liability is an issue
...We had an accident last year where another driver pulled out the wrong way at a one way street and wrote our car off he admitted liability at the scene. I was only insured third party only so when my insurance company asked if I would like a courtesy car i jumped at the chance! They put me thorough to accident exchange who took a few details etc. I must admit I was skeptical:
A gentleman arrived at my address the next morning with a 1 year old vauxhall vectra parked outside which had just been valeted and serviced.
I had to fill out minimal paper work, I was told no matter what happened I was covered and I didnt have to give the car back until two weeks after the payment for my car was recieved.
We ended up keeping the car for nearly four months with minimal contact from them. One morning I went to the car to find someone had dented...

The Hollywood Stock Exchange
Advantages: great game and its free
Disadvantages: site is a bit slow
...Another stock exchange simulation? Well, yes, but this is slightly different. Basically the Hollywood Stock Exchange gives you the chance to invest money (calm down - its only imaginary money) in movies.
When you register (this only takes a couple of minutes) you are given $2 million Hollywood dollars. Using this money you can buy shares in movies, stars or options. Stock prices on movies are based on the estimated box office of a film in its first 3 weeks of opening (ie: $10 means it is estimated to take $10 million). Once the film has opened you can no longer trade in it. You can invest in films from their concept, through their development and production and right up to their release. After 3 weeks of release the shares are delisted and you get the value back.
The starbonds allow you to invest in actors, actresses and directors...
