...this goes for all storage systems. However, it seems to me that not enough attention was paid to dividing and sub-dividing drawers and cupboards to make them useable. Unless this is done, any storage system will eventually come to grief! In between the chapters are sections on DIY projects and these are one of my main gripes about the book. Pretty drawings show how, in very few steps, one can create various storage projects ranging from storage cubes or a curtained wardrobe, through to much more complicated storage for an LP collection! (Personally, I would have preferred more innovative ideas on CD storage instead of the paltry two racks shown.) As anyone who has ever wielded a saw and a screwdriver will tell you, DIY projects are fraught with problems and pitfalls. This book just adds a few more! Unless you know what you are doing... ...The PNY Attache 128mb data storage key is a fine piece of kit, which is a must have for anyone still carrying around data on a floppy disk. This data key slots easily into any USB connection point and then you can use it as you would a floppy drive - that is if you are running Windows 2000 upwards. I bought the PNY data storage key when I was still running the Windows 98 operating system and the system refused to accept the key, even with the drivers that PNY recommended you download from their very own website. This said, I have never had a problem on any system running Windows 2000 or above. The key holds the equivalent of roughly 80 floppy disks, comes with a handy strap (that can be disconnected if you wish) to keep round your neck and is extremely light. My only gripe is that the protective cap is easy to misplace or lose... Read review

...My getting of this product was for one major reason, and that was for expansion of my memory storage capacity in my system. Normally my 20gb hard drive is now packed with stored information and before I bought this, I was forced to compress information if it would be possible but since it was not possible, I went for this and from what I am seeing, this will be able to store as much information as possible. The freecom storage device comes in a black shinny portable rectangle shape. This has served me well for quite some time so I am happy with it. Well my previous 20gb hard drive device has tried for me but for the fact that I am the type that fill my storage device with pictures being capable of consuming more space than ordinary documents I needed a more storage hard drive device capacity. ...Well my system has been in use for the purpose of storage and I normally store lots of information in my computer mostly pictures and it has occupied most of the memory space in my system. I got this specifically for the purpose of extending the memory capacity in my system that has only 4GB hard drive to compare to what I do on my computer. The Freecom storage device has enough memory storage space that will be able to store your information almost to infinity. It also comes in a shinny black rectangular structure. I think that I have gotten up the point of buying some thing that has larger space for my system because my 4 GB hard drive cant carry on any longer and I have to get this in support of the existing 4GB drive. I was in need of such high storage capacity because I do some graphics stuff and also I wanted some space for my movie collection. This hard drive has a spindle speed of 7200 rpm, which is common to other Seagate Barracuda hard drives. This is the mainly used speed for a hard drive now adays. This hard drive supports SATA-300 interface. Due to this it can transfer data at a very high speed. It also has a cache buffer of 16 MB, which helps in enhancing its performance. It support Native Command Queuing, which is mainly useful in server systems. This hard drive boosts excellent seek time and transfer rates. It heats up a bit, so, proper air cooling is necessary. ...The Iomega Jaz drive is a good solution for those who want to exchange dynamic data from one computer to another. The Jaz drive is a fairly quick device. It is not as fast as a harddisk, but certainly quicker than a tape or a CD-ROM. You can use a Jaz disk as a booting device, which gives you the opportunity to work with several operating systems. Do not use a Jaz-disk as a permanent storage device. The disks are quite expensive and need to be refreshed every two or three year. For permanent data storage a CD is much more suitable. But for dynamically exchanging data a Jaz-drive is very nice. Disadvantage of the Jaz is its noise. The disk rotates at high speed in the Jaz-player that makes a high rustling sound. ...This flash drive has a storage of 512MB of which is normally enough for the average user for documents, spreadsheets ect. Its ease of use first comes with the plug and play ability with the majority of Windows operating systems, with Windows 98 drivers easily found on the user friendly website that sandisk has. The USB 2.0 connection that this provides gives you a better data transfer rate for files, but you must have a USB 2.0 port avalaible otherwise you will be transfering at a much lower speed. Although transfering at a lower speed compatability with USB 1.1 ensures universal/backwards compatability. The device shows up and is reaconised by windows as a portable device and not as a harddrive like some protable storage devices passes themself off to be towards windows. ...Yes I was seduced by the thought of extra space in hyperspace so signed up. I have regretted this move for 3 months now. Maybe I am stupid or maybe I have an internal error in my system but I have had to rebuild my computer to get rid of the all pervading fingers of X-Drive throughout my system. X-Drive promised me 25Mb of extra storage for free. This comes with a small programme you have to download so your computer can access this extra storage. But this opens up your registry from all sorts of system files to the net and, no doubt, provides X-Drives advertisers with information about you so that they can insert advertising into many of your applications. I disagree with this philosophy of computer snooping as a rule but when the advertising started sending my virus checker into hyperdrive warning me about every known trojan... Read review
