...I have owned my cooker for 2 years. It has a number of features that I really like and a few things that I would change. The thing I found most impressive was that despite being a gas cooker it has both semi automatic and automatic cooking mode. The semi auto allows you to set an end time for the main oven. This is a feature that my old cooker had but it also has the additional bonus of being able to set both the start and finish time whch I did not realise could be done with gas. The setup instructions are a little complex though. I rarely use the top oven as it takes quite a while to get to temperature. It's main function for me is the grill which has varying heights but you cannot vary the heat. The design fault on the grill for me is that you cannot use it with the door shut. Advantages: Relatively robust , reasonable value., practical colours

...I purchased the silver version of this freestanding gas cooker and grill some 10 weeks ago. The cooker is available finished in either silver or gold enamel which appears to be quite robust and hard wearing. The cooker top is black as are the sides. I thought the WL stood for without lid, but it seems from the instructions that it means waist level. This was clearly lost on me at the time of purchase but I did not require a glass lid in any case. Beware confusion in the listed title description of this product. It is certainly not for LPG (liquid propane gas connection) and this is specifically mentioned in all the literature. The 550 version is 55 cm wide and if you have the space, well worth upgrading to 55cm cooker, since it is surprising just what extra can be fitted into the oven when friends arrive. Trangia, indestructable stove

Advantages: Light, unbreakable
Disadvantages: Slower to boil, lack of fine flame control

...I have had my Trangia since 1989 after several years of experience using them and it is as good as the day I bought it. They are robust, and will last a lifetime. Unlike most liquid or gas stoves, the burner has no moving parts. Just fill with Methelated Spirits, (some water, to reduce sooting) and light with a match. The heat of the flame causes the fuel vapour to rise up the side channels of the burner and out through the small holes at the top. The rest of the stove looks like two pans, one inverted with air holes holds the burner, the second - the windshield holds the pan / frying pan. Once the burner is cool, you can seal it up with a cap. The O-rings are still good, and it has never leaked on me. On top of the lid you can store the flame control. ...Top Gear???? Top Gear is a motoring show that is broadcast n BBC2 on Sunday evenings at 8 o clock and repeated again during the week. There are three main presenters on the show and they are Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Each of these presenters has their own quirkiness and their own very individual opinions relating to cars. The show lasts for an hour and you feel you are getting a lot packed into one show when watching it. There is usually a few new cars that are featured on the show and test driven by one or other of the presenters. There is also "The Stig" who is a racing driver dressed in all white driving suit with a blacked out visor on his helmet. Inside the envelope was a subscription to one of my favourite magazines "TOP SANTE.Top Sante is, in my eyes classed as a "Special Magazine" and so I was pleased to recieve this gift as it meant I wouldn't have to splash out every month. The name Top Sante, comes from the french word "health". This indicates before you even read the magazine, that the contents will mainly be health related. My mum has been buying these magazines for 4 or 5 years and had saved up most of them. So you can imagine my delight when I came across a huge pile of them in one of my mum's drawers! Advantages: Smooth, clean, modern appearance

...I bought this hob in December 2004 to replace my Phillips unit which had done excellent service over 12 years but was becoming dated. The Stoves unit appealed because of the clean and modern appearance and I believed Stoves was a name to be trusted. Fitting was quite easy as it slotted into the same space as the Phillips without cutting the worktop and initially the unit worked satisfactorily. The touch sensitive buttons were slightly unresponsive but not excessively so. However, I did notice that if anything covered the control section (even water) the unit would beep alarmingly - probably a safety feature. The hob was very easy to keep clean, no fiddly buttons to pull off to clean underneath, and the ceramic very durable. After 3 years of use the surface appeared as clean and smooth as if it were new.
