Babyliss Straight and Shine with Shot of Steam
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
Cici_Ying
Advantages: Leaves hair soft, shiny and straight
Disadvantages: Can be too hot to handle
...that they are “with ceramic coated non-stick plates to glide ultra smoothly through the hair.” Underneath is the name of this particular model... Straight and Shine – Shot of Steam (2032), claiming to be used by the world’s top hairdressers. On the sides of the box are diagrams to show what is included such as a smoothing attachment, removable detangling comb, wide ceramic coated plates and what it would look like with the extra shot of steam. The back has another picture of the straightener and descriptions pointing to each different part so you know what is what.
Inside the box is the product with the plates and comb already attached and a separate bag containing the smoothing attachment, guarantee (2 years) and instruction manual. The straightener itself is white with the brand name printed on one side of the straightener...

Straight Hair in just a Mo...
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
Ladywell1
Advantages: Lovely straight lovely feeling hair. Quick to use.
Disadvantages: No cordless yet. Better for medium to long hair.
...Welcome to all that would love to be able to straighten their hair in just a few moments with minimum preparation time. Whilst looking like you have just walked out of the hairdressers.
YES it is that quick and that good. I could not believe it myself until I invested in one.
BABYLISS Paris - Straight and Shine with Steam Conditioning Straightener.
The professional look at home. I have waited along time for this and that is why I have just got to tell anyone that will read this op or listen to me.
I purchased this product from Argos after it was recommended to me by a very dear friend of mine. After seeing her hair and asking her what hairdressers she had visited to light healthy looking hair. When she told me what she had used I must admit I found it hard to believe her and left it a few months before investing in one...

Babyliss:-) Steams & Straightens
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
michr
Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: may leak after a time
...It's the age old cry, certain girls with straight hair would love long curling tendrils, and others with curly hair would love a mane of long poker straight locks. I am one of the latter, although I'm happy enough with my curly hair, like anyone else I sometimes want a change.
The Babyliss steam straightener definately gives me that. I know that constant blow-drying etc. can damage hair, so I deliberately bought a steam straightner as I was told that it would be slightly less harsh to my hair. It's simple to use, you just fill up the water container & plug it in. It heats up pretty quickly and then off you go!! It has a detachable comb, which I find pretty handy. I have tried some other straighteners which didn't have a combed edge and I found that they didn't grip my hair all that well.
I have had mine for nearly two years now...

Straight and Shine
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
cathy67
Advantages: Very usefull and convienient
Disadvantages: none
...and Shine comes with a comb attachment, which goes through your hair with ease, unlike the other type of straightener’s, which tend to drag and pull your hair, which causes the main damage to your hair.
It is very easy to use these straighener’s, as they have a detachable water refill attachment, so you can fill it as much as you want. This enables the steam to work on your hair, giving it that superb shiny straight look.
Babyliss Straight and Shine can be bought in most department stores or mail order catalogues, and they sell for around £16 to £18, which I find is superb value, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone....

Want Straight Hair then Try This
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
ckr85
Advantages: Works keeps hair straight
Disadvantages: None
...My hair used to be straight and sleek and then I had it cut and it is curly. I have tried every product for striaghtening hair and none seem to work. So I decided to try the Babyliss Straightner and I haven't look back since.
It is simple to use and uses steam. This is healthy for you hair as it restores some of the moisture rather than stripping it unlike the iron plates straighteners. My hair is thick but it still works. You may have to do it it layers but it does work and stays straight until next wash. This product is for any one who wants to try a product to striaghten their hair that actually works....

Straight hair at last
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
babby
Advantages: wonderfully straight, shiny hair
Disadvantages: seem to get quite a few drips from the steam reservoir
...I have spent many many hours in my life standing in front of a mirror with bucket loads of straightening products on my hair trying desperately to dry it straight with just a concentrator nozzle and a paddle brush.
Finally, I took the plunge and decided to invest in some straightening irons. Best idea of my life. I don't know why I didn't do it years ago!
These irons are quick and easy to use. They heat up quickly, and I never get my hair caught in them or anything nasty like that.
With just a minimum of styling product, my hair is left beautifully straight and shiny, and really quickly too! The looks lasts all day.
One extra good thing is that it has a decent length flex on it, I never seem to be practically yanking it from the socket, unlike some other appliances I have....

Steam cleans well
Review of Electrolux Z370A Steam Cleaner by
scooby32
Advantages: Works well and you get lots of accessories
Disadvantages: Could do with a bigger fabric tool
...your ready to use.
When using on windows or glass, never just use the steamer straight on cold, stand away from window or glass and press steam button, this way the steam is not direct on the cold window/glass and warms it up ready for you to use on the window/glass and then wont damage.
Never hold the nozzle near anyone's face, always hold nozzle down, even after turning off, steam could still escape and burn.
When wanting to turn off to fill up or put away, always turn off the on/off switch and unplug from the mains first.
If steaming curtains, I suggest you take them down and steam on the floor, this way you cant damage any electricals near curtains and you don't have to warm window up first.
When steaming sofas or floors, I suggest you open windows as it gets hot and the smell from the steaming is realised from...

Tamed
Review of Babyliss Straight and Shine Steam Straightener by
mornev
Advantages: Hair is soft, sleek and conditioned
Disadvantages: None
...going every which way and completely out of control. Blow drying has proved no better as my hair feels dry and brittle no matter how careful I was. No amount of intensive conditioners has improved the look or texture of my hair. I like to have the choice of two looks. One left naturally curly and bouncy and the other sleek and straight and neither worked. What was I to do?
My past experiences as a professional hairdresser have left me very dubious about using any form of electric hair straighteners because of the direct contact with the hair. There were many instances of scorched and damaged hair. Nevertheless, I had read some glowing reports about the latest breed of steam enhanced ceramic plated hair straighteners but the cost of the most sought after brand seemed exorbitant. Lately, the online beauty forum I regularly read was full...

Wet2straight.....should be easy2straight!!
Review of Remington Wet 2 Straight Slim by
Katie3410
Advantages: Easy to use, makes hair healthier and shiny
Disadvantages: None
...These straightners are brilliant, I actually have the wide wet2straight straightners but I’ll write about both. I know from experience that ‘time’ is a big issue when it comes to straightening hair. I like something that will straighten my hair really quickly. There are only a few straightners that do the job quickly (see my other review for other opinions) I know you shouldn’t really write about two products that fall into the same category but I would like to give you my expressions on everything I have or try.
Wet2straight Slim.
The wet2straight slim I don’t actually own, but they are obviously the same make. Most professionals hairdressers are now admitting that they are a lot better than any other straightners on the market…better than GHD (sorry GHD lovers!)
I know most of you that read my review on Nicky Clarke...

Something not to get steamed up about
Review of Hinari Steam Supreme by
Medusa
Advantages: Saves on washing up
Disadvantages: A bit cumbersome - and beware of scalding yourself!
...The Hinari Super Steamer is not (as I first thought when presented with the mystery box as a house warming present), a steam iron. It is, in fact, a food steamer. As I'm sure you are aware, steamed vegetables are considered the healthiest way of cooking your veg. Unlike conventional veg cooking techniques the vegetables do not lose their vitamins, texture or flavour when steamed over a pool of gently bubbling water.
However, this modern convenience, like so many other modern (not to mention convenient) kitchen appliances seems to make what was, in ye olden (but not very convenient) days a relatively straight-forward procedure into something altogether more .... well, bothersome. Consider the following:
In the days when to steam veg you would need to use a pan, what would you do? Put a pan of water on the stove to boil, stick...
