However I had not been aware of this particular product's existence until a recent visit to my usual salon for a wash and blow dry. My hairdresser introduced me to this product when styling my hair. Keeping your hair straight - GHD's

...A few years ago as a present I was given pink GHD's, they were the ones that gave money to breast cancer. I had never had straighteners before but fell in love with them immediately. Unfortunately I was a bit silly with them and used to wrap the wire around the straighteners, this meant that they eventually after two years started to stop working every now and then and finally stopped working. I was pretty devastated at this as was so used to having straight hair by this point. I had heard that you could send them back to the company, so although I knew it may have been my fault I gave it a try. I received a letter back from GHD saying unfortunately my guarantee had run out but they did offer me the new mk4 GHDs for £90, which was a saving of around £30. Smooth looking straight hair

Advantages: easy to use and cheap to buy

...I've had these hair straighteners for roughly six months now and have used them probably every day since I was given them, so I feel fairly qualified to give my opinion: that I really can't recommend them highly enough!! The quality of GHDs is unbeatable - I've used a lot of hair straighteners in my time, and I've got to say that they really do give consistently good results. They heat up in roughly fifteen seconds, and you can straighten hair very quickly in a rush with a fairly good finish - which as you can imagine saves huge amounts of time in the mornings! Generally, unless your hair is remarkably stubborn, the hair will also stay straight for the duration of the day. Great for poker straight hair!

...232 degrees. You might not think that these few tiny degrees would make a difference but having tried a friend's GHD's the FHI's definitely work better on my hair. The straighteners can be used to flip, twist, straighten and curl hair which is great for parties. They also heat up very quickly, usually to top temperature in around 20 seconds. They apparently seal in natural moisture too, which can't be a bad thing. The manual also states that they eliminate frizz, which I have to agree with! I find that they glide through hair nicely and although I usually go over each section of hair a few times, I don't think that someone with straight hair would have to. Great for short thin hair

Disadvantages: Unable to cope with my thick hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....
