However, I soon discovered once I owned a pair that they deserve the praise and fantastic reviews they receive. They are a stunning piece of technology, which have none of the faults or criticisms which some other brands have. I was given my straighteners for Christmas, but wanted to really test them properly before writing my review. I didn't want to just write away with my rose-tinted glasses on!! Excellent Straighteners & a Great Gift

Advantages: Durable, Perfect Straight Hair, So Simple To Use
Disadvantages: Don't use on wet hair it damages them

...I won't go into amazing detail as there are so many good reviews on here but i bought these for my girlfriend as she kept borrowing out her old GHD's which her friend seemed to ruin and she loves them. She is a hairdresser and swears by GHD she should actually just change jobs and promote them that?s how passionate and convincing she can be. And to quote her in some way - Yes they are more expensive than most of the other brands but unless you are really unlucky you will never need to own another pair of straighteners again as they are so good and durable. ...I love it! calling it a straightner doesn't not do it justice, it styles hair into pretty much any shape. I personally love the perfect curls i can create myself. It even comes with a dvd to show you how to straighten, wave, and curl your into different looks, so you can try something new everyday. They flash and beep when they are hot enough and they only take about 20 seconds to heat up, therefore there's a super quick cool down time too. And it comes with a heat map to store them in and you don't burn any surface you put them on. It is impossible to wear my hair down in its natural state as it just looks ridiculous. Filling it with mousse to curl it is hard work and costs me a fortune in styling products! ...I received GHD Mk4 Straighteners as a gift for my birthday about 8 months ago, and I have to say these are one of the best hair straighteners on the market today. You can only however buy them from hairdressers, or online. It came with thermal protector, and creation spray. The thermal protector helps prevent any permanent damage the exceeding heat the straighteners give off and the creation spray helps you create different styles for your hair. Of course I'm not going to be able to fully determine whether the heat protection actually works, but I can say the creation spray didn't really give me any benefit.
