A Miracle Working Cream
Review of StriVectin SD Intensive Concentrate Stretch Marks by
lula777blue
Advantages: Really fades stretch marks
Disadvantages: Not as effective on areas with thick skin.
...I have been using the cream for my stretch marks and it has made a dramatic difference, especially on the stretch marks on my arms which have faded significantly. The results to the stretch marks on my stomach and back have not been so dramatic, but I will keep using the cream. I believe this could be because the skin in those areas is thicker. Anyway, based on the results I am getting I would recommend the cream. I always thought nothing could fade stretch marks and so I am pleasantly surprised at the results achieved. The price is a bit high, but worth every penny in my opinion. I hear the cream also works on facial lines and will use the cream if lines begin appearing on my face. One of the best buys I have ever made....

palmers cocoa butter stretch mark cream
Review of Palmers Cocoa Butter by
helenjames
Advantages: stopped me getting bad stretch marks
Disadvantages: a little sticky
...I found this cream in Superdrug when I was around a month pregnant and started using it straight away.
I bought a tube which comes in a box and is priced around £5 for 125g. You can also get a lotion which I tried to which costs £5 for 250ml.
The cream kept my skin soft and I didn't ever get itching like it says you can suffer from in pregnancy books.
I used this cream on my tummy, hips, thighs and bum.
During my pregnancy I did get alot of stretch marks on my bum and hips that appeared red and purple but I carried on using the cream and not one mark appeared on my tummy.
Around 2 weeks after having my beautiful baby my stretch marks had already dissapeared.
I think that through using this cream that contains cocoa butter, vitamin E, elastin and collogen it helped my skin stay soft and supple enough to stretch without leaving...

Palmers, the miracle cream?
Review of Palmers Massage Cream for Stretch Marks by
vk-dream
Advantages: Moisturising
Disadvantages: Slightly Greasy
...Palmers Massage Cream for Stretch Marks
Upon falling pregnant I was petrified of my body turning into stretch mark central; where as a lot of unfortunate teens accumulated stretch marks during puberty I had been fortunate enough to escape such an occurrence and I didn’t want to get them now either.
I bought my tube of Palmers Massage Cream for Stretch Marks from work for about £3.50 for 125g. The tube was white and stands approximately 8 inches tall, on the front as well as the brand name and informative text is an outline picture of a pregnant woman. Upon flipping back the life of the tube I could smell the contents, a mild coconut oil smell - that typical of the Palmers range. The cream was very pale in colour almost an off white/cream shade is was also cold to my skin but I’m sure that has to do with the room temperature...

Not a stetch mark in sight.
Review of Boots Mediterranean Massage Butter by
vickigroth
Advantages: Smells lovely, not expensive, works!
Disadvantages: none
...I bought this from Boots after receiving a voucher for a half price tub. I was about 12 weeks pregnant at the time and had read a review of this in Mother and Baby. I was anxious not to get stretch marks.
The body butter is thick and creamy but it rubs in well leaving a lovely orange smell. Its not too oily so I was able to get dressed straight after using it. I used it every day, initially just in the morning but then in the last couple of months both morning and night. I didn't get a single stretch mark!
One tub isn't quite enough to last through the average pregnancy but I used 3 over 2 pregnancies. I now buy it for all of my friends when the get pregnant as its such a bargain price and a fantastic product. Forget all these expensive stretch mark creams, for £5 (and often on half price with boots advantage card vouchers) you...

Coco butter Magic
Review of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula by
loose_woman
Advantages: Gorgeous smell, great value, reduces stretch marks and evens skin tone
Disadvantages: None
...A few years ago a friend told me of this amazing body lotion. "it's less than 4 quid and it'll get rid of them stretch marks and make your skin feel great" she said.
"yeah if you say so!" I said.
A week later i was shopping and came across this so called "magic cream". I looked, thought oh well, £3.59, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
That evening i had a bath, shaved my legs and tried the cream.
Expecting a cheap and watery lotion i was pleasantly suprised when out came (with a bit of squeezing) a lusious, thick cream, smelling what i can only describe as heavenly.
Still the eternal cynic i progressed to apply this lotion. It glided onto my skin and provided immediate relief from the dryness caused by the shaving. Once on for a couple of minutes it had absorbed into my skin and made it feel wonderful. I was left with soft, smooth...

Bio Oil did not help my stretch marks
Review of Bio-Oil Face Cream by
karyan
Advantages: Makes skin really smooth
Disadvantages: Pricey, and did not work on my stretch marks/scars
...After trying all sorts of creams in desperate attempt to budge the unslightly old silverly stretch marks I had since puberty, I turned to Bio Oil because of its good reviews. I also had quite pronounced scars which needed getting rid off and considering the product claims to help "scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, ageing skin and dehydrated skin" I thought it would be worth a try.
Bio oil is easy to apply and is absorbed well by the skin, although the smell does take a bit of time getting used to.
After 6 months of using the product I am sad to say that although it does make the skin more silky smooth, I have not noticed much difference in the appearance of my stretch marks... prehaps it only works well on fresher stretch marks?
Scars do fade over time but does Bio Oil help fade them quicker? My scars are slightly lighter...

Pregnancy Wonder Oil
Review of Bio-Oil Face Cream by
salstachu
Advantages: Non-Greasy, absorbes really easily
Disadvantages: Non
...Bio-Oil was recommended to me by a friend who had used it on exsisting stretch marks with great success.
I started using it about 4 months into my pregnancy when my bump started to show. I religiously massaged the oil into my belly every morning and night and was immediately amazed at how quickly the oil was absorbed. After about a week of using Bio-Oil my skin was feeling incredibly soft and healthy.
I purchsed Bio-Oil in a 60ml bottle which cost about £8.99 from Boots. At first I thought it was a little expensive, but the bottle lasted 2 months, and in my quest to prevent pregnancy stretch marks I thought it a fair price.
I am now due to have my baby at any moment and i have not gained a single stretch mark. I am absolutely over the moon, as during puberty I seemed to get them so easily.
I would deffinately recommend this product...

Smooth and soft
Review of Palmers Massage Cream for Stretch Marks by
KITTEN122
Advantages: Simply works
Disadvantages: Contains lanolin
..., Cetyl alcohol, Stearyl alcohol, Tocopheryl acetate, Solluble collagen, Hydolyzed elastin, Diazolidinyl urea, Disodium EDTA, Methyl paraben, Propyl paraben, Limonene, Linalool, Caramel, Fragrance.
Whilst I don't pretend to be an expert in what all these ingredients actually are it is worth noting that this product contains lanolin so won't be suitable for everyone.
Smell
The cream is lightly fragranced with a smell of cocoa which I find delicious and believe that most people would like.
Usage
It is suggested on the packaging that you use this product on the area prone to stretch marks on the morning and evening. However I preferred just to put it on in the evening that way you could potentially get your partner to massage the cream in for you which I found a much need way to relax.
What does it claim to do?
Basically it claims to help...

Mummy Vs Stretch Marks- the final battle
Review of Avent Future Mother Indulgent Cream by
Jaynestep
Advantages: Leaves skin soft and hopefully stretch Mark free
Disadvantages: Cream is a little bit runny
...I’m pregnant, bless I’m going to have a little baby. But then aaargh, what are all these purple marks invading my ever expanding body??
Stretch Marks, a year ago I was slim and felt sexy in my birthday suit with no worries, well other than when I was on my period, about the shape/size of my somewhat curvy figure. Now I’m 32 weeks pregnant and luckily found Avent Indulgent Body cream.
Now, in every pregnancy book I have read it tells me that these creams probably will not work and that whether or not you get stretch marks depends on your skin type. This may well be true but when my partner’s mother (who has had 2 children) presented me with the fact that she used the creams and has not one single stretch mark I though it would be worth a shot.
I chose to use Avent Indulgent Body Cream which I got from Boots at £5.99 for the 200ml tube...

My name is Sarah and I have stretch marks
Review of Palmers Cocoa Butter by
sarahpervin
Advantages: very smooth skin
Disadvantages: can be greasy if you use too much and the sweet smell may put some people off
...I have stretch marks! There I’ve said it! I’m 24 no kids but still have stretch marks shocking I know. I first gained my lovely(????) stretch marks when I put on a lot of weight about 5 years ago and then I lost it very quickly so obviously it stretched my skin quite badly and back then I didn’t have the skincare regime I have now. So I’ve been looking for a product that will help improve the suppleness and tone of my skin and if possible get rid of the nasty things! A few people recommended Palmers Cocoa butter cream so I thought I’d try it out. So here’s my opinion.
The Product
---------------
There are lots of different types of this brand on the market including body lotion, which comes in a bottle, and a cream that’s in a tube and the butter which is the thickest stuff and that comes in a tub. I use the butter, which comes...
