MCS-700 Strobe for the BT VP1000 home alarm

Advantages: Gives you the external Strobe \ siren to compliment your BT VP1000
Disadvantages: Requires power supply so not totaly wireless

...If you want to add a strobe siren to your BT VP1000, you will need this wireless siren. I added the MCS-700 to mine and was very simple, and all my friends have followed suit. I Got mine from www.bpcsystems.co.uk, seems to have more bits for use with the BT VP1000 than other places I have tried, and their prices are quite good. The only negative point is that it comes supplied with a 2 pin plug and not a 13amp plug. Not a big deal I know, you can simply put one on, but why should you have to ? Another point is the Siren "squawks" 1 squawk when arming 2 squawks when disarming. I have left mine switched on, but I know a couple have had this switched off, but this can only be done by the supplier. ...The Ikelite housing is a durable, reliable piece of equipment. I have used this housing with my Nikon D70 camera. It is easy to handle, but the lock button are a bit rough to lock down. I find Ikelite?s transparent (clear polycarbonate) material useful, it allows me to peek through the housing and actually see the buttons in my camera and to make sure there aren?t any sand in the o-ring seal. The buttons are quite hard to push sometimes, but you?ll get used to it. The strobes can be easily released by pressing the button on the handle. Sometimes I use this if I want to move one strobe, and have my buddy handheld the strobe. Unfortunately the iTTL mode is only compatible with Ikelite?s DS strobes, since I use INON strobes, I had to set the setting to manual....

...Having just been burgled, I decided to install a burglar alarm, and the best I could find for the money, was the Response RE5000S. This alarm retails at about £170. The 5000s is a wire free system, so installation is very much a piece of cake. You just screw the keypad to the wall, screw the sensors into place, put the siren/strobe on the wall outside and away you go. The alarm is zoneable, that is, you can set each sensor to be part of a zone ( zone 1 upstairs, zone 2 downstairs, zone 3 garage etc) and you can "part arm" the system if required, such as arming the downstairs zone but not the upstairs one when you go to bed.
