Stubble but no scars
Review of Wilkinsons Sword Lady Protector by
Coxy
Advantages: Virtually cut-proof.
Disadvantages: Doesn't shave as close as it could.
...I bought this razor because of the advertisements at the time - of boasts that it's razor is so sharp that it needs to be behind protective bars, which stop you from cutting yourself. And to my pleasant surprise I found it WAS protective. I could zoom up and down my legs at the spped of light without so much as a sratch! Unfortunately though the bars prevented the shave in being as close as it could have been and my legs would feel a bit stubbly, so I switched to gillette. Now, I might have the odd 'bloody' moment but at least my legs are silky smooth. No pain no gain - right!
It's not the razor for me, but I would definately recommend this to clumsy people!, or women who are lucky enough (unlike me) to have fine leg hair that doesn't get horrible and stubbly....

So Girls CAN be stubbly
Review of Immac Hair Removal Cream Bikini Line by
jackstiger
Advantages: The after cream was nice, you get a lot, theres some hope of being smooth painlessly, easy to apply
Disadvantages: horrible stubble the next day, doesn't remove all hairs effectively, expensive
...! It was fairly hard to rub in but after five minutes of constant rubbing it finally soaked into my skin and felt quite soft.
The next morning i woke up and was quite peeved. My hair had all grown back in a mass stubble patch and because you should only use this cream on hairs more than 1 inch long i was stuck with a beard where it shouldn't be. So far, i've managed to hide this embarrassing incident from my boyfriend.. but i warn all you out there - don't buy it!
So far I have tried Nair and this Immac one and neither have produced very good results. Im yet to find a solution that will without causing me a lot of pain! This cream was quite expensive but does go a long way, I'd guess you could probably get at least 4 applications from it. The spatula was great because it really eased application and i really didn't want to get the smelly...

Super stubble beware
Review of Gillette Mach 3 Razor by
KarlHalliwell
Advantages: Close and comfortable shave
Disadvantages: Possibly a bit pricey
...I like the Gillette Mach 3 razor. Not as much as I like drinking a pint of really good beer. But, I do like it. Let me explain why.
I am one of those unfortunate guys who grows a very thick and very dark super stubble. If I shave at 7am in the morning, I have a 5 o’clock shadow by 9am. No razor ever seems to be able to cope.
Over the years I have tried many solutions to this problem. I have tried two different electric shavers. Both were a complete waste of money and time.
I’ve also tried most of the wet razors from BIC, to Wilkinson Sword, to own supermarket brands, to the Gillette range.
I have even given up on the whole idea of shaving by growing a beard. This is easy for me to do and seems to only take a couple of days. The trouble is I look quite ridiculous with a beard, as I’ve got very...

The best a face full of stubble can get
Review of Gillette Mach 3 Razor by
EHKodiak
Advantages: Smooth fast shave
Disadvantages: Expensive blades
...In years gone by, back when I was a stubbly teenager, shaving seemed like such a hassle. And it was back then, especially with disposible razors and the like. But Gillette began marketing the Mach 3 just as I was reaching 17 or so, and I haven't gone back since.
So, what makes them so good? For one, it only usually requires one or two swipes across the face to remove the hair down to smooth skin, and boy is it smooth. The 3 blades feel just like one blade, and they leave you feeling fresh and clean after a good shave. It's a good starting razor for anyone with teenage kids approaching puberty, as it very rarely cuts, and is very simple and painless to use, even without shaving gel.
---
A bit about the razor -
A bar along the top of the blades that goes dull as the blades get dull, reminding you to change the blades every now...

Distinct Lack of Designer Stubble
Review of Miami Vice DVD by
Essexgirl2006
Advantages: Jamie Foxx in the shower
Disadvantages: Weak story, poor performances
...Having watched and enjoyed the spoof re-make of Starskey & Hutch a few years ago I rented this film in the hope that I might find a film on a similar vein or a least a bit of 80s nostalgia for the eponymous TV series. It just shows that I need to research films a lot more before I add them to my rental list! Firstly there is no comedy and secondly there is no 80s nostalgia - no designer stubble, electro pop soundtrack or rolled up jacket sleeves. What we have here is just a generic, present day, cop 'buddy' movie that happens to be set in Miami at least some of the time.
The film jumps straight into the action as Crockett (Colin Farrell with dodgy hair and an even dodgier moustache) and Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) are in a nightclub trying to make a bust when Crockett gets a call from one of their informants who has been working...

'Aloe', and Goodbye to Stubble!'
Review of Wilkinsons Sword Extra II for Woman by
bistro
Advantages: Gives a close, comfortable shave. Svelte and enduring, design & performance.
Disadvantages: Contains lanolin, which may dissuade some people.
...was just the right amount to lubricate the blades, thus allowing the razor to travel easily without jerking, and not too much as to make my skin dangerously slippery.
The little white 'gismo' worked a treat, and once I'd got the hang of stopping every now and again, pressing the release catch at the top, it allowed any accumulated stubble to be rinsed away.
I could sense how sharp the blades were by the almost complete silence with which the razor worked. I treated it with due respect, and in return I received one of the closest shaves I'd ever had. With NO blood letting either!
After finishing with the razor, I simply rinsed with plenty of clean, warm water, dried it, and then replaced the safety guard ready for reuse.
**RESULTS**
Inspecting the condition of my arms and legs afterwards, I observed no rashes, nicks, tingling...

Shower, Shave and be stubble free!!!
Review of Johnson's Shower and Shave Cream by
NewYork2006
Advantages: 2 in 1 shower cream and shaving cream, not too expensive, nice smell
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!
...I’m sure all women will agree that it can be a real chore keeping your legs etc silky smooth and free from stubble. Being slightly sensitive to hair removal creams, too much of a wimp to attempt to get them waxed and nearly passing out from the pain when I tried an epilator for all of 4 seconds, I have to resort to the trusty old razor. I have tried several different types of products – wet razors, electric razors, razors that have the ‘moisturising cream’ built in so no need for shaving gel etc – some of which have worked and some of which sadly have not. Being that I’m lazy and can’t be bothered with the mess of shaving cream (and usually slipping in the bath when I use it anyway!) I love a great ‘time saving’ ‘lazy girl’ solution to shaving and this is exactly what I have found with Johnson’s Shower & Shave Cream.
(There...

Smoother Legs In Just Eight Weeks???
Review of SilkyMit 3 in 1 Lotion by
sandemp
Advantages: Smells nice | moisturises legs beautifully | Slow hair re-growth (eventually)
Disadvantages: Takes Eight Weeks To Reach Full Potential
...I hate hair removal, it's either messy, painful, time-consuming or a mixture of all three. I'll therefore do anything I can to cut down the time that I need spend doing this horrible task, and was delighted to find this Silkymit 3 in 1 lotion on the shelves of my local "Savers" right next to the Silkymit hair removal gloves that I've been using for the last few years. As it was only 99p for 125ml I picked up three bottles and couldn't wait to start reducing my hair growth.
---A bit about my hairy legs---
The hair on my legs seems to grow really fast, while some people can go a couple of days between shaving (or using Mitts), I will be stubbly within 12 hours. This is a real pain, as I need to remove the hair every morning (and twice a day if it's a special evening). Even when I use creams, epilators or wax I have stubble...
