...I've recently subscribed to stuff.... and im probably not their targeted reader.. im not male.... im not really interested in technological stuff.... and did i mention that i wasnt male? looking at the cover of this publication it would be easy to mistake it as a men's mag like FHM, for invariably there will be a semiclad beautiful woman on the cover.... but this is where the similarities end.... this is a mag devoted to new and interesting stuff... hence the title of the publication i thoroughly enjoy poring through the mag lokoking at new "stuff" that has hit the markets or is yet to hit the markets simply because... the stuff in the mags... looks cool... looks pretty.. looks cute.... u name it they've got it... also it doesnt hurt that its a gd publication to read with ur boyfren/husband/partner as u come across as very... ...Within an hour of Eloise being presented with her pack of 3 tubs of pearlised soft stuff £2.40 in the ELC sale (normal price £3.00) and her Soft Stuff Crazy Creepy Crawlies kit £8.00 in the sale (usual price £10.00) I relented and admitted to my husband that he hadn't gone over the top in keeping a promise to buy some more playdoh. We (Eloise, Mummy, Daddy, and Uncle Alex who has come on a visit)were all having great fun and it was already a worthwhile cost for such a great toy. So far she has had Bob the Builder playdoh that she was bought for her 2nd birthday and some cheap equivalent that had a nice "squidging set" and whilst both were good and if any little bits were accidentally trod into the carpet they didn't stain and could be easily hoovered up. Advantages: Keeps my daughter busy for ages
Disadvantages: After only one or two goes ita always ends up as one big blob!!

...ELC call it Soft Stuff. My daughter calls it Squidgy Stuff. Whatever the name, it is a wonderful creation. It may get squashed into the carpet, walls, clothes or hair. But it keeps my three year old quiet for hours. She will quite happily sit there at the table rolling the balls of coloured dough into flat shapes and then creating all manner of wondrous things. Her imagination runs wild. her latest game is to cut it into shapes and stick candles into it to create an endless number of birthday cakes. I have to draw the line when she tries to force feed her teddy to eat a concoction of pink and green biscuits! Usually, before we start with the "squidy stuff", the ground rules are set. 1. ...I love all kinds of music, really, but in my private listening time I tend to listen to complicated music or expressive singer-songwriter types- my tastes run from Jethro Tull and Frank Zappa to James Taylor and Jackson Browne. I had begun to get interested in Jazz- listening to Bill Bruford and Brand X, Weather Report, those kinds of things.
