Advantages: Easy to use, cheap and good quality printing
Disadvantages: Does use quite a lot of ink whilst printing

...I have always gone for the Epson printers for some unknown reason and when my latest printer, an Epson Stylus PHOTO RX425 started playing up i thought it about time i upgraded, also the playing up of the printer was causing a problem with the childrens homework so needed to be sorted ASAP. So off i went to my local PC World on the hunt for a bargin, not that you ever get any of those in PC World!! But i was in luck there was an offer on the Epson Stylus DX4050 at only £39.99 for an all in one printer. I was chuffed as i'd expected to be spending around £70 - £80 for a new one. Apparently this model is the European version of the Epson Stylus DX4000 which is the UK model, however you can buy the European model cheaper - typical that is for UK. Advantages: Price, Quality, ease of use, gives you more control over pictures
Disadvantages: If just just want to print normal photos, still cheaper to use a photo shop

...decent quality printing paper, because if you use bog standard paper, however good the printer is, you will not get the best end result. I wanted quality, so got some proper photo quality printing paper, and the photos are outstanding! I am not totally sure about the economy of using the product, as prices at photo shops have been geting better, meaning uunless there is a reduced price in the ink and photo paper, it will always be a bit more expensive to have your own photo printer, but in my opinion it opens the doors for a lot of opportunities, you have an open canvas, you dont only have to use the photo that you have taken as "a photo", but you can (using a photoshop style program) get a lot more out of one photo than if you took it to a photo shop! In my opinion, this Epson Stylus Photo R285 is the best photo printer that I have...
