...Our Epson Stylus C46 was bought 3 or 4 years ago as a standby printer, as our Epson CX3200 was showing signs of advancing age. We paid around £50 for the C46 and were immediately pleased with its performance. Although a little slow, it made up for this by being easy to use, and producing good quality print and pictures. We were, therefore, dismayed to receive the message 'parts in this printer are now beyond their service life' , following which the C46 refused to function, having clearly aged much faster than the CX3200 which still struggles on. The problem is then whether it is cost-effective to repair a comparatively low price printer, assuming it is not possible to buy replacement parts. Or do we just consider such printers as disposable?... Read review

Advantages: Quick, Cheap and Long Lasting

...I cannot speak too highly of the Epson Stylus C66. I have had problems with every single printer i've used, either breaking down or not being of the highest quality. The Stylus c66, has however, yet to give me ANY problems whatsoever (touchwood). My technological knowledge is not vast, but my hadns on experience with this printer tells me that it is extremely good. Pages are printed quickly and to a high standard. You can choose also to what standard it should print at. The default is "text" which is ideal for finalised documents such as letters. However there are other settings, such as "draft" which can be used to print out essays so that you can proofread. "Drafts" print in grey, are readable and waste little ink. Advantages: Low Price - Photo Quality

...I have had 3 different printers in the last 10 years, and the Epson Stylus C62 is my 4th. I decided I wanted a photo quality printer, but was on a budget and was looking to pay under £70. I wanted something that would give me decent quality photographs, but that could handle all my other printing requirements (general documents, letters etc). Although about 18 months old now, at the time of purchase it was considered a compact model and is certainly good if you are limited on space. The price then was good and I am sure now you could pick one up for much less. The software (printer driver) that it came with was easy to install and I was quick to set up and get working. The quality of photographs is good, I wouldn't say excellent, but definitely of a moderate to good quality. However, I have nothing else positive to say about... Read review

...I recently bought a Epson Stylus C84 when my previous printer finally demised. Although I print primarily text rather that pictures or photos, the C84 seemed to be the best option considering the price (I paid just over £80), and the print speed. So far I have been very satisfied with the printer. The print cartridges are easy to load, and the fact that you have separate ones for each color means that if you do a lot of black and white printing, you are not wasting the color ones. The print quality seems excellent, as does paper handling, and the print speed is truly impressive - especially on sheets which do not have a lot to print on them which seem to literally fly through the machine. The printer is a little noisy, but less so than others I have experienced, and the black and silver looks very smart on the desk. Although... Read review

...I had a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 560C for nearly four years, during which time I was involved in producing extensive printed material for conferences and other events. I reckon that during that time my HP printer handled at least fifty thousand sheets of A4 paper, giving top quality results to the last, until finally it fell apart all at once from sheer exhaustion. I replaced it with an Epson Stylus Color 440. The driver was terrible (out of date - had to get a new one off the Net) the printer was very noisy and it lasted the obligatory 12.5 months (how DO they get them to do that...?) I was not used heavily and probably handled less than a thousand sheets. It died. Big time. I have gone back to Hewlett Packard - I never should have left. Now I have a Deskjet 710C which is quiet, reliable, fast, and most of all... it... Read review

Advantages: Inexpensive, reliable, good quality print outs
Disadvantages: Slow to print, quite noisy

...Had this printer for a good number of years now and it has never let me down. Print outs are of a good quaity in black and white or colour. Print outs can be a liitle slow to be produced and the printer is quite noisy whilst printing. Ink cartridge replacements can be found quite cheaply on the internet and are really easy to change. The Epson Stylus C44UX has some good features when you ask it to print, it has 5 quality settings, 3 print options, many paper sizes and quality of papers to chose from. Ink levels can clearly be seen when printing. From time to time Ithe print heads need cleaning and this is also very easy to do, you can check the alignment of the print heads, do a nozzle check along with clean the printer heads with a click of a button. .... ---COMPATABILTY--- The printers that support DURABrite ink are:- Any printer in the Epson Stylus C64 Series. Any printer in the Epson Stylus C66 Series. Cheaper cartridges will work, but as DURABrite is unique to a few printers, if you're buying one of the printers above, you'll probablly want to have 'DURABrite Ink' on your shopping list every couple of months (depends how much you use your printer). ...Epson Stylus D42 Plus I bought this printer along with my new PC which i purchased from PC World a while back. It was free as part of the package so it seemed like a good offer to me. I have used Epson's in the past and i've been told that they produce pretty good printouts for relatively low cost. I went to my local ink cartridge refull shop and it they seemed to sell a large range of epson third party/remanufactured ink cartiridges which was certainly encouraging.
