Genius NewSketch 1212 III
Review of Genius NewSketch 1212HRIII v.2 - digitizer, cursor (puck), stylus by
bindie
Advantages: A4 Size Sketch Pad, the number of pressure points
Disadvantages: Big, wired stylus
...I bought this because I needed to draw in depth CAD diagrams. It looked good because it was A4 size so I though that I could get a lot of detail into the diagram.
I opened the box, took out all the contents, and found the installation book, and another piece of paper. It showed me how to connect the tablet to my PC, I though it would be easy, and that I would have to look at the instructions, but I found my self looking at them after about 5 minutes.
Once the tablet, stylus and mouse were connected, I found that I could control the mouse with the stylus while dragging it across the tablet (pretty cool). When I eventually got down to doing my diagrams, I found that there was no drawing software provided. So I had to order a software package.
I would have thought that the product would have come with some kind of drawing package...

Ortofon Styluses
Review of Ortofon Qbert Stylus by
DjCw
Advantages: lighweight, slimline, durable, reasonable cheap, very good quality.
Disadvantages: lightweight, slimline, some Djs do prefer bigger and heavier cartridges and styluses.
...As a Hip Hop Dj for over 10 years I have always used Ortofon, personally I think they make the best cartridges and styluses, because they are slimline, it makes it easier to find particular grooves on records, especially when trying to find a groove quickly not just cueing.
Other cartridges are a lot more bulkier, which can make it hard to see exactly where you are putting the stylus.
I am definitley buying the Q-Bert Stylus though, The last set of Ortofon styluses I bought was in 2005. A pair for teaching at youth clubs (so they are robust!!!) and a pair for home and club use. They can last a long time. On the reaI though. I do have only one stylus left though.
Due to me being RECKLESS....

BRILLIANT!!
Review of Vtech - Pre Computer Genius by
fumo
Advantages: fun, educational, good quality
Disadvantages:
...Vtech’s new ‘Pre Computer Genius’ for ages 7-10, is as close a child is going to get to owning a real laptop pc. It has a mouse and mouse-mat, a QWERTY keyboard with proper buttons, etc etc…
The laptop is a transparent blue. There are 51 activities available including English, maths and trivia and there will also be cartridges available soon to add even more (we contacted Vtech who said they would be coming soon). When the computer is turned on you are introduced Douglas Daring, an adventurer, who is also featured in the games. Children are also introduced to six language activities using Spanish, German and French. There is also a homework wizard, which my daughter hasn’t tried out yet.
What she has done though is use the art activities to design a card, which she then printed. With this computer you do not have to buy a separate...

Point, Click & Draw with Greater Precision
Review of Wacom Volito digitizer by
Deru
Advantages: Reduces RSI risk, Fast for graphics, Comfort, Price
Disadvantages: Takes some getting used to, Not for everyone
...A graphics tablet is a pen-based pointing device for your computer, often used by graphics professionals. They consist of a pad, that can vary in size, and a stylus, used like you would use a regular pen on paper. To use the device, you move the stylus around just above, or on the surface of the tablet to move the mouse pointer on your computer screen. 'Proper' ones have pressure sensitivity so how hard you press down determines the intensity of the strokes. This is particularly useful for graphics artists using an air brush tool as you can imagine. Graphics tablets seem to be one of those devices that do not get that much recognition even though the idea of using a pen to point and click isn't just used with tablets. PDA's use them too! Anyone who can use a pen/pencil can use them!

Nintendo DS Stylus Pack
Review of Nintendo Official Nintendo DS Lite 3 Stylus Set - Black by
rose1986
Advantages: Wont damage your screen like other objects will. Good price
Disadvantages: Can get lost easily as they are small and delicate
...Nintendo DS Stylus
What is a Stylus?
A Stylus is the name given to the pen-like instrument used to operate the touch screen on the Nintendo DS Consoles. The stylus is made of plastic and is shaped in the style of an ordinary pen, although it is smaller and a lot thinner. The stylus' have a small, softer plastic point so that you can play your DS with ease and hit the finer points on your DS. Obviously, using your finger etc does work on the touch screen but you cannot hit things in a smaller area with ease and using other objects may damage your screen.
When you purchase your Nintendo, you will be provided with a Stylus and possibly two. They are extremely easy to pick-up and very cheap as well. There are also a range of colours available, so you can coordinator your stylus to match your DS! Also, there are glow in the dark stylus...

As simple as it gets...
Review of Compaq Cover Grey by
ben-lloyd
Advantages: Simple, effective, useful
Disadvantages: Cover occasionally gets in the way
...This iPaq accessory is about as good as they come. Barring the PCMCIA/Battery jacket, this is probably the most useful iPaq "jacket" available.
In a stroke of genius, Compaq/HP came up with a way of charging users extra money for a design consideration that should ship as standard with all iPaqs - that the huge colour screen is probably going to get damaged if it doesn't have a cover.
The jacket is very simple to use - slide the iPaq in the top, clip the plastic front over and the case and screen of the iPaq are protected. Brilliant! But to go just a little further, there are three more advantages; 1. The contacts used by the iPaq to communicate with "intelligent" jackets, such as the compact flash or PCMCIA add-ons are protected when this case is used. 2. The plastic screen cover opens to the left or right (depending on whether you...

Epson stylus color printer
Review of Epson Stylus Color 440 by
willsmj
Advantages: good quality
Disadvantages: few
...The Epson stylus 440 color printer is a robust, good quality printer. Having used one now for some two years I have a lot of faith in it. The quality of the print is good, and it is very easy to use. The ink cartridges are not over the top and can be bought in bulk, making them reasonably priced. It's self cleaning facilities are a premium. It is the second Epson I have had and the ongoing improvements by the company towards its printers have resulted in a very good product indeed. The printers are starting to age now and can be purchased second hand at around £40. This is a bargain if it is in good condition, worth a punt....

not bad.
Review of Epson Stylus Color 440 by
anthonydowsett
Advantages: good quality print outs.
Disadvantages: a bit slow for impatient people.
...We were given the Epson stylus 440 in a package deal with our new computer we bought from time. And let me tell you the time it takes to print good big detailed pictures is quite slow but when they come out the quality is absolutly amazing. I dont mind waiting for it to print as long as it is of a good quality when it comes out. Ive printed quite alot things out using the Epson stylus 440 and there has never been a difference in quality. So hats off to you Epson you have a good printer in the stylus 440 and i would buy your products again.4/5...
