Wacom Bamboo One Stylus Pen-- My Review --

Advantages: feels and looks good, customisable buttons
Disadvantages: scratchy for some, buttons easy to click by mistake

...The Wacom Bamboo One Pen is the stylus for Wacom Bamboo Graphics tablets, and unlike many graphic tablet pens, has hosts of extra features and functionality. LOOK & FEEL The stylus is a sleek, polished looking thing that sits comfortably in the hand and is a very similar size to a fountain pen. It sits well for use, but the buttons on the pen (see photo above) are a little too easy to click unintentionally, so make sure the pen stays at the same angle in the hand. The stylus is silver, with a gloss top half and matt bottom half, and the buttons lie a couple of centimetres from the nib itself. The nib is white and a good size, small enough to lend accuracy but large enough not to be scratchy, and the stylus curves gently into the nib, which is a seperate piece of plastic. A Gimmicky Pen

Advantages: None once the initial gimmick wore off
Disadvantages: Fails frequently to select the correct function

...I had already purchased some spare styli for my PDA, whilst in Maplins I noticed a pen for £9.99 which had a red and black biro a mechanical pencil and a stylus all in the one package. I did think that £10 was a bit much, but was feeling flush so I purchased the Belkin 4 in 1 pen. The sleek silver shaft which split in two to refill was nice and shiny. The bottom portion of the pen was of a black plastic nature and the tip once again being silver did add a little style to the overall look of the pen which to be fair did look quite good. It seemed pretty much like a normal multi-colour except for one knacky little feature. On the top of the pen on the outside there were 4 symbols one for each of the functions. Advantages: Uses light reflective technology rather than just covering, high quality, it works!
Disadvantages: Price, they test on animals :(

...an equivalent (or better!) highlighter from a cruelty-free company. When Touche Eclat first emerged it was revolutionary, but to be honest now there are so many other light reflecting pens on offer that finding a suitable and cheaper replacement shouldn?t be hard....

An everyday stick pen

...I had to write a note today and I used a Steadtler 430m. stick pen. Looking through my stationary drawer and discovered several staedtler stick pens. Steadtler 430 m stick pens are available in Blue, red, black and green ink. These pens are as you can see from the picture have a clear plastic shaft/barrel , This is 13cm long, just less than a cm in diameter. The shaft is a hexagon with 6 straight sides this is good as it mean the pen does not easily roll of the table. You can see the ink through the plastic, its not easy to distinguish the colour from a full pen though.. At one end of the pen is a coloured stopper at the other a strong metal ball point nib. There is a plastic lid which has a clip on it so you can clip it onto the edge of your paper or jacket pocket. This lid is coloured to match the ink. This lid is also...

...Its amazing the variety of simple stick pens I have in my stationary draw next to my computer. When tidying up the other day I came across some Papermate stick 2020 pens. This ball point pen is available in red, blue, black and green, they are available in either a fine or medium nib. The fine one giving a line 0.3 mm width, the medium line 0.4 mm width. These pens have an outer casing of the same colour as the ink inside you can not see how much ink is left through the pen. The lid which has a moulded clip to hook the pen on a paper or onto your jacket pocket is the same colour. These pens measure 14.1/2 cm. ...I am now nearly 18 years old and I first picked up this model of pen was I about 7 years old. I remember the pride when I was given the handwriting pen by my primary school teacher- those who demonstrated good hand writing would be awarded a pen at the end of term and allowed to write with this for work instead of just a standard pencil. And to this day I have one in my pencil case- obviously not the original.. but they do last a fairly long time and don't tend to dry out unless you leave the cap off constantly. They are washable ink which means that you can get it off clothes (which I still manage to mess now...) and off your fingers if you have a strange writing style like mine! ...Now, when my best friend and professional drinking partner showed me the contents of her Christmas stocking last year, little seemed to be out of the ordinary. Typical seasonal goodies- tangerines, nuts & choccie coins, twinned with those helpful things that Santa puts in for everyday life- cotton wool, a toothbrush and hideous but very comfy pants I thought little more of it. What did catch my eye was what looked like a rather robust fountain pen. It was brought to my attention that this was as close to a miracle as you can get. And boy was she right! We all make mistakes! Pilot frixion pen

...My son has recently "gone into pen" at school (very proud mummy!) and he was provided with the classic Berol handwriting pen - the red one with the blue tip (sound familiar?!) but he really couldn't get on with it at all and I can't understand how these have been recommended for a first pen for such a long time; they are quite uncomfortable to hold, the nib is scratchy and the ink does not flow smoothly across the paper - but I'm guessing that they are cheap. After weeks of struggling with it, I went searching for the perfect pen for him and I came across the Pilot Frixion Erasable Rollerball Pen. To be honest, when I read what this pen was supposed to do I didn't really believe it. Review of Epson Stylus DX 4000

worth paying extra for a decent pen

Advantages: smooth writing and even ink flow
Disadvantages: more expensive than your average pen

...Whilst I may scrimp on cosmetics I also like to spend a little bit more on things which are worth paying for. In my profession I am required to take notes and given that I use a pen on a regular basis I feel that I should invest in a decent pen. Parker pens have been around for years and I have found them to be of good quality, reliable and extremely comfortable to write with. I have a fountain pen (which admittedly I do not use much), this jotter pen and the matching pencil and the ball point pen. I find that parker pens are more smoother to write with than cheap pens and the ink flows much better and I have never had the experience of a leaky pen.
