...The first submarine simulation game I played when I was a kid and despite its retro status, I still find myself playing it once in a while. Even though I mainly played the Amiga version when I was a kid, the Mega Drive version is literally the same and I'm currently trying it out again years later through an emulator.
Plotline
Taking place during the Cold War between the USA and the Soviet Union. 688 Attack Sub uses the what if scenarios and shows the worst what could have happened all those years ago. Starting from minor threats between the two countries and eventually turning into a world war.
Gameplay
The entire interface gives you that instant feeling that you're inside a submarine and in total command. As you can see from one of my pictures, there are several stations that need to be commanded and waiting for orders...

Guidford-raised, he first made an impact in 2003, and has continued to make an impression on the Drum & bass world in particular with his own material, and also remixes of other popular artists in the style and other closely-associated ones, but once he made a mainstream impact in 2008, it was decided that he should compile a proper album of his works for the first time, as we get here.
1. ?Let The Story Begin?
The album begins well with a powerful track that livens you up from the beginning, as you tend to expect of an album in such a genre and so after some time spend building things up with some dark sound effects, it dramatically breaks down in a harsh way and leads you right into what the general sounds of the album will be like from that point...

Advantages: Brilliant for sorting out all those "troublesome words" Disadvantages: Unlike Bryson's other books this is purely a reference book.
...Beware of "buy two get the third book free" at airports. You tend to rush your judgements and buy things based on the author's name rather than reading the blurb.
Hence the fact that I ended up lying on a beach in Thailand reading the difference between "Yours sincerely" and "Yours faithfully".
Originally it was published as a subbing dictionary (sub editors check spelling and grammar on newspapers and magazines) and as such this is indispensible. No matter how good your high school English is there will always be one or two words that catch you out and this book is the perfect solution.
As a present for the pedant/grammatically challenged/student in your life this is a brilliant book. for someone who is looking for a good read it is not. It seems churlish to point out: but this is a dictionary. Pure and simple....
...I'm on holiday at the moment, and although I'm welcome to make dinner in my fellas parents kitchen, sometimes I'm not sure if food is earmarked for big meals later. So,with the fridge a bit bare the other day, and only a mammoth joint of beef and a few bits of veg being present , we popped to the co-op and came home with this, costing just £1 on a trial price.
It comes in a clear plastic tray, with a photo of the cooked sub on the printed top label, which also tells us the weight, ingredients, and nutritional information. The sub comes in a cardboard sleeve that goes into the microwave with it, and to cook you simply microwave for a minute,turn over, microwave for a minute more, let stand, then eat. Very simple . There is also a sachet of mayo in the pack.
With my sub cooked an cooled, I say down to enjoy it . It's quite a nicely sized...

...taste like a big turd. Luckily, they don't taste anything like one (and yes, I do know what a big turd tastes like, before you ask. I had to eat one for the purposes of this review. That's commitment, folks.) They taste delicious. Apart from the cheese, which is yer usual processed crap, all the ingredients are lovely and fresh and flavoursome and they're pretty generous with them too.
Pricing: a six inch sub will set you back about two fifty, which a foot long one being about four quid. They also do a "Sub of the Day" deal for £1.99, in which one of the sandwiches is selected from the menu to be sold at a bargain price. And they do drinks and crisps and all that kind of malarkey.
So yeah, a really nice place to get lunch I think. Reasonably priced and outrageously tasty. Probably pretty healthy too, having salad and stuff in it. You...

For those who have never tried eating in Subway, allow me to explain what they are. Subway is a chain of sandwich restaurants. They are located all over the country and can be found in most towns. They basically sell fresh ingredients which they make up into sandwiches and salads for you as you wait. This means that you are able to choose exactly what you want in your order, and what you don't want too. One of their main lines is submarine sandwiches which you can buy in foot long or half a sub (as a 6 inch sandwich) if a foot is too large.
Recently they have introduced a "Halal meats" line which is available in many of the bigger stores, look out for the signs in participating stores..
Many stores do breakfast wraps/subs and there are also all day snacks available such as mini sub...

...I would have to be the first to admit that the idea of your average sandwich is, just a little bit, pretty much one of the most boring foods in my top five of boring foods. They remind me too much of my school years packed lunch, not that my mum did a bad packed lunch might I add. They take to much time and make to much mess if you want anything fancy, what with the always tedious task of slicing cheese and onions or cutting cucumber so it?s back to the trusted ham and mustard in sliced white bread for me again. I am so fed up of the same old sandwich so where do I go from here. I got the nearest Subway outlet that?s where I go. I?m not talking about public transport either but the well publicised fresh healthy food outlet.

Review of Subway Sandwiches
Advantages: High power, Good Response, Simple to use and install Disadvantages: None
...I bought and installed this subwoofer in my 106 with the standard mid-top speakers and was very impressed with the results. At 300 watts RMS it might not seem as powerful as other subs available such as the 500W Fusions but it more than makes up for this with a clear and deep bass response. Using the 30hz bass test track it was certainly enough to make my car rattle - so any more would have been a waste.
The FLi has an adjustable crossover frequency for different types of music - set it low for deep growling basslines such as those found in DnB or higher for the kick found in trance and techno. You can set this to your preference as well as the gain to adjust how bassy you want your music.
Being an active sub, you won't need an additional amplifier as it has one built in. This makes it both good value for money and simple to set up...
Advantages: GENERATES LOW NOTEs LIKE NOTHING ELSE, AND CAN DRIVE THEM TO THE LIMIT Disadvantages: NEED SPACE FOR THE BOX, AND HIGH POWER AMP

I have had these subs for a while and they really do some damage.
Only thing to consider when choosing the box for these beasts is you have to make sure you have some room, as a too small box will sound flat.
You need to have a decent box to produce the low note this can give off.
If you do not have the room then do what i did and reverse them so they are facing into the box, this will make a huge diffrence.
I have tried pushing these to the limit and they have never faulted.
Keep in mind they do need some wearing in before you can really give it the full going through, but once this is done it will keep going and going.
Pair this up with the HCCA amps and you will be laughing....
