Subaru Legacy 2.5i SE Tourer (estate) 2004 model

Advantages: Original, refined, handling and ride, reliability, dealers
Disadvantages: Highish CO2 rating

..., brilliant strip of black tarmac than here, suffice to say that I rate this probably as one of the top two "driving" roads in the country. Anyway, on this particular October day I am behind the wheel of my (then) 170bhp V6 Vauxhall Vectra. By any standards it is not a slow car, although even then, this was a 1996 model - the first of the "flying door mirror" type, it did not have a great reputation for handling. A bit of a brawn rather than brain type of car you could have described it as I suppose. However ahead of me is a completely basic 2.0 litre Subaru Legacy estate. I'm building up quite a sweat in the Vectra just attempting to keep this (presumably local driver) in sight. His car has a good 30bhp less than mine, a filthy dirty four year old white brick of an estate car and in the end I all I can do is just ease off and watch him...

Subaru Outback Station Wagon 2.5 (2004) review

Advantages: Ride quality, AWD, road clearance/height, visibility, station wagon 5 door
Disadvantages: Cockpit convenience design eg cup holder positions, lack of cubbyholes

...I have had this car for a year now, I live in the country on the Canadian Prairies and have therefore had the opportunity to put it through it's paces. I am also a past off-roader with experience with SUVs and old Land Rovers, as well as many other kinds of vehicle. The very best part of this vehicle is the "ride"; the best single word I have for it's performance on many difference surfaces such as gravel, snow, ice, sand as well as "blacktop" is GRACEFUL. Eg. on gravel it takes a lot to pull it around on the road compared to ordinary vehicles or part time 4*4s. The higher ground clearnce as compared to the Legacy and other standard cars gives the opportunity to explore a bit down tracks and trails you would otherwise not do even with AWD. It is also useful when the roads have not been cleared after a snowfall. Being...

The ultimate Legacy

Advantages: An excellent allround luxury car, for a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Bit heavy on the fuel

...This car is everything the 2.5 auto is (read my review on that), and a little bit more. I said that I always look forward to driving the 2.5 auto as it is such a superb ride in every respect. Well this car is all that, and more. It just has those little extra touches that make you feel like a king! The seats inside this car are amazingly comfortable ? and they really do look the business. All the other little extras, such as climate control, are all those little touches which all go together to bring perfection. Though the lux-pack legacy is a few thousand more than the standard, I really believe it is worth it. Consider what you are getting for your money, and compare it to the competition ? you wont be disappointed. If you have the money and are considering a car of this nature, just buy it!...

An excellent powerhorse

Advantages: Powerful, stylish and massive
Disadvantages: Likes to drink fuel

...One look at the redesigned body of this car, and you realise that it really is something special! The car just looks as though it fits together perfectly. The alloys which come as standard on this vehicle look superb. The colours, which are available, are also really special ? be daring and go for the gold colour. It really looks special! This is a car I get to drive quite often, and always look forward to it. The ride is just so smooth, and with the 2.5 litre boxer engine is frightfully quick. This is one of those cars that was really made to be an automatic. The manual version doesn?t quite have the same luxurious feel to it when driving. Inside, it is remarkably spacious, with bags of legroom. It is all-round a truly excellent car....

Three Years In The Outback

Advantages: Ruggedly stylish, superbly reliable, ultra safe handling
Disadvantages: Slightly hard ride

...I bought my Subaru Outback in March 1998. All good things must come to an end and this is my retrospective of those three years of ownership. I have to admit that I am a dedicated Subaru owner (but I guess you either are or you aren?t). I had two Legacy estates and two GX estates prior to this ? some 20 years with the same marque overall. The Outback was introduced into the UK a year or so before it arrived in the US. This is the Japanese built right hand drive model and is imported on a very strict quota system. Consequently the Outback has always been in limited supply and is something of a curiosity on the road. I chose the automatic transmission option. So, why did I buy it? I have loved both previous Legacy Estates. The Outback just added a certain ?something?. The styling is bold, manly and distinctive with its upright...

Subaru backwards reads U R A BUS

Advantages: performance, anonymity, comfort
Disadvantages: Only available as parallel import

...Subaru: a company with a severe personality disorder. They are known in this country for three of the most diverse cars available: you can select either a pocket-rocket Impreza Turbo, usually painted bright Kingfisher blue with a huge wing, loud exhaust and banzai driver; a rather good ?soft-roader? mini 4x4 called the Forrester, or a sturdy estate called the Legacy, usually seen covered in farmyard muck and driven by the sort of ladies who wear sensible shoes and a scarf all year. One day the engineers must have had a few too many glasses of Sake and got bored: ?Let?s combine the Impreza with the Legacy?. It must have sounded like a good idea at the time. So this is what they did: Recipe for GT-B: Step one: Take one boring farmers estate car. Add a little wing at the back and front, with side skirts, which fall off as soon...

Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X Estate

Advantages: Comfortable, fast and reliable
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption

...The Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X is a really good car - if only it had a BMW badge on the boot then it would get the recognition it derves. Okay, so the 2.5 drinks petrol like it's going out of fashion - but you know that when you buy a 2.5! The engine is smooth and powerful, but does like revs. It'll just about beat 60mph in second gear which makes for great overtaking. The handling is good for such a large estate car; it's no sports car but it is sure footed and consistent. The boot is huge, particularly with the seats down. The interior is roomy all round and there's plenty of gadgets to play with. Mine had SatNav which was good when it was working - two units were replaced under warranty until the dealer realised that the problem was with the aerial... Ford dealers don't seem to be any better or any worse than the rest, but they are...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT

Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)

...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money, it is...

A Dangerous Legacy. "Legacy" DVD

Advantages: Fast paced action movie. Bargain price.
Disadvantages: Felt the movie was geared towards making Mr Hasselhoff look good!

...Review of ?Legacy? DVD format. Production Year: 2002. Genre- Action/Adventure . Classification: 15 years and over ASIN B00006LSFP. Run time 102 minutes. The DVD Legacy is from Prism Leisure, it is an action/adventure movie The DVD I am reviewing is a one disc standard edition, the only special feature included in the DVD is a chapter selection. Cast The main roles are taken by David Hasselhoff and Rod Steiger. The Plot Hasselhoff plays war photo journalist, Jack Scott. Jack is a photographer who leaves no stone unturned in his quest for the ultimate shot. The movie starts with Jack in an Asian war zone, he risks his own life and safety to capture a picture of war atrocities being committed by rebel factions in the area. As a result, Jack photographs a sensitive situation and comes to the attention...
