...This is a report about Europe’s largest shopping centre - SCS, which stands for Shopping City Süd.
HOW TO GET THERE
If you live in the UK, then it is certainly not just around the corner, because you’d have to fly to Vienna, Austria, first.
From Vienna, you can drive to the south of Vienna (Süd means South), direction Graz, take exit 7 off the motorway A2 which will bring you directly to the Shopping City Süd, just outside Vienna.
There is a large car park around the SCS which offers about 8000 spaces. However, it often is quite full, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
By public transport, take the tram (Badner Bahn) which leaves at Opera in the city centre, and it will take you about 35 minutes to arrive at the Shopping City Süd.
A BRIEF HISTORY

...Shopping City Süd (SCS) as it is known is one of the largest Shopping Centres in Europe, and is situated south of Vienna, although well connected to the public transport system. To get there you can either take the Badner Bahn (looks like a tram but is really a train), which leaves regularly from opposite the Opera house and takes approximately half an hour to get to Vösendorf (the station you should get out at is Vösendorf SCS). Otherwise there is a free bus to IKEA (also leaving from the Opera House ? although you have to pay to get back (EUR 1.45) ? departure times are on the IKEA website at www.ikea.at).
The Badner Bahn costs EUR 3 (£2) one way or if you have a travelcard for Vienna (zone 100) then it is just EUR 1.50. The Badner Bahn stops about 200m from one of the entrances to SCS. Otherwise of course there is the option...
Advantages: Puts a smile on your face. Contains some of Sigur Ros' best songs. Thought-provoking Disadvantages: Non-english lyrics may put people off. Calm and mystical sound lacks direction occationally.
...which is my favorite. For the most part it is the 'one man and his piano' but the finale comes in, and your spine tingles. A orchestra and boys choir provide you with an amazing moment, which makes your think about all the good things, and sad things in your life. The end, even if loud, is never noisy. Rank: 1
To someone who already likes this band, Meğ Suğ is a must have album, one which is refreshingly new, but still contains the reasons why they were liked to begin with. To a potential new fan, this appeals to those who like the calmer and reflecting side of music. It may appeal to people who like slower rock, or even classical music. For me, the best album of 2008 so far....
Advantages: Minimal packaging, cheap, for all skin types, cleanses well, contains no animal by-products. Disadvantages: Not practical for holidays, the scent isn't to everyone's taste.
Advantages: Leaves you clean & fresh smelling, sensitive skin friendly, has a weird ingredient - lol Disadvantages: When you run out, the price of some of the pruducts...
