Living Out of a Suitcase

Advantages: Exciting, fun, unpredictable
Disadvantages: Tiring, confusing and it's a lifestyle, not just a job.

...I am momentarily on a euphoric high as I have been ?non-opped? tomorrow. This means that the airline doesn?t require me and is an extra day off for me-which doesn?t count towards my days off. I also have days off, annual leave AND a couple of trips coming up which has made me fell (for a short time!) in love with my job again. I actually find the job itself (pointing out the exits, serving tea and coffee, clearing in, being nice to people) quite dull. I do this job solely for the travel benefits; I don?t even like people very much! For me, it?s all about the destination, not the journey. Leave the suitcase behind!

Advantages: Push with one fingertip - light as a feather!
Disadvantages: Bulky and heavy

...for newborn, carseat, carseat apron, pump and raincover .... for just £275. Reduces to only £240 if you open an account card! With most packages you have to pay extra for any extra bits which really inflates the price. Travel system means that you can lift baby out of the car in carseat and place into chassis of the pushchair without disturbing baby. Was a lot cheaper than versions from other manufacturers. Overall we have been v. pleased with the three-wheeler however it does have it's drawbacks. ************************************************* I find it very heavy to lift in and out of the car boot which means that I have had to buy a secondary buggy to leave in the car boot for shopping trips etc... Cannot take it on holiday - no chance of fitting in the boot with suitcase and everything else unless you have a people carrier type...

Review of Mothercare Urban Detour Xtreme three wheeler travel system

Try getting through customs with THAT suitcase!

Advantages: Bleak, brutal and quite emotional
Disadvantages: Ending was a bit of a letdown; not to everyone's tastes

...quite slow, although for the most part is zips along nicely, and at 90 minutes it never outstays its welcome. Also, we are shown how the gang abused Anthony in a series of arty black and white flashbacks, always accompanied by a kind of country, acoustic guitar-based music. These get gradually more and more sickening, and they aren't easy to watch, especially with the bizarre contrast of the background music. The most memorable part of this film though is the riveting, ferocious performance by Paddy Considine. He is truly terrifying at points, and he sometimes erupts into violence (the first meeting in the pub springs to mind), whilst at other times his character seems really macabre and sick in the head (the suitcase scene). Review of Dead Man's Shoes (DVD)

I know they can do it so why dont they

Advantages: It's good
Disadvantages: but it could be so much better

...The lesson to be learnt from bush's Razorblade Suitcase album is that you should never let Steve Albini produce anything if you want to get it right. The man may be king of badly recorded hardcore but that does not really qualify him to produce a band like bush. I would not say that this album was a bad job as it has got some fairly huge tunes on it but in no way is it anywhere near the standard of the previous album, 16 stone. The track 'Swallowed' is a good song but once again we have the situation where the big single from an album just sticks out like a sore thumb. Bush should have stuck to just playing huge songs with a passion instead of trying to get too clever about it all which is what they seen to have done here....

nearly as good as 16 stone

Advantages: some amazing songs
Disadvantages: none

...I?ve never understood my so many people hate bush and even less why so many people have never heard of them ? well at least not until The science of things. Razorblade Suitcase may not be as good as 16 stone but it?s not far of. When you get bored (doesn?t happen often I know) of 16 stone listen to this one. Greedy fly has got to be one of their best songs, swallowed is also up there. I have heard that there is another new album on the way in the not too distant future, I hope for all our sakes that it is better then The Science of Things, I understand that bands want to move forward and all that but sometimes I really don?t see the point....

Review of Razorblade Suitcase - Bush

Has anyone seen my suitcase.....

Advantages: Well signposted in Korean and English, a good sized airport
Disadvantages: A very long 36 kilometres from Seoul, with little convenient public transport

...morning by the hapless travellor who had mistaken my suitcase for theirs, the airport staff had reunited me with my possesions within a few short hours. All of the staff I encountered were polite and helpful - nothing seems to be too much trouble. The only major downside of the airport is the location. It is a long way from Seoul itself, and at present the public transport service to the airport is virtually nonexistant, so you do have to rely on taxis. However in comparison to some airports I have visited recently (*cough* Lisbon *cough*), it rounds off or starts a journey perfectly comfortably....

Jacqueline Wilson tackles issues such as death (Vicky Angel), divorce (The Suitcase Kid), living in care homes (Tracey Beaker) and manic depression (The Illustrated Mum). The books are also full of references to modern day life. However, the issues in the pages and the emotions of the characters are timeless and universal. Jacqueline Wilson does not simplify her characters emotions or finish her stories with "happily ever after". Despite this, her stories are always told in a funny way with amusing and interesting characters so that one page you will be close to tears and the next you will be chuckling. She does not idealise childhood as being all sweetness and light but addresses real problems that children face. For children going...
