...Just a short walk from the beach and the famous "Golden Mile" in Marbella, this apartment hotel which opened in 1997 is on a road called Avenida Arturo Rubenstein. Luxurious apartment blocks line the road, and within a short distance are two very upmarket supermarkets if you want to buy food and drink!
Designed to make you feel you are living in the luxury that the sultans enjoyed in years gone by, there are fountains and tropical plants, beautiful tiles and a feeling of luxury.
There are 76 apartments, which are one or two bed roomed with a large comfortable lounge with dining area and large balconies with furniture. There is daily maid service with frequent bed linen change and daily change of towels.
One bedroom apartment

Review of Sultan Club, Marbella
...The manufacture of traditional Turkish Delight in Turkey goes back to over 300 years and makes Turkish Delight one of the oldest sweets in the world.
Apparently a certain Sultan in his endeavour to cope with all his wives, summoned all his sweet making experts and ordered the them to produce a unique dessert to add to the collection of secret recipes for which he was famous.
As a result 'LOKUM', better known as 'Turkish Delight' over here ,was born. The Sultan found it so tasty that he and all the Sultans that followed him always insisted on a plate of Turkish Delight with their daily feasts.
Sultan's Turkish Delight is made to the original recipe.
These are currently BOGOF in the Kwik Save - thats one pack of three and another pack of three for FREE!!!! for 99p- bargain!
6 lovely Turkish Delights - i must admit i have...

Review of Sultans Turkish Delight
Advantages: convenient location, charming decor, delicious, varied Traditional Turkish breakfast-better than most lower-priced hotels Disadvantages: no elevator (ask for a lower floor if you have heavy luggage), dark street, lots of night noise
...I teach in Istanbul and often choose to stay in the city. A few friends and I recently tried the Sultan's Inn because our regular "haunts" were full and the Sultan's Inn had low rates and high ratings.
When we first arrived, we thought we'd hit pay dirt. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful, and the lobby decor is a charming version of traditional Turkish. Our very reasonably priced room was decorated ala Turka as well (including a canopy over the double bed), though we nearly died hauling our luggage up three stories of a winding staircase. The desk clerk helped with my oldest friend's suitcase, but we hated to make him haul all our heavy luggage (we were leaving on a week-long trip to Cappadocia). An elevator would be a nice touch.
After raving over our quaint ivy-draped balcony, we explored the hotel and were tickled to find...
Advantages: central, friendly staff, close to boat for beach, large rooms Disadvantages: didn't notice any specific childrens amenities
...As a child I loved the stories of the Arabian nights. This hotel is what I imagine a rich merchants house would have looked like. It is truly beautiful.
The Sultan Bey is set in the Downtown area of El Gouna. Close to shops and bars, but most importantly, this is where you find the jetty for the boat to the beach!
The whole resort is quite low key, so there is no noise from the local bars and it was easy to get a good nights sleep after a hard day at the beach.
Our room at the Sultan Bey was huge. Two single beds in one alcove, a large tv, coffee table and sofa in the main area, a large old fashioned wardrobe in one corner, and a large en-suite shower/ toilet.
We also had a balcony which had ample room for the two deckchairs and small table. From there we had a stunning view of the lagoon.
El Gouna has its own tv channel...
Advantages: Fantastic food and atmosphere Disadvantages: No Alcohol
... SULTAN OF LANCASTER
WHERE FINE FOOD AND ART HAS BECOME A FASHION
The Sultan of Lancaster is a very unique restaurant. Here is a mixture of Indian food and Islamic art housed in a former Methodist chapel.
The main focus is a genuine and exquisitely decorated restaurant on the upper floor- complete with a exquisite décor, a glorious ceiling, ornate pillars and hand-crafted screens .
The Sultan of Lancaster also incorporates a contemporary art gallery offering an insight in the culture and traditions of Islam.
Despite the Sultan of Lancaster not serving alcoholic drinks it has been open now since 1990 and is still extremely popular, so much in fact it is necessary to make a booking even on weeknights. The restaurant boasts an impressive range of awards, and a steady stream of regulars.
The success...
Advantages: A simply stunning building overall, it's free Disadvantages: The "blue" aspect may disappoint you,can be very busy
...In Istanbul's Battle of the Buildings, the Blue Mosque is, for me, the outright winner. It was built in the seventeenth century on the orders of Sultan Ahmet I with the intention that it should rival the Hagia Sophia which stands opposite it. The image of these two fantastic buildings square up to each other is one of the most breath-taking sights in Istanbul, a city that's not short on visual magnificence. Both buildings are quite extraordinary but it's the Blue Mosque that wins me over with its six stately minarets and awesome courtyard; I'd go so far as to say that every trip (at least every first trip) to Istanbul should include a visit to the Blue Mosque.
With its six minarets, the Blue Mosque is easily identifiable from all over the city - even in a city that is teeming with mosques. There is a story that claims that the Sultan...
Advantages: moisturisers, smells lovely, lathers up just right Disadvantages: The bits of dried fruit drop out of soap over time
...Sultan of Soap
My friend got this for my birthday. I'm not really into soaps because as a teenager they used to dry out my skin but I thought I'd give it a try since it was a birthday present. Plus I love things from Lush. Yes, I will admit. I am a Lush addict.
Where to buy and price
Unfortunately as this is a Lush product, you can only buy it in a Lush shop (No Lush shop in my town * cry *) or online on their website www.lush.co.uk! On the website, 100g is £2.10 and 200g is £4.20 plus you have to pay for postage and packaging on top of that. I guess that the price in the shop would be same but as I haven't been in a Lush shop for awhile I haven't been able to check it out.
The Look and Smell
The bar of soap is a creamy white colour with a slight hint of brown along the edges. You can see the bits of dried currants...

Review of Lush Sultan of Soap
Advantages: Clean, Feels exclusive, Very affordable Disadvantages: Pharoah's Revenge still found me!
...surroundings, similar to DisneyWorld in Florida. How ever much Hurghada expanded, it would have to stop at the perimeter of this estate - excellent!
Where to stay?
There are twelve hotels in the resort, between three and five stars in quality. If you want absolute luxury, there is the Sheraton Miramar, although personally I found it lacked character.
I stayed at the Sultan Bey hotel and couldn't fault it. The rooms were clean and clutter-free with ensuite facilities, television, minibar and air conditioning. The food was excellent, with buffet-style breakfast and evening dining in european and asian styles.
TIP: Sultan Bey, along with several of the other hotels and restaurants, operated a dining plan where, even if you were on half-board at a particular hotel, you could dine at one of the partner venues. The hotel concierge will...
Advantages: Lovely matress for the first couple of weeks Disadvantages: downhill from there, poor customer services, avoid at all costs
...another poorly trained adviser who kept talking over me told methey don't exchange matresses and that it says so at the back of my receipt. I checked and lo and behold it was true! I went on their website and found the exchange policy only applied to Sultans. I called back and still they tried to say everything not to exchange the matress. Eventually after pointing out the "90 day love it or exhange it" guarantee on their website, I was told I could exchangeit but only for a higher priced one or a lower priced one and I had to pay for delivery (I had already paid for delivery 1st time). But i don't want a higher priced one and i don't want a lower priced one, I have spoken to my lawyers and will keep you informed. this might be the last time I ever buy anything from ikea even my favourite meatballs!
beware!!
I have only just read...
Advantages: good story line, songs and images Disadvantages: none
...This has to be one of my favourite Disney films, an animated film, full of mystery, songs, fantasy and some comedy. Althogh i've enjoy most Disney films, and still watch them now whic my sister, because of there light hearted stories, Aladdin is one of the ones which stand out above the rest.
PLOT
Aladdin in a street rat, who steals alongside his faithful monkey Abu, meets and falls in love with Princess Jasmine, who is tired of living in the Palace and needs to marry before her next birthday. By order of Jafar (sultans advisor) Aladdin is thrown in jail, once inside he meets a frail old man (jafar in disguise) who will tell Aladdin how to escape if he get the magic lamp from a cave. Aladdin is allowed to go inside the cave because he is true at heart, whereas Jafar is pure evil.
The cave is full of riches, but Aladdin is only...
