About Baskin Robbins
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Baskin Robbins is the world's largest chain of ice cream. Baskin Robbins was founded by Burton Baskin and Irvine Robbins. They have been providing ice cream for 62 years to more than 5,800 shops in 34 countries, proving how popular it really must be. Baskin Robbins is widely available at Cineworld cinemas and Millies Cookies.
Flavours
~~~~~~~~
I absolutely love ice cream and apart from the nutty ones I have practically tried every flavour at Baskin Robbins, although I have my favourites I always like to try other flavours as well. You can have these severed as 1, 2 or 3 scoops in a pot or in a cone.

Ice cream! ICE cream!
Review of Philips Delizia HR2303 Ice Cream Maker by
digitalburn
Advantages: Fresh, delectable ice cream made to order
Disadvantages: -
...I distinctly remember the first time I had shop-bought ice cream. It was vanilla, not my favourite flavour anyway, but in no other way seemed to bear any relation to what I knew to be ice cream. It was a soft, sugary, frothy, chemically paste, which almost made me retch. Luckily, I was a well dragged up little lad so I gritted my teeth and bore instead of throwing up and decrying this retched muck I was being served. (I believe it was actually this very same place where I first experienced the horrors of shop-bought bread and SHRIEK! margarine.
The problem was, of course, that I was brought up pretty much on entirely home made food, cakes, ice cream, the works (even milk and cheese, as my mum kept goats), so I knew how things were supposed to taste, not how the cheap imitation stuff you can buy in shops taste.*
The upshot of this...

We all scream for ice cream!!
Review of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Shop by
kiss_me2070
Advantages: Great flavours, great choice, taste testers, and more!!
Disadvantages: Not much choice here in the UK!
...Baskin Robbins sell the most amazing, delicious ice-cream in an array of wonderful flavours. Most Baskin Robbins are joint with Millie's Cookies and probably nearly every town has got at least one!
***HISTORY***
Baskin Robbins was created by two brother in laws (Burton "Burt" Baskin and Irvine "Irv" Robbins) who dreamed of creating an innovative ice cream store. They both had a mutual love of old fashioned ice cream and the desire to provide customers a high variety of flavours.
In 1945 a snowbird ice-cream shop was opened in California by Irv, which featured 21 flavours in his store. One Year later Burtons Ice Cream was opened by Burt in Pasadena, CA. By 1948 they both had 6 stores between them, which eventually grew into Baskin Robbins.
In 1949, there were more than 40 stores in Southern California, which is when Burt and Irv...

Ice Ice Baby ... do do ...do do.. do do... do do
Review of Absolut Ice Bar, London by
newty1977
Advantages: Cool Man !
Disadvantages: Freezing !!!!
..."Ice Ice Baby … do do … do do … do do ... do do!"
Absolut Ice Bar London
31-33 Heddon Street
London
W1B 4BN
I had heard about this bar about a year ago and was very keen to visit it, having been fascinated by the concept of the Ice Hotel located in Jukkasjärvi in Sweden. I had spoken to one of our account managers about it as she had been and had it in mind as a good place for a first date!
However, the bar does get very busy in the evening and booking in advance is to be recommended to ensure you are not disappointed and having to queue upon arrival.
~~~~~~
Location
~~~~~~
The bar is the first purposely designed "permanent" ice bar in the UK and is located in trendy Mayfair, just off Regent Street.
"Purposely designed" …. A strange statement that isn't it? I mean, it's not as if they were building a retail store...

Ice Ice Baby
Review of Jacob's Iced Gems by
jammy_banana
Advantages: tasty, good value for money
Disadvantages: small, not very filling
...As a child my lunchbox was always so boring. I mean when you look at the magazines these days they suggest putting in cherry tomatoes and hummus and home-made biscuits and things. All very well but who has the time for that? Not my mum. When I was at school my lunchbox was so boring it verged on depressing. Crackers and cheese and a KitKat or Penguin or Viscount. Not for me the little mini bags of cookies or other such delights. I was reduced to scrounging them (well they offered me) off other children.
This is how I was introduced to Iced Gems. I eventually persuaded my mum to get me some but she never put them in my lunchbox and then she stopped buying them because I was the only one eating them.
Well now I get to make my own lunchbox and buy my own sugary crap. And I am an impulse buyer and if there is a deal on then I...

How do you ice yours?
Review of Cadbury Creme Egg Ice Cream (On a stick) by
Chocolatyclaire
Advantages: Sweet, creamy, chocolaty
Disadvantages: Weak Creme-Egg resemblence, taste of wood on stick
...★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What is it? ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Cadbury's Creme Egg on a stick derives from the very famous and much loved chocolate Cadbury's Creme egg - we all know that was made for Easter delights worldwide and that became so popular that it started to be made all year round.
Cadbury's creme egg on a stick is simply the ice-cream cousin of our parent Creme-Egg. It is a delicious vanilla ice cream filled with a deliciously devine sugar filled fondant and encased in a crisp chocolate shell on a traditional wooden lolly stick.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What does it taste like? ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Cadbury's creme egg on a stick is not as nice nor as strong a taste as you would imagine if you are a fan of Cadbury's creme eggs, although I may...

A 99 ice cream without the ice cream van!
Review of Cadbury's Flake Ice Cream by
laylamccay
Advantages: Fabulous taste
Disadvantages: Have to finish the entire tub
...My decision as to which tub of ice cream to buy when staring at an array of choices in the supermarket is based mainly upon the price of the tub and the flavour. Quite a lot of ice creams with flavours that are also chocolate bars have sprung up of late, and being a chocolate bar obsessive, my ice cream purchasing frequency has sprung up too!
However, Flake is not my favourite type of chocolate. For one thing it's messy and I can't be bothered to have my chocolate bar fall all over my lap and the ground while I am trying to eat it. As such, I very rarely buy Flakes and only after I had sampled all the other chocolate-bar-flavoured ice cream that I noticed the Flake tub sitting inobtrusively in the bottom of the freezer. I decided to live dangerously and give it a go.
Instincts are wonderful things. I didn't initially realise...

Ice Cream Heaven
Review of Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream by
daylehall
Advantages: Creamy ice cream, real strawberry pieces, biscuit pieces
Disadvantages: The price, the calories and fat content!!
...I first came across Haagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake Flavour Ice Cream when one of my friends bought it round when we were having a DVD night and to be honest, nearly every time I settle down for the evening to watch a DVD, this ice cream comes out.
About Haagen-Dazs
Haagen-Dazs is unsurprisingly an American Brand and wasn't actually available to buy in the UK until 1987. Haagen-Dazs actually only started out with three flavours: vanilla, chocolate and coffee. With these flavours being so popular the brand quickly developed, with them producing a wider variety of flavours for the consumer to choose between.
Packaging
This ice cream comes in a standard ice cream thick cardboard container which holds 500ml. The lid is also made of cardboard and pop off fairly easily (although can sometimes be difficult if you try to open...

Ice Ice baby.
Review of Green and Black's Organic Ice Cream by
paulhanton
Advantages: Taste, organic.
Disadvantages: Saturated fat, cost.
...Now, as someone who has type 2 diabetes I am not supposed to eat many sugary things, and ice cream is pretty much a no no, unless I have diabetic ice cream, which you can buy around these parts (Barnsley) or ice cream just flavoured with fructose, which I havn't seen for sale locally.
However, every now and then I treat myself to a little ice cream, and as it is only now and then, I do not mind how much it costs and at around £3.50 - £4, for 500ml, this ice cream is not cheap.
Green & Black's seem to be a pretty good company to me, they make great chocolate and when I saw organic vanilla ice cream in ASDA, I though I would have to give it a go, vanilla, proper vanilla, is definitely my favourite.
The ice cream itself is organic, in fact all the ingredients are, and meet the Soil Assocaiation Organic Standards. The packet...

Rolo Ice
Review of Nestle Rolo Ice Cream 1 Litre by
cheung
Advantages: unique taste, good price
Disadvantages: sickly, calorific
...When buying ice cream, you might be the type who likes plain flavours, or you may be daring or enjoy chocolate so you will try out Rolo ice cream. I’m a little bit of both, but chocolate bar/snack ice creams can be a bit too sickly sometimes.
Seems as the U.K are having heat waves, ice cream sell like hot cakes, which is ideal to cool you down from the heat, and ideal for those who sell ice cream as their sales will rocket. The nice coolness of the ice cream is great for hot days, but after eating sweet things, it tends to make you even more thirsty so you may as well stick to water rather than ice cream.
I have only tried this brand once and the taste seems unique. My mother bought this because there was a special offer of buy one get one free at Tescos.
A 1-litre pot of ice cream costed £2.88 ate Tescos so it was 2 for £2...
