...Since summer is upon us (she says looking out the window at torrential rain in May!), I thought it would time to review some seasonal products, and why not make it a baby product! I had my son last March,and when the summer came around I wanted only the best things for him, which is why I turned to Nivea Sun Creams. My mum had used them on my brother and I when we went abroad and we never got burnt so for me, that was a great advert. So I strolled into my local chemist and headed straight for the sun creams. To be honest, I was totally shocked at the price of the stuff! I realise that it is only used for a small portion of the year and a bottle can last a long time, but even so! Advantages: Really works and hydrates your skin - so no peeling

...After the brief few days of sun we had last week I made the fatal mistake of falling asleep in the sun in my back garden and as you can guess I got sun burnt, I didn?t really have any sun cream etc in the house so popped down to Tesco?s to see what I could get my hands on only to discover one of the best after sun lotions I have ever used. Tesco's Finest After Sun Lotion was on offer for half price so i though that I would purchase it and give it ago and I can honestly say that it worked. Packaging It comes in a blue 200ml pump bottle which is blue in colour with little stars on it. Product: The bottle says that it rehydrates your skin for 12 hours, contains antioxidants, nourishes, soothes and calms your skin, and it did exactly that for me. The product itself was easily absorbed and didn?t leave your skin feeling sticky...

...Piz Buin In sun lotion SPF 10 ?GET THE MOST OUT OF LIFE IN THE SUN SAFELY?. This is one of the products I have used before when in the sun, and Piz Buin being one of my preferred makes, I know I will probably like this. WHAT IT DOES... This offers SPF 10 which is considered low but which I find is fine for my first week or so in the sun. It is UVA/UVB with helioplex which apparently provides photostable broad spectrum protection, whatever that is! It also contains Vitamin E which the information on the back of the bottle tells me will neutralise free radicals which cause premature skin ageing. The lotion is also water and sweat resistant, whcih is a claim most of these kind of products make but one which I am not entirely sure of. PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... The 200ml plastic bottle is the usual Piz Buin brown...

Eight Hour Cream

Advantages: Only need to use a tiny amount so lasts for years!
Disadvantages: None

...This cream comes in a tube and initially seems quite expensive (when I bought my last tube it cost £17). It states that it is for use on chapped or weather burned skin ? basically for use anywhere on the body. It is a brilliant lip salve ? it may seem expensive but I can?t remember the last time I bought a tube ? it must be at least 2 years ago. The cream never goes off and lasts for ages as you only need to use the tiniest amount each time. Another thing it is very good for is when you have a sore red nose during a cold. It soothes and fixes dry skin extremely quickly and in my mind is great value for money....

No mess sunscreen for kids

...While I was struggling with a stroppy 18 month old trying to apply the green spray on suncream without getting all her clothes, my clothes and my furniture green my friend casually got the sunscreen stick out of her bag and said haven't you got one of these? No, I didn't have one of those but now I do! You still need cream for large areas of skin to cover over i.e. arms legs etc. But this is fantastic for faces, ears, nose, neck, toes. Its looks just like a pritt stick glue stick! you apply it in the same way and it is blue so you can see where you have applied it. You do have to rub it in a bit or you get blue blobs left. It is the same size as a pritt stick so it's very easy to take out with you, it slips in my handbag very easily (even my ultra small compact handbag!!) It is a bit greasy compared with other sunscreens...

When I first purchased I felt the product was overpriced, my opinion has since changed after finding 101 uses for it! As long as it is used sparingly then it does not feel to heavy on the skin. My only disadvantage of this product is the amount of time it takes to absorb. I sometimes find myself rubbing the cream constantly in the hope it will absorb faster!
