Why I WON'T 'Battle For The Sun'...

Advantages: There are a couple of good songs, I guess....
Disadvantages: Lots of rubbish, tries too hard to be interesting, lacks the supposed positive attitude...

...?. This would be Placebo?s sixth studio album but the first record with newbie Steve who had previously performed in a little known American group Evaline. Incidentally, new Steve looked remarkably like the bloke off the ?Lucky Charms? cereal box but does ? I am pleased to report ? drum better than him. With their first right handed drummer in toe, would Molko and Olstal set off to become the new Lennon/McCartney that they?d secretly always desired? (don't worry it'll all make sense later on!) Or would ?Battle For The Sun? be a case of ?Battle Lost?? ?I NEED A CHANGE OF SKIN? A kids sun cream that doesn't stain clothes

Advantages: It rubs in well, doesn't stain clothes
Disadvantages: Price

...bottle for around £6. Verdict ---------- This is a good sun cream which rubs in easily so my kids don't get bored and try to run off before I have finished applying it. Also it must be quite a gentle formula as my little one gets eczema and this did not affect him even when not washed off later the same day. It only gets 4 stars as I think it could be cheaper!...

Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun!

Advantages: The title track is a big hitter, great to see them still in action
Disadvantages: Very patchy quality, just not classic Placebo

...David Bottrill seems to have an added a bit of punch and bite to Placebo's sound that hasn't been there since the early days. But it's all a bit... I don't quite know. Look, the thing about Placebo is that their original style was very straightforward. Although Malko's guitar work sounds pretty sophisticated on even their first album, the truth is this was largely due to the adoption of 'Placebo tuning', a variant on Drop D tuning, which meant, well, the poor little lad didn't have to move his fingers too much, basically. Me being me, I love the idea that a band can conquer Europe and release videos of themselves walking down the sides of skyscrapers, while only being able to make one chord shape. They write the music, it seems to me only efficient to write that music in such a way that it's easy to play. Where Battle For the Sun...

Empire of the Sun

Advantages: Different and really visual
Disadvantages: Hard to appreciate

...been compared to kings like David Bowie and Prince, and their music really does carry the essence of slight 80?s rock, however their songs are extremely visual and to many listeners they are a step too far over the wierdness line. Reception Empire of the Sun have been in the charts in Australia but have never reached the top spot of number one, they are not so successful over here either never reaching the top ten in our charts. This is mainly due to them having a really limited fan base as their music targets a small group of people who are willing to listen and actually visualise their music so that it can be appreciated. Their music isn?t easy to listen or relate to. But it is growing, and Empire of the Sun already have a string of festivals, mainly in Australia, to perform in showing that their voice is starting to be heard...

Review of Walking On A Dream - Empire Of The Sun

The Sun - I love 'The Sun' all year round!

Advantages: Great to read, lots of useful sections for the whole family, bargain at 30p!
Disadvantages: None

.... Overall The Sun is a very easy to read newspaper, it doesn't get too bogged down with over-reporting stories but also note that like all newspapers sometimes there can be incorrect information. I would definitely recommend The Sun to anybody, it's just such an easy read and helps me to keep up with the days new and sport for just 30p a day, it's an absolute bargain! I am rating this 5/5 for the above reasons. It's such an action packed paper for the price that's paid....

The sun shines where you don't want to know

...Why is it that the Sun is the paper with the highest circulation in the land. Every one I talk to doesn't read that "rubbish". I suppose it is a little like masturbating, something we all do but have to deny in public. An apt analogy, masturbating and The Sun newspaper, as this is really what the paper is about. It is about ease, comfort and intellectual relaxation, masturbating for the eyes. It is not really about cheap visual titillation but about literary titillation and that is why so many buy it. It has this appeal like "OK" and "Hello" magazines, it presents no threat to us all. Don't expect any real news apart from what is obvious. Do not expect ground breaking entertainment. Clinique After Sun with Aloe - Don't be a lobster!

Advantages: Really cools down skin, stops flaking
Disadvantages: A tad expensive, but worth it!

...been in the sun. It also really helps with moisturising my skin so I don't get horrible flaking skin, which is not a good look on holiday (or anytime!) I find that it absorbs in to the skin really quickly and is really effective in cooling burnt areas and moisturising. Another great thing about this lotion is that it is oil free, it is also allergy tested and fragrance free. Since the lotion was really good at soothing it really made me feel more comfortable and reduced and itching the sun caused me. Because the aloe cooled my skin I think that my skin was less red in the long run too. I really like the design of the tube, it is a mint green colour with a big yellow 'C' on the front of it and then a yellow band across the middle with 'Clinique After Sun' written on it. It has a yellow plastic flip top which really aids with opening...

Sun In - The Ups and the Downs

Advantages: Cheap, easy application, gradual build up of colour
Disadvantages: Drying

...to be noticeable. I was expecting this however as my hair is quite dark and I thought it would take at least a few applications to see the difference. I didn't notice any dryness especially although I can't say my hair felt particularly healthy, just normal. Continued use to build up my ideal result I continued to use this product over a few days. I was worried about using it every day because of horror storied about peroxide making your hair fall out but the concentration is so low that I can't imagine it would be too much of a problem. What I started doing is two days on, one day off with intensive conditioning treatments every few days.
