Sunfire CRM-2 speakers - A wall of sound

Advantages: great sound, powerful
Disadvantages: must be used with a great sub

...I just purchased a pair of CRM-2's for my L/R front of my HT. (I am downsizing, needed more living space out of my 14x15 room. They are replacing my Carver AL III's which have been my mainstay for the last 12 years. The challenge was indeed great). I have clocked in about 50 hours of break in and they sound awesome. They are not upfront in your face speakers but provide a "wave" of music that just seems to engulf me and draws me into the experience of the music or movie instead of just being a listener. Very much what I was use to with the AL III's. The key with these speakers is the choice of subwoofer. It must be powerful, dynamic and match up in speed and definition up to the cross over point (100hz worked beautifully for me with my HSU 1225 sub powered by the HSU model 500 amp). The Sunfire GT Experience

Advantages: sporty looking, quick acceleration, dependable
Disadvantages: high gas consumption, very average handling

...The Sunfire GT has a 150 horsepowered and 2.4 litre engine. The experience I've had is that the car is affordable and reliable. It is both suitable for young and elderly given its sporty looking shape and its reliability as a vehicle. The vehicle has problems around engine gaskets and acceleration. These problems seem to surface when approaching 65,000-75,000 km useage. Gaskets seem to need repair at least once in the life-time of the car (at a cost of roughly $600-$1000 CDN. There is a constant loss of proper gear switching and acceleration after the car has accumulated kilometers. The handling is also below average, as the vehicle does not round bends at higher speeds very well (or without swearving out of lane). The vehicle also suffers from poor gas consumption (the GT will travel 450km on a 50litre tank) given the small size...

Fli Active 12 Subwoofer

Advantages: Reasonable-ish value and very nice design
Disadvantages: Simply doesn't sound deep or loud enough

...), and maybe this is why other reviews are so favourable. Another reason is that perhaps smaller cars sound better (mine is a Rover 400 saloon), and also possibly the revised model may sound better... I hope these views have helped your decisions. On the whole I would give this a miss and get a more expensive subwoofer....

Advantages: All in one compact design. Very Powerful.
Disadvantages: I have not found any.

...This is a very good product. A great addition to any car audio system. I Bought this active subwoofer system because I did not want the untidy mess of all the wiring from the sub unit to the amp, plus I found it easier to just buy the unit all in one because then you are guaranteed to get the correct specification amplifier. The other advantage of this system is that you can still use the boot of your car, because the unit is all in one enclosure all that has to be done to take it out is remove 3 cables with fork fittings and the two phono cables and then it can be lifted out of the boot. The Dimensions of this unit are 500(L) x 350(W) x 380(H)mm which is not huge and the unit does not weigh a huge amount and can easily be lifted in and out with out any problem. This unit has a RMS Output power of 300 Watts and a Peak Output 0f 1000...

Look At My Subwoofer!

...Straight to the point; another attempt at a review that is technology related! Well, here goes.... The YST-SW015 is a subwoofer speaker which comes in a nice box along with a simple to read instruction manual, which informs you of all the technical specs and so on. All though to be honest, it is easy to set up anyway, I mean even I can do it so... Now, looks wise, in my opinion, it is not the nicest looking thing in the line of speakers, it is a kind of black cuboid shape, measuring 11 Inches in Width, 12.61 Inches in depth and 12.81 Inches in height. So, as you can visualize, this is quite a compact design, and so fit in to the most modern of homes. Also present is a silver coloured panel with the basic volume control functions present on it which are marked clearly. This subwoofer (with a power of 70 Watt) is powerful...

How can I not own a subwoofer?

Advantages: Reasonably priced, easy to set up, reliable
Disadvantages: Not stylish, a lot of wires, not top quality and volume

...of the blue, a mate told me he?d seen some 5.1 speakers on eBay for around £50, and reckoned that was pretty cheap. Having around that amount lingering in my dad?s PayPal account after some sales on eBay, I thought what the hell, and bought a reconditioned T5900 system then and there. Needless to say, that was pre-ciao and I had a habit of buying stuff without looking up comparisons and so on. Point was, it had a subwoofer! What a great name! I suppose it was the deciding factor in my purchase of a GeForce graphics card a couple of years back as well, so it has been a bit of a recurring factor. Generally speaking, with my new-found knowledge, the bit at the front indicates satellite speakers, so 5.1 has 3 at the front, and two at the back, while 7.1 has three at the front, two at the sides and two at the back. Great bargain sub-woofer

Advantages: Great sound for the price
Disadvantages: No remote control

...A subwoofer can really finish off a home cinema setup but the price can be frightening. I spent £160 on a Yamaha YST-SW90 and never regretted it. The speaker is active and will take line level or speaker level input. It has it's own volume control and also an adjustable filter to select which portion of the bass is reproduced. The speaker also has an auto standy mode that switches it off if unused for a period of time. Be warned though this sub could shake your neighbours, or their neighbours. If I haven't convinved you, listen to this sub at your local hi-fi store....
