But it was not till the 80's that it was realised suncreams helped prevent damage to our skin and not till the 90's that it was proved by scientists. However with all this knowledge now, How many of you are careful about making sure you never go out without protection. Children are most at risk from the sun as their bodies don't produce melanin which helps protect the skin from the UV rays. How many times have you let the kids go out and play without thinking of their skin? I know I have. And I am even worse with myself. Sunshining? then use sunnies!

Advantages: easy to apply, no bottles that leak, quick and easy
Disadvantages: your hands turn white, they are expensive and can tend to dry out

...So, ok we haven't really seen the sunshine yet and our normal summer is over, but i write this just in case the weather forecasters somehow manage to predict correctly that we do get an Indian summer!! My son is your average normal toddler won't keep still for more than five seconds at a time. I'm sure you can imagine the mess we get into if i decide to put suntan cream on him whilst we're down the beach... all the sand is such a distraction to the poor lad and protecting his skin doesn't seem to be at the top of his priorities. Sunny Protection

...Summer is upon us again and both my children arrived home from school with letters requesting that each child be supplied wtih suncream for use at break times. Due to the latest health and safety rules, the teahers are not supposed to administer the sun cream to children themselves (although I'm sure they would if a child was struggling). For my older child, who is 7, this wasn't a problem, I simply supplied hm with a small bottle of sun lotion and made him promise to apply it every break time. However, I had visions of my younger child of 4 years struggling with a bottle of sun lotion and ending up with more of it on her clothes and hair than on her skin. ...With the kind of hot weather we have had this past week I have been really desperately needing a drink. Water is alright but sometimes you just want something with that bit more. I ran quickly to the supermarket to see what caught my fancy and there it was Sunny Delight in all its orange glory. I picked it up and ran to the checkout. Created in Florida in 1964 it was bought by P&G who carried out test marketing on Sunny Delight. In April '98 it was launched in the UK and the light version was launched in 2000. ...I had a F Reg 1998 Nissan Sunny Coupe 1.6 GSX Petrol for 156000 miles across 7 years. This fantastic car needed not a single top up of oil or water for the WHOLE 7 years. Yes, I do mean no leaks AT ALL. The block went rusty because of the non-oil leak protection, as only seen on classics according to the garage who very regularly serviced my car. Regular (6000 mile oil & filter changes) preventative maintenance kept this little rocket on course with the minimum of fuss and expense. The worst consumption I ever had from this car was 32 mpg, the best 56 mpg and 45mpg was my average. 97 bhp isn't a lot today, but this car was very lightweight and could take on the hot hatches of their day with no problem. ...Seven sunny days is the second book I have read of Chris Manby's. The first one I read was Running Away from Richard which was a good book but it took me a long time to get into. I had to really force myself to sit and read it (once I was fairly well into it, it was okay but up until that point it was a struggle!) Luckily for me this novel was much easier to get into. I picked this up is our local woolworths because I needed a new book to buy (I seem to like buying lots of new books) but the thing that attracted me to this book was the story. ...Imagine my delight, a close friend living in Turkey and a propsed month long (yes 4 weeks!!) holiday in the South East, sunny (and my goodness it was) Mediterranean. Bliss. But what about Aleyna, only 5 months at the time. Naturally sunbathing was out of the question but with my pop up SPF cabana and a seriously cool (and very pink) SPF outfit including desert hat, (for Aleyna I mean, I was decked out a little bit more trendily) we were set to go. I own a Sunny and it?s a car which has amazing reliability, is very comfortable and gives a smooth ride. The Production of this car started in 1991 and ended in 1995. The car we own is a 1994 Nissan Sunny Spray 1.4 3 door. We brought it in 1996 at two years old for around seven thousand pounds. The reason for buying was due to our Nissan Micra getting a bit too small for us and the fact we needed just a bit more space. The Sunny seemed like the perfect choice.
