Sunny Beach - My experience of Bulgaria

We stayed at the Elenite Holiday Village situated in a quiet bay 10km north of Sunny Beach. The village works on an "all inclusive basis". This was the first time we'd ever gone all inclusive and as everything in the town is so cheap, if we were to go back it would probably have been the last time we'd gone all inclusive aswell. The apartments in the village are clean. All rooms have terrace, telephone, SAT TV, mini bar, bathroom with hairdryer and air conditioning. The family suites have a bathtub as well. Rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. The beach was beautiful, the water, clean and blue, the sea bottom is shallow and safe...

SUNNY BEACH - MAJESTIC HOTEL

Advantages: CHEAP, EXCELLENT POOLSIDE & VIEWS, FRIENDLY REPS
Disadvantages: DANCING BEARS - CRUEL!!!, NOT A LOT TO DO WHEN IT RAINS!!

...Just returned from a week at the Majestic hotel in Sunny Beach. We had read some scary reports on this hotel, in particular block 2, so when we checked in and were given a room in block two we were worried. The Porter showed us to our room, and we were pleasantly surprised, we had booked a twin room, but had been upgraded to a suite. If you are going to this hotel with Thomsons you should have no worries, we were told that they get the best rooms as they are the Majestics biggest customer, although we did hear of some complaints of leaky air con, and incompleted rooms; we appeared to be one of the lucky ones!! As for the food, I am a vegetarian and my husband is not, yet we still managed to both get food poisoning. We only ate at the resturant and were careful with water, ice cubes, etc, so can only assume that there was something...

The Best Hidden Secret In Europe

...I went to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria last August with my wife, I think we went because we had heard it was so cheap to eat and drink and fancied seeing if this was true, and also to try somewhere a bit different as we didn't know anyone who had been before, so we had no idea really what to expect. We paid just over £700 for both of us, for two weeks in August with taxi transfers and a three star hotel on the sea front which we thought was extremely good value for money. We arrived at Bourgas airport got through customs without any problems and our taxi driver was waiting to take us on to Sunny Beach which took about 20 - 25 minutes. When we arrived at our hotel it was about midnight so we dumped our stuff in the quite basic hotel room and went out to explore the many bars and resturaunts. Sun, Sea and Sunnies

Advantages: Will not leak in your bag
Disadvantages: Dry out easily and not cheap.

However with all this knowledge now, How many of you are careful about making sure you never go out without protection. Children are most at risk from the sun as their bodies don't produce melanin which helps protect the skin from the UV rays. How many times have you let the kids go out and play without thinking of their skin? I know I have. And I am even worse with myself. Our best bulgarian holiday yet.

Advantages: On the beach, Extensive grounds, Fantastic food.
Disadvantages: could have better outside evening entertainment.

...We have been to Bulgaria every year since 2002 and 2008 was the best. We started off in Albena which is to the north very nice but rather quiet.Then we found Sunny Beach and the difference is unbelievable. The first year we stayed at The Riu Helios, then The Sunny Dreams Apartments. Both of these are very good quality for money.but then the best ,The Majestic Hotel. Having seen this hotel being built we were eager to try it out and believe me we were not disappointed with what we found. The moment you see it from the beach you will think it would not look out of place in Las Vegas, its massive and its PINK, yes PINK.From the beach you stroll up past the two huge pools to the waterfall then up the steps to an enormous patio with luxurious seating areas . A Real Peach of a Beach!!

...We usually like to try a new place every year for our summer holidays but this year we decided to return to the resort of Puerto Rico on the island of Gran Canaria after staying there last year. One of the main reasons for the return was the fact that we loved the apartments we had stayed in last year and the other main reason was for the wonderful Amadores Beach. Sunshining? then use sunnies!

Advantages: easy to apply, no bottles that leak, quick and easy
Disadvantages: your hands turn white, they are expensive and can tend to dry out

...So, ok we haven't really seen the sunshine yet and our normal summer is over, but i write this just in case the weather forecasters somehow manage to predict correctly that we do get an Indian summer!! My son is your average normal toddler won't keep still for more than five seconds at a time. I'm sure you can imagine the mess we get into if i decide to put suntan cream on him whilst we're down the beach... all the sand is such a distraction to the poor lad and protecting his skin doesn't seem to be at the top of his priorities. Surprise Surprise! So in come Sunnies to save the day, and my patience! Ok so what are they I hear you ask.
