SUPER supermarket

Advantages: Easy to use; price comparison; calorie and money saving; nutritional info etc...
Disadvantages: Not really any

...I am actually hooked on this website. I log onto it just about everyday, not for shopping, but for product references. Mysupermarket.com is like an online catalogue of every single (or nearly everything. Sometimes, things aren't always there which are on the supermarkets shelves but this is quite rare) item on the shelves of *Tesco *Asda *Sainsbury *Ocado (i.e. Waitrose) - basically, all the BIG supermarkets. I would like to have a Morrison's in here and perhaps a sub section dedicated to the smaller ones like Aldi, Iceland, farm foods and Lidl. On the other hand, I can see why it doesn't. Firstly, not all of them deliever. Secondly, not all stock the main branded products detailed as Lidl tends to stock german based products and thirdly, it would probably become over complicated. The layout has recently changed. It is...

Morrisons Supermarket

Advantages: Excellent customer service; lovely staff; good benefits; and great products
Disadvantages: Sick day management and rough customers (lack of security)

...I decided to write a review in response to this one: http://www.ciao.co.uk/Comments-on-ReviewMorrisonWMSupermarkets55 59754 And also because of the comments concerning it. The training at Morrison's is excellent, very good quality with plenty of follow up. I started work in a Morrison's store in February this year and in response to Gemimz69's comment about the induction... mine took place over 2 days!!! From 9 till 5 on Saturday and 9 till 4 on the Sunday; I had an hour break in total for each day... and I have to say it was quite hefty for just an induction; what with all the video's and questionnaires and role play's etc; but it gives a great overview of the company. I feel Fazel may have exaggerated a little with the chip and pin situation and I work on checkouts myself and I really can't see such things happening...

Review of Morrison, (WM) Supermarkets

My local supermarket is a Spar.

Advantages: Plenty of them locally. Special offers.
Disadvantages: Overpriced. Poor selection.

..., organic stuff is few and far between and tends to be expensive. All in all I wouldn't recommend Spar. Sainsbury, Asda and Tesco offer better value. My favourite supermarket is the Co-op - it is also local and offers better value and a better range. I have also used a Spar local in Leicester city centre. Being in the city centre, it is smaller (higher rent) and more expensive, with even less choice. On the whole, Spar is probably one of the worst supermarkets in the high street. (Mind you, unlike our local Somerfield, it hasn't been forcibly closed due to a mouse infestation)....

Review of Spar Supermarkets

It's my supermarket and it's where I shop!

Advantages: Easy to use, free to join, registration takes just a minute.
Disadvantages: None

...mysupermarket.co.uk is an online website which is used for the comparison on your shopping from Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's & Ocado. You can register for the site which is free and easy and you just need to provide some basic information. Postcode, name, address, email address and a password. You can then choose if you receive e-mails on the offers and services provided and then you will need to read and accept the terms & conditions of using the website. Once you have registered, activated your account and logged in you can begin your shop. On mysupermarket.co.uk you will see all of the products which you would see on the supermarket's own websites (such as Tesco Value products etc) and then you can add these to your basket and along the top it will tell you what similar products are available or what special offers you can choose...

Driving Supermarket Trolley's

Advantages: when they work can carry your shopping
Disadvantages: wonky wheels

...There are 2 main types of trolley. The first is a beautiful smooth, well-oiled trolley that goes exactly where you point it and doesn't have someone else's plastic bag and shopping list in the bottom. You'll find this trolley in the manager's office where it is kept for the exclusive use of visiting dignitaries. The other kind of trolley is your one with the permanent 3-wheel drive and fatal attraction to anything on your left. Trolleys, like dogs enjoy sniffing each other out which is why you spend a lot of time in the supermarket apologizing to other people as your trolley get's intimate with theirs. When you drive to the supermarket, driving standards immediately deteriorate as soon as you enter the car park. This is to prepare you for the truly shocking driving standards inside the supermarket. It's chilling to think that some...

Review of Ten things I hate about supermarkets

Working at Morrisons Supermarket as an employee.

Advantages: Usual Supermarket Job Benefits
Disadvantages: Run like an army boot camp, but lacking resources.

...I had worked at supermarkets before and always found them to be reasonable jobs. This all changed when i got a job at Morrisons in Paisley , Falside road, Scotland. Good points of being an employee at Morrisons were adequate training and a staff canteen which was subsidised. Bad Points of being an employee at Morrisons were numerous. We did not get proper rest periods inbetween shifts. They would have us working till ten pm at night and back in at 6 am. Also, there were no set working hours. These were changed at the whim of the Managers and they would roster you on for two weeks without a day off if they wanted. Short staffed. Businesses have to run lean staff wise to be competitive as you all know. But my section at Morrisons was literally running at half staffing levels the entire time i worked there. Despite these low...

Supermarket Sweep...

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: None

...I am so thankful for 24 hour supermarkets cause i now have the option of avoiding some of the things that I absolutely despise about them. I love jumpin in the car and driving 10mins to my local tesco's where I no longer have to adhere to the parking rules, can stop outside the main doors, rush in and rush out, but we won't think of those examples and instead I will join the majority and talk about my pet hates during normal hours. So let's get on with the countdown: 10) The layout: This is not appropriate for all supermarkets but is especially true of the budget places and foreign supermarkets. When I go shopping I expect everything to be in a logical order Therefore to me nappies, tissues, tampons, toilet roll and kitchen roll should be relatively close, but why do these cheap places stack these items on the highest shelves and run...

Price Comparrison for supermarkets

Advantages: Easy to use, i points,
Disadvantages: None

...Do you shop online for groceries at these shops; Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury\'s or Ocado? If you do then sign up to www.mysupermarket.co.uk This site works in the same way as the online sites for Tesco, Asda etc. The benefit is that it tells you which shop is cheapest for your total shop. So you may believe Tesco is the cheapest but depending on your purchases and each stores special offers it could be any of them. I have shopped online from Tesco, Asda & Sainsbury\'s websites. Our primary supermarket is Tesco. When you log into mysupermarket.com I can download my previous shopping from the Tesco website, making the online shopping process much quicker. Once you have entered all your purchases, check out the total cost in the top right hand corner. The total cost is ranked in order with the cheapest at the top down to...

Shopaholic supermarket revelations

Advantages: I get my exercise with the trolley
Disadvantages: Too much packaging

...Ten things I hate about Supermarkets. On chatting with Torr (who recommended this category) and Kirsty1, I had to confess that I love supermarkets and didn't feel that I could complete this challenge as I would not be able to think up ten reasons for hatred. But then again, what is a challenge if it's easy to complete?? I don't do internet food shopping, and tend to shop all over the, well, shop, for food and essentials. I am of a generation (as mentioned in earlier reviews) who remembers life pre-supermarket, and that is saying something when I grew up in the sprawl of London suburb. Safeway was the first supermarket I remember coming to the town, but the bus ride made it impossible to shop there as I was one of 6 siblings and the amount of food was far too high for public transport. Sainsbury came next more locally, and...

Available Car Supermarket

Advantages: Wide choice, low pressure environment, competitive prices
Disadvantages: There's not enough of them about!

..., everything was presented in a "keep safe" envelope very well explained. When we arrived for pick-up, early, they were still ready to greet us and dealt with us very promptly. Again, the explainations were clear and concise, nothing was rushed unless we were happy. We were allowed to inspect the car inside and out before we signed the final handover, and the car came with 30days or 10000 miles warrenty in the event it developed any problems - they would fix them. Free tax disc holder, cleaned inside and out.... everything working.... phone numbers provided in the event of any problems..... All in all, I can't fault them. Nothing pushy, nothing pressured, a very welcoming and relaxed place to browse or buy, just like a supermarket. I have already suggested a neighbour pay them a visit - as the stock is changing all the time and you never...
