...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

...Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet. The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. ...In my opinion the Bose sounddock was a great spend. I was looking for a quality product to enable me to listen to my iPod. I shopped around and tried out a few other speakers, e.g. JBL onstage. The Bose sound was remarkable. It was so clear it was unbelievable. I got a surround sound feeling whilst listening to the speakers and there was no sign of the low hum or odd crackle one sometimes finds accompanies certian speakers. I have now had my Bose speakers for a year. One year on and they still look new (the newer model still looks the same) and the sound is still clear and precise. Although I don't think it will damage the battery on the ipod I unplug the unit to be sure. There is no USB connection so you can't link it to your PC. I have been using the Unit for 6 months now and it seems to be fairing up well. No damage to anything no signs of wear and tear. I use the dock daily. It is expensive compared to others but it is BOSE. I paid 250US for mine. If you're looking for a stylish good sounding speaker/dock system that you can place permanently in your home or office for your ipod this is it. Can't say enough good things about the Bose SoundDock

...I got this as a very generous housewarming gift after I had been lusting after it for months and I really honestly cannot say enough good things about it. The sound quality off of it is properly amazing, to the point where you can pick up all sorts of subtleties in songs you've been listening to for years that you may have never heard before. Bose Sound Dock (2nd Generation)

Advantages: Incredible sound from such a small unit, good build quality

...the battery off as this is the bit that weighs a lot. The controls are easy - you put your ipod on the dock (or connect something else to it) and then there are two touch sensitive controls on the right hand side for volume. It switches off automatically and charges your ipod whilst it is connected. I don't think that you could compare it to a decent separates system, but for the size of the unit, the sound is incredible. You can turn up the volume quite loud and there is no distortion. There is a sound port on the back which doubles as the handle, and I found that putting against a wall gives a much deeper bass. The only negative I have to say about the unit is that the power adaptor is massive and could have been designed better. It also comes with a remote control that lets you mimic some of the control features of your ipod - volume...

One of the BEST choice for sound card.

Advantages: smaller size, usb connection support, 3D sound experience, very cheap, high SNR ratio.
Disadvantages: Does not support all OS, requires very powerful processor& ram,all features not works on XP

Such Amazing Clarity Out Of Such A Small Thing

Advantages: amazing sound quality
Disadvantages: you can't plug it in to your PC

...is very easy (please just trust me)). The hole set up process took less than 5 minuets. During music playback you have to do nothing (except adjust the volume) which is great. On some speakers you have to adjust the Base and the Treble (on some more complicated systems the subwoofers and the tweakers etc ?) on the Bose it is all done for you, admitably you cannot raise the base so much that the windows start to rattle but that kind of fun has a time limit and it is very short. ~Quality Of Sound~ As you probably know Bose are already notorious for their superior sound quality and their extremely high standards; and the sound dock is no exception, even though it is a relatively small system it can fill a room even when it is only at half volume...
