...is change my profile on my u.k. account to match my French account, i.e. that of a totally disinterested member, and see what happens. On my U.K. account every section of the survey profile (which incidentally can be reached via a members settings), is completed. I shall reset the fields and see whether it makes any difference to the amount of surveys I receive or whether in fact this is an international issue. I live in France, and whilst Ciao accept me as an active member, it seems I am not accepted for surveys, since I have NEVER received one survey from Ciao in my whole year of membership here. DO I THINK CIAO SURVEYS ARE WORTH DOING ? Yes. I really believe that they are a fast way to earn money. Ciao France surveys are regular, and consistently pay me between 2 euros and 15 euros. ...these things work. So is it us, the users, to blame? Probably, if lots of us are happy to do long surveys for pence, then obviously the companies will keep offering us them. If we stand up and show we're not going to be ripped off and that our time is worth more than that, then they will have to pay more if they want their information. Another annoying factor with Ciao has been the ability to complete surveys. I found at one point that regularly I was receiving surveys I had no chance to do, not being involved in IT purchasing being a big issue. There were also those that came across as if the main intention was to produce databases for marketing purposes "are you planning on buying a new .... in the next 2 years?" ...answer the questions on the surveys themselves it is too easy to sit on the fence and just tick " I don't know " or " not sure ". The surveys are done by different companies so the format alters slightly with each one . Filling them in is not rocket science however, and you can make it a very quick process if you are so mindful. I prefer to give honest ,truthful answers to the questions , but for some members perhaps it will be too tempting to fudge the issue ! You only qualify anyway for some surveys by giving your age at the outset . The video games one I did only wanted members under 30 years of age. This was obviously their target audience . Mind you I know lot's of fifty plus people who play these games ! But say you are 55 , it is too easy to click your age as 29 ! and thus qualify for the extra dosh. I also wonder about... Advantages: Easy Money for little time, Fun

...When i first signed up to ciao in September, I was looking forward to earning a little extra cash. The fact that getting paid for opinions was good enough, but they also had the feature of getting surveys which could be a nice little earner. Ciao new changes state that members will recieve more surveys as time went on, well before the changes i never recieved any, and even after the changes i still havent! " Fill in all your personal details in your personal member area, it will make it easier for us to send you the surveys" . Well ive done everything it said and ive still not recieved an email, yet a few people have recieved a lot of surveys for around 60p-£3.00 each, and a lot of people i know have recieved none. Surveys are good because you will need around 300 hits to gain the amount of money the surveys generate, just imagine... Read review

...Since the new Ciao re-design in November 2003 this opinion has been updated in 2004,2005, 2006 & 2007. Whether you are a new or old member reading this opinion one of the best part sof Ciao is the availability of Ciao Surveys has nothing to do with your activity or length of membership on the site. So fear not, new members you too can qualify to receive surveys based upon your interests and get paid just for a few minutes of your time. Although I have been a member of ciao.com since 2000, it wasn't until 2001 that I received my first survey, which was quite straightforward and took no longer than 20 minutes to complete (I will go into details later about types of surveys I received). Don't worry you wont have to wait a year to get your first survey. There are more companies associated with Ciao now than ever before... Read review

...I find myself confused by the purpose of Ciao surveys of late. When I joined Ciao I took great pride in earning my pennies by participating in the relevant surveys they sent me on a fairly regular basis. However recently though my profile is 100% complete the surveys being sent to be seem to be irrelevant to my specifications. *<>*<>*<>*Screening*<>*<>*<>* More often than not I do not get past the screening questions, yet they are taking longer and longer to complete, not only are they lengthier but they also seem to be asking a lot more personal information for their screening, ie: financial income of the household etc - Stuff which isnt necessary for the survey. ...If money talks, it speaks volumes about Ciao's priorities. Sweat out a review of a well-remunerated product, assuming a few dozen reads, and you could earn a pound or two. Usually it's a lot less. If you're like me, you may have spent many hours writing and researching that review. Fill in a survey however, and Ciao might pay you a couple of quid - or more - for 20 minutes' minimal effort. That suggests to me that our responses to surveys matter more to Ciao than our reviews. Other evidence bears this out. The site pulls in most of its new members with the promise of earning cash for surveys. Even I still occasionally get emails with offers like "Join Ciao and win an iPod Nano". Which not only makes me wonder how aware Ciao are of my existence, but also explains why there are thousands of members who have never written a single... Read review
