Suzuki GSX600F - Every home should have one

Advantages: Cost or running, purchase and parts, practicality
Disadvantages: Engine Access, some say looks

Suzuki GSXR600 K5

Advantages: Very quick, looks good in black and silver, handles beautifully
Disadvantages: Licence taker

...Well what can I say the GSXR 600 K5, probabaly one of the best of the series. I got mine for £5000, second hand 3 months old 400 miles on the clock, the bloke I got it from was scared of it, wanted a quick sale to buy a bandit 600 again. WHY???? A beautifully well balanced machine pushing out about 110 to 115 bhp and a top speed of about 155-160mph. (I have had 153mph out of mine, tested and tagged in a speed trap). This machine will take your licence from you you have been warned. You can change the exhaust without worring about setting up the carbs, I love electronic ingition and injection valves. The bike does the work for you. Petrol tank holds about 17 litres, waring light comes on when your getting low, I was 20 miles away from a petrol station and got there ok so plenty of time when the light does come on. Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa

Advantages: every thing
Disadvantages: none

...ride it and would not recomend it for any learners. be carefull if you are at the lights and want to just get infront of a car on my old gsx750 this was easy and i just speed away in first and think nothing of it - on the busa you give it too much and you will find yourself starring at the sky trying to get the front wheel back down. all in all the Suzuki Hayabusa is a great touring machine that gives the best handling, a great deal of confort and a feeling of safety which is hard to describe why with a rocket strapped to you but it is just an amazing machine. I have a big weekend planned for it now and am looking forward to watching it eat through allot more K's on the way....

Susuki GSXR-750. The Hooligans weapon of choice!!!

Advantages: Speed, handling, reliability, snarly exhaust note.
Disadvantages: Maybe not quite as stylish looking as some other bikes.

...Susuki GSXR-750. The Hooligans weapon of choice!!! Previous to buying my Gixxer 750 three years ago I owned a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja 600. I ended up having no end of expensive problems with the Kawasaki and in the end I part-exchanged the bike for a brand new Suzuki GSXR-750 K5 model. I bought my bike as the new model was coming out so I got a hefty discount on it. You can pick one of these up for about £4000 now. Which is good considering that they are known for their bomb-proof engines so you shouldn?t get any problems. TeaPot zzzzzzz But does the job

.... The GSX600-F may have a slight sports bike look but the seating position is very comfortable as you sit almost upright (almost tourer style). Even though your riding position is quiet high fitting a double bubble screen takes all the wind blast away from you and the faring itself is very good for diverting the wind blast away from the rider. From floor to seat its 770(ish mm) so its not a bike for the very short rider as there is only a tiny amount height of adjustment. The turning circle is also poor so she can take some serious man handling to get into a tight storage space. What makes it harder is that the GSX600-F may look sporty(ish) but she is damm heavy. So put the weight and bad turning circle together and you had better be in good physical shape. There is no center stand either which I would havethough was a must on a bike of this...

This Teapot is my cup of tea!

Advantages: More "oomph" than the GS500
Disadvantages: Adding a rack and top box mucks up the aerodynamics a bit!

...Introduction: Well despite my love for the GS500 that I rode happily for just over two years (see review), I decided the time had come to get a bike with a bit more "oomph". Not that I wanted to race at high speed all over the place, but it is nice to have that extra bit of acceleration to get you out of trouble sometimes or to pull away quickly! Choosing a bike: I didn't want an out and out sports bike so had a look around and came up with a "preferred" list as follows: Yamaha Fazer; Honda Hornet; Triumph Bonneville (new version); Suzuki GSX 600F. Once, twice, three times a bike

The Bike The day I passed my test, I bought a brand new CBR600F/sport, which was restricted by the shop. A few weeks later I had some unwanted attention from a Renault Clio and ended up getting another CBR through insurance. I won't go on about the CBR in too much detail, but I will use it to compare to the GSX-R 600. In August 2003, I got rid of my CBR and bought a second hand GSX-R 600 K1 model. The person who sold me the bike had really looked after her and it had only done 2000 miles in 2 years. The GSX-R was pronounced the 'track bike' of the 600 class in the magazine reviews. Nice Bike Shame About the Pace

Advantages: good styling, easy servicing, light handling, body positioning
Disadvantages: brakes, gutless topend, soft suspension, clunky gears around town, overpriced

...I passed my bike test about ten years ago, cutting my teeth on a Honda CBR600RR which just blew me away for speed, performance, handling & braking. However, due to change of jobs and the need to lug laptops around with me for work I sold the bike and opted for a 4 wheel boxmobile and have stayed thay way ever since....much to my shame. Good compromise between sports/street

Advantages: price, handling, comfort, maintenance, design
Disadvantages: wear & tear, speed, gearbox clanky, rear tyre doesn't like the wet

...After spending 12 years riding middling commuter bikes from Kawasaki I felt it was time to move on to something a little more in the MPH department as well as try a different manufacturer. Ive ridden the top supersports bikes including the Fireblade, Blackbird, Ninjas etc, and even though I got plenty of rushes from the sheer acceleration and handling I felt they were just alittle too handy for bimbling around the twisty streets of Birmingham. ...The GSX600F. To some folk the very name elicits smirks, winks and nudges and conjures up images of teapots - apparently owing to its sculpting. To others it means real value for money biking with low buying and running costs. So how do I rate this questionable piece of motorcycling heritage? Read on! This was my first bike after passing my bike test in 1996. I bought it for £2500 back then and that was a bit over the odds but I didn't know better.
