Suzuki GSX600F - Every home should have one
Review of Suzuki GSX600-F by  Speedi01

Advantages: Cost or running, purchase and parts, practicality
Disadvantages: Engine Access, some say looks

...I first came into the possesion of my 1997 Suzuki GSXF600 in 2001.. For a quite suprisinng £1195.00. I had just come off of a Yamaha XJ600 (literally) which I found a brilliant bike, which the press also underated, after looking through the local RAG the Suzuki caught my eye and I decided to try another one of the biking press' snub jobs. BAD POINTS When I first got it back to my little bike museum in my back garden the first thing that I found was the poor finish on the engine casing, front forks and the rear swingarm... although this is a classic weathering problem I have heard that it is common with these. I took the time and re-did what suzuki should have done properly and it looks a treat. The front end is a bit heavy, its something that I have heard from every owner, you only really notice it in the corners and when you... Read review

This Teapot is my cup of tea!
Review of Suzuki GSX600-F by  Odysseus4

Advantages: More "oomph" than the GS500
Disadvantages: Adding a rack and top box mucks up the aerodynamics a bit!

...Introduction: Well despite my love for the GS500 that I rode happily for just over two years (see review), I decided the time had come to get a bike with a bit more "oomph". Not that I wanted to race at high speed all over the place, but it is nice to have that extra bit of acceleration to get you out of trouble sometimes or to pull away quickly! Choosing a bike: I didn't want an out and out sports bike so had a look around and came up with a "preferred" list as follows: Yamaha Fazer; Honda Hornet; Triumph Bonneville (new version); Suzuki GSX 600F. Well I sat on the Fazer at the NEC and it felt good, definitely a possibility. Then I knew someone shorter than me with a Hornet who loved it and found it OK for her, so that was also on the cards. I really liked the idea of a British bike but the Bonneville isn't fared... Read review

Undiscovered Treasure
Review of Suzuki GSX750-W by  goo5e

Advantages: Comfort, Reliablity, Economical, Price
Disadvantages: no body seems to like them

...I have had my GSX750F for 3 years now, it’s a 2001 K1 model in black. The GSXF bike (600 and 750) has never really been popular with most bikers, the look is an acquired taste and it regularly gets a good slating on the biking forums. The Fairing on this bike differs from other sports bikes as it flows from front to back in one line whereas all other sports bikes stop when the bodywork gets as far as your legs. Don’t be put off this bike by other peoples prejudices, Its no where near as bad as they all make out, it just looks a little different. Performance : The 750 develops about 95bhp, this is ample power to take you to a quarter mile in just over 11 seconds and carry on to a top speed of over 140mph ( more than you need on our uneven roads ). The power below 4000 rpm is a little flat but after this it delivers all the way... Read review

Teapot's are go................
Review of Suzuki GSX750-W by  nigel_t

Advantages: Best kept secret in the biking world
Disadvantages: Could use bigger rear tyre profile

...As a born again biker a I was looking for a cruiser to potter around on in my twilight years (Well, fast approaching 40 at least!!). Read all the bike press I could get my hands on and tested a whole range of bikes. I rode the Suzuki VL1500 which looks GREAT but rides like a brick!! So back to the drawing board. Then along came the opportunity to go for a blast on a GSX750F. Oh ok but it isnt what I am looking for and it gets really bad press. WOW!! Have the 'experts' who write reviews about bikes in the press actually ridden this thing? I think not!! Off to my local bike shop and strike a deal on a new one in Cherry Red. And what a deal, £750 off advertised price with free service and 12 months road tax. Ok so it isnt a 'race thoroughbred' as so many are these days. But what it is is a 150mph sport tourer. If you want... Read review

My baby, just after my wife ...
Review of Suzuki GSX750-W by  getroman

Advantages: all of the thing u can think...
Disadvantages: No one

...Ciaonautes, hello... I have just bought a little marvel of the road to me. Small Suzuki 750 Gsx-f, models year 2001, of ashed blue color, of occasion, 20000 kms for 6000€. It is my first motor bike, just has just had the so much coveted licence. AND that is there, I can finally go up above without being likely to find me between 2 gendarmes has to try to explain to them why I lead without the licence. Therefore, as at all Suzuki, one switches on, one debraye, and then one start engine, if not, bah it does nothing... A small security on that you do not have a speed of enclanchée, which risks to you couter a motor bike which leaves all alone at best or which falls you above in the worst case (and believe me, 220 kg on you, that to be done sore...) Ignition... Titititi... Brouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.. Not... Read review

GSX Alternative
Review of Suzuki GSX750-W by  luckystar

Advantages: Great individual looks, brill handling!
Disadvantages: Seen as the GSX "Teapot" tourer (NOT true!!)

...Only recently have i learned to ride a motorbike after four years of nagging my boyfriend (yes - i'm a girl!) I thought the GSX750W would be like its counterpart the R model and be a tad too quick to bite if i did anything wrong, but this bike is very forgiving. The clutch has to be tweeked in order to get the front wheel in the air (I have tried very hard!). Top performance bandit lookalike but very unique, and light enough for us weedy girls to handle. The best thing about this bike however, is the price....a snip at just £3,600!! Great starter bike, which also gives you the experience of handling a bigger, faster bike! Not as popular as they should be, and sound great with a can!! For those who spend most of the time two up....great big comfy seat, in a brill position that shields you from the wind, although the back... Read review

Unleash the Animal
Review of Suzuki GSX-R750 by  tayloa22

Advantages: all the fun of a 600, WITH MUCH MORE POWER!!!!!!
Disadvantages: Not quite as good finish as Honda's

...Suzuki GSX-R750- A Review By Addy Having been an ardent dedicated Honda man for the majority of my biking life, I actually relented and bought a Suzuki GSX-R 750. I was definitely looking for a step up from super-sport 600's, after having 3 different models of CBR 600. I was giving serious contemplation to two other bikes at this time which were Aprilia RSV Millie, or a Honda CBR 900 Fireblade. However, after much deliberation and friend's recommendations, I went for the Suzuki. This was based on the judgement that you get the best of both worlds combining raw 750 power in a 600 chassis. The first Gixer 750 was released in 1985 and has undergone periodical changes since then. THE LOOK As in the picture above I purchased mine in the typical blue and white Gixer colours. In standard form the bike is aesthetically pleasing... Read review

Once, twice, three times a bike
Review of Suzuki GSX-R600 by  Goran

Advantages: good handling, comfortable, a lot of boot space,
Disadvantages: It is considerably larger looking than the competitors

.... Having been 17 at the time I took my test, I had no option but to take the 125 restricted licence option. The Bike The day I passed my test, I bought a brand new CBR600F/sport, which was restricted by the shop. A few weeks later I had some unwanted attention from a Renault Clio and ended up getting another CBR through insurance. I won't go on about the CBR in too much detail, but I will use it to compare to the GSX-R 600. In August 2003, I got rid of my CBR and bought a second hand GSX-R 600 K1 model. The person who sold me the bike had really looked after her and it had only done 2000 miles in 2 years. The GSX-R was pronounced the 'track bike' of the 600 class in the magazine reviews. This is mainly because Suzuki concentrated on the handling and power delivery of the bike, rather than looks and general town riding. It is because... Read review

Mine's an Earl Grey - read on....
Review of Suzuki GSX600-F by  martinlross

Advantages: Cheap, Comfy, Practicable, Tough
Disadvantages: Image, Cheap

...The GSX600F. To some folk the very name elicits smirks, winks and nudges and conjures up images of teapots - apparently owing to its sculpting. To others it means real value for money biking with low buying and running costs. So how do I rate this questionable piece of motorcycling heritage? Read on! This was my first bike after passing my bike test in 1996. I bought it for £2500 back then and that was a bit over the odds but I didn't know better. It had a lovely paint scheme (metallic blue with Lucky Strike logos) and was mistaken, even by hardened sports bike fanatics, for something more than it was. But this paint scheme was there for a reason! Once home my prize and joy was stripped to see what lay beneath that vast expanse of plastic. Exhibit A - two majorly patched up and stitched together panels. Beautifully done... Read review

Good compromise between sports/street
Review of Suzuki GSX600-F by  Sonatine

Advantages: price, handling, comfort, maintenance, design
Disadvantages: wear & tear, speed, gearbox clanky, rear tyre doesn't like the wet

...After spending 12 years riding middling commuter bikes from Kawasaki I felt it was time to move on to something a little more in the MPH department as well as try a different manufacturer. Ive ridden the top supersports bikes including the Fireblade, Blackbird, Ninjas etc, and even though I got plenty of rushes from the sheer acceleration and handling I felt they were just alittle too handy for bimbling around the twisty streets of Birmingham. What I wanted, therefore, was a nice compromise, so I opted for the Suzuki GSX600F back in 98. It had mixed reviews in the press, most criticism being directed at its slightly ugly design and relatively mild engine. But in spite of that it was generally well received so I decided to give it a go. Two years on and I'm still finding out new things from it. Yeah sure with only 90 ponies... Read review
