GSX Alternative
Review of Suzuki GSX750-W by
luckystar
Advantages: Great individual looks, brill handling!
Disadvantages: Seen as the GSX "Teapot" tourer (NOT true!!)
...Only recently have i learned to ride a motorbike after four years of nagging my boyfriend (yes - i'm a girl!) I thought the GSX750W would be like its counterpart the R model and be a tad too quick to bite if i did anything wrong, but this bike is very forgiving. The clutch has to be tweeked in order to get the front wheel in the air (I have tried very hard!). Top performance bandit lookalike but very unique, and light enough for us weedy girls to handle. The best thing about this bike however, is the price....a snip at just £3,600!! Great starter bike, which also gives you the experience of handling a bigger, faster bike! Not as popular as they should be, and sound great with a can!!
For those who spend most of the time two up....great big comfy seat, in a brill position that shields you from the wind, although the back...

1998 model hates the cold
Review of Suzuki GSX-R750 by
dan916
Advantages: Speed, power, sex-appeal
Disadvantages: Very, very few!
..., well, I've found two methods:
1. Purchase some Fuchs Silkolene Pro FST fuel additive to reduce the water content, but at £9 a bottle, it could be seen as costly solution.
2. Use some quality gaffer tape, and tape over the inside of the SRAD vents on the front of the bike for the winter. Not only is this a cheap solution, it is something you can do yourself, and something that is proven to work. I've been doing this since the breakdown, and have had no problems at all.
So, if any other Suzuki owners out there have had this problem, then hopefully this solution will be of use. It is also pleasing to add that this has been
the only fault found this winter, with the bike starting and running as if it were summer throughout.
All I can say to finish is that i can't wait until the warm weather returns and I can begin to use my GSX-R...

Unleash the Beast....
Review of Suzuki GSX-R600 by
ccaadaw
Advantages: Sexy Looks with Race Bred performance, at low cost!
Disadvantages: Petrol Guzzler!
...I have been riding motorbikes since I was old enough and ugly enough to consider it. I have now managed to gather enough money together to buy a Suzuki GSX-R600. Some may say that it is too much for an 18 year old to handle, but I would have to disagree, and say that I have never had so much fun with my clothes on!
It has sexy looks combined with top quality performance. It is lightweight, easy to flick into corners, and easy to lift the front wheel whilst being chunky and overall a fat bike!
I have owned the bike for five weeks and can't keep my butt off the seat! Not to mention the front wheel on the floor, this beast (with a road permitting) can power its way into fourth gear from low down in first on the back wheel! ;o)
However, the only problem is that of the Cam chain, most if not all slightly earlier models need to undergo a cam...

Here comes the summer!
Review of Kawasaki ZX6R by
clivefallon
Advantages: Looks Speed Handling Accelleration
Disadvantages: Gear Changing and Comfort
...After learning to ride and riding an old Kawasaki GT550 (briefly I moved on to a Suzuki GSX750. This was a beast but nothing compared to my 2004 Kawasaki ZX6r 636. From the moment I set eyes on the bike sitting in the shop I loved it. It just looked mean, it's sharp headlights and gold grilled air intake between the front lights and the standard bubble growled out to be bought. So a short test ride later saw me return with a small deposit and my leathers. The bike is truly amazing. From it's accelleration, speed and handling, to it's good looks, smart engine and querky toys such as the lap timer and gear change light make this bike something I have only ever dreamt about. For me, finding such a good bike wasn't easy. I'm 6'2 and approx 18 stone but the 636 handles like a dream, out pacing many bigger bikes due to it's weight...

Advantages: all the fun of a 600, WITH MUCH MORE POWER!!!!!!
Disadvantages: Not quite as good finish as Honda's
...Suzuki GSX-R750- A Review By Addy
Having been an ardent dedicated Honda man for the majority of my biking life, I actually relented and bought a Suzuki GSX-R 750. I was definitely looking for a step up from super-sport 600's, after having 3 different models of CBR 600. I was giving serious contemplation to two other bikes at this time which were Aprilia RSV Millie, or a Honda CBR 900 Fireblade. However, after much deliberation and friend's recommendations, I went for the Suzuki. This was based on the judgement that you get the best of both worlds combining raw 750 power in a 600 chassis. The first Gixer 750 was released in 1985 and has undergone periodical changes since then.
THE LOOK
As in the picture above I purchased mine in the typical blue and white Gixer colours. In standard form the bike is aesthetically pleasing and ultra...

Once, twice, three times a bike
Review of Suzuki GSX-R600 by
Goran
Advantages: good handling, comfortable, a lot of boot space,
Disadvantages: It is considerably larger looking than the competitors
...17 at the time I took my test, I had no option but to take the 125 restricted licence option.
The Bike
The day I passed my test, I bought a brand new CBR600F/sport, which was restricted by the shop. A few weeks later I had some unwanted attention from a Renault Clio and ended up getting another CBR through insurance. I won't go on about the CBR in too much detail, but I will use it to compare to the GSX-R 600.
In August 2003, I got rid of my CBR and bought a second hand GSX-R 600 K1 model. The person who sold me the bike had really looked after her and it had only done 2000 miles in 2 years.
The GSX-R was pronounced the 'track bike' of the 600 class in the magazine reviews. This is mainly because Suzuki concentrated on the handling and power delivery of the bike, rather than looks and general town riding. It is because...

My Return to Sportbikes
Review of Honda Interceptor by
syoungs
Advantages: Versatility
Disadvantages: Lack of low end power delivery
.... The bars are just high enough to take a lot of pressure off of my aging back, and the seat was tolerable for my 5'7" companion. I still don't understand why more bikes don't have clocks on them like the VFR, and the 5.8 gal tank allows for pretty good range.
I've had the VFR for 3 weeks now and can tell you that no matter what Honda says - it's not a true sport bike even though there's a turbo-like boost at 7000 RPMs when the 3rd and 4th valves open up. It's a very competent overall bike and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a single bike to commute, play, and cruise, but a crotch rocket it ain't.
If you're looking for extreme handling get a GSX-R750 or a CBR600F4. If you're looking for extreme speed get a Hayabusa. If you're looking for a great starter bike get a Honda Shadow in the 550cc class or a Suzuki GZ250 (don...

Teapot's are go................
Review of Suzuki GSX750-W by
nigel_t
Advantages: Best kept secret in the biking world
Disadvantages: Could use bigger rear tyre profile
...As a born again biker a I was looking for a cruiser to potter around on in my twilight years (Well, fast approaching 40 at least!!).
Read all the bike press I could get my hands on and tested a whole range of bikes. I rode the Suzuki VL1500 which looks GREAT but rides like a brick!!
So back to the drawing board. Then along came the opportunity to go for a blast on a GSX750F. Oh ok but it isnt what I am looking for and it gets really bad press.
WOW!!
Have the 'experts' who write reviews about bikes in the press actually ridden this thing? I think not!!
Off to my local bike shop and strike a deal on a new one in Cherry Red. And what a deal, £750 off advertised price with free service and 12 months road tax.
Ok so it isnt a 'race thoroughbred' as so many are these days. But what it is is a 150mph sport tourer. If you want to be able...

Hey, abuse 'er!
Review of Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa by
Beatmonster
Advantages: Fast, Comfortable
Disadvantages: Uglier than a box of frogs
...for today is to ride around the Amalfi coast road, a wonderful array of twisty bits that hug the Italian coastline south of Naples.
The Suzuki purrs along, and the weight appears to drop off as the revs rise. Before long we're on the autostrada leading to the coast, and the Bus is howling along at some illegal speed without any bother at all, thank you. The real test will come in the bends, but at the moment, she's a very enjoyable ride, smooth, comfortable, and effortless.
A single flash of the phaser beam masquerading as a headlight sends the odd dawdling car scuttling for the middle lane when the bulk of the Suzi appears in the wing mirror, and we reach the coast road with no troubles. Now for some serious scratching...
Now this is a revelation. The damn thing actually goes around corners! I expected this bike to be another evil...
