...Well what can I say the GSXR 600 K5, probabaly one of the best of the series. I got mine for £5000, second hand 3 months old 400 miles on the clock, the bloke I got it from was scared of it, wanted a quick sale to buy a bandit 600 again. WHY???? A beautifully well balanced machine pushing out about 110 to 115 bhp and a top speed of about 155-160mph. (I have had 153mph out of mine, tested and tagged in a speed trap). This machine will take your licence from you you have been warned. You can change the exhaust without worring about setting up the carbs, I love electronic ingition and injection valves. The bike does the work for you. Petrol tank holds about 17 litres, waring light comes on when your getting low, I was 20 miles away from a petrol station and got there ok so plenty of time when the light does come on. The clock... ...I have been riding motorbikes since I was old enough and ugly enough to consider it. I have now managed to gather enough money together to buy a Suzuki GSX-R600. Some may say that it is too much for an 18 year old to handle, but I would have to disagree, and say that I have never had so much fun with my clothes on! It has sexy looks combined with top quality performance. It is lightweight, easy to flick into corners, and easy to lift the front wheel whilst being chunky and overall a fat bike! I have owned the bike for five weeks and can't keep my butt off the seat! Not to mention the front wheel on the floor, this beast (with a road permitting) can power its way into fourth gear from low down in first on the back wheel! ;o) However, the only problem is that of the Cam chain, most if not all slightly earlier models need to undergo... I was definitely looking for a step up from super-sport 600's, after having 3 different models of CBR 600. ...As with most reviews of this bike, I COULD begin by talking about the bike's affinity with the track, but I'd only find myself repeating what has been said numerous times before. Instead, I feel I should talk about a specific problem I have found with the '98 model. My bike has now become my regular commuting bike, travelling around 1000 miles a month to and from outer London. It's been a dream to ride up until recently, when the weather started to turn cold. On a rather cold, windy morning earlier this month my GSX-R finally gave up on me whilst riding to work. The engine cut out as I pulled up to a busy set of traffic lights, the fuel-injection warning light came on, and the bike refused to start again. I had just come off of a Yamaha XJ600 (literally) which I found a brilliant bike, which the press also underated, after looking through the local RAG the Suzuki caught my eye and I decided to try another one of the biking press' snub jobs. BAD POINTS When I first got it back to my little bike museum in my back garden the first thing that I found was the poor finish on the engine casing, front forks and the rear swingarm... although this is a classic weathering problem I have heard that it is common with these. ...I am 26 years old and I have never owned a car. I’m quite proud of that. Instead. I am a motorbike man through and through. And one of those bikes was a GSXR 600 I bought the GSXR 600 second hand for only $1500 (NZ, about $700 US) – which was a very good price. Even though the bike was 10 years old when I got it and had done a few kilometers (or miles, for American readers) already, it still rates as the fastest bike I have ever owned (0-100 in under 5 seconds!). Originally I got the bike because I was moving to Gisborne to study sport and I was looking for something a little bigger than what I currently had, in order to make return trips a little faster. ...This little beauty was the first 4 stoke ive owned. I had a break of a few years after riding rev happy tuned 2 strokes, so I decided to go for a light weight 600…. the best on the market was the Gixxer 6. Speed is fantastic, if your not used to speed beware this little baby WILL catch you out. Riding around town for the first week of ownership hurt, I got incredible pain in my wrists and the base of my back felt as if it had fused every time I got off. The pain does go away you have to give the radical riding position a chance you will get used to it. Riding long distance can be as painful, because the bike is “revvy” you will find that the Gixxer can be quite hard work to ride on both long and short distances but this doesn’t matter because when you use the bike for the purpose it was designed... ...If you want a motorcycle that can be comfortable to tour on, yet can also be ridden like a racer, then look no further. My CBR600 out handles any other machine that I’ve ridden, from the ZX6-r's to the GSX-r's in the same class. Nothing wants to corner like the CBR, and A superb engine delivers plenty of low down torque that is consistant all the way to its 13500 rpm redline. The handlebars are not as low as on out and out racers, so there is less wrist strain at low speeds, and the seat is more of a luxury item than your standard plank of wood with a slight covering of cloth! Bridgestone BT56 Tyres on the front and a BT57 on the rear - or even the new OWO1's would defiantly be the combination to go for.... Read review

...will have no sweat. The bike allows for a nice upright cruising set or if you are really out to have fun you can lean over and still be rather comfortable. However when you lean over with the passenger, expect to bump heads a few times as the seat kind of tosses them on to your back when laying over. Any way you choose to ride it though the Bandit will handle like a dream and get you where you want to go with style. Be it to work, a nice fun ride or a tour, it will handle it. Touring brings up an interesting subject, as there are literatly tons of after market accessories available for this bike. Last but not least the reason I finally chose the Bandit. INSURANCE!!! The GSX-R600 was way out there for insurance prices and the GSX Katana 600F was a little less but still rediculous. Then I found the GSF Bandit 600s and Insurance was a few... Read review
