Suzuki GSX600F - Every home should have one
Advantages: Cost or running, purchase and parts, practicality
Disadvantages: Engine Access, some say looks
...I first came into the possesion of my 1997 Suzuki GSXF600 in 2001.. For a quite suprisinng £1195.00.
I had just come off of a Yamaha XJ600 (literally) which I found a brilliant bike, which the press also underated, after looking through the local RAG the Suzuki caught my eye and I decided to try another one of the biking press' snub jobs.
BAD POINTS
When I first got it back to my little bike museum in my back garden the first thing that I found was the poor finish on the engine casing, front forks and the rear swingarm... although this is a classic weathering problem I have heard that it is common with these. I took the time and re-did what suzuki should have done properly and it looks a treat.
The front end is a bit heavy, its something that I have heard from every owner, you only really notice it in the corners and when you are...

This Teapot is my cup of tea!
Advantages: More "oomph" than the GS500
Disadvantages: Adding a rack and top box mucks up the aerodynamics a bit!
...Introduction:
Well despite my love for the GS500 that I rode happily for just over two years (see review), I decided the time had come to get a bike with a bit more "oomph". Not that I wanted to race at high speed all over the place, but it is nice to have that extra bit of acceleration to get you out of trouble sometimes or to pull away quickly!
Choosing a bike:
I didn't want an out and out sports bike so had a look around and came up with a "preferred" list as follows:
Yamaha Fazer;
Honda Hornet;
Triumph Bonneville (new version);
Suzuki GSX 600F.
Well I sat on the Fazer at the NEC and it felt good, definitely a possibility. Then I knew someone shorter than me with a Hornet who loved it and found it OK for her, so that was also on the cards. I really liked the idea of a British bike but the Bonneville isn't fared...

TeaPot zzzzzzz But does the job
Advantages: Comfy, Good Tank Range
Disadvantages: Dull, Heavy, zzzzzz
....
The GSX600-F may have a slight sports bike look but the seating position is very comfortable as you sit almost upright (almost tourer style). Even though your riding position is quiet high fitting a double bubble screen takes all the wind blast away from you and the faring itself is very good for diverting the wind blast away from the rider.
From floor to seat its 770(ish mm) so its not a bike for the very short rider as there is only a tiny amount height of adjustment.
The turning circle is also poor so she can take some serious man handling to get into a tight storage space. What makes it harder is that the GSX600-F may look sporty(ish) but she is damm heavy. So put the weight and bad turning circle together and you had better be in good physical shape. There is no center stand either which I would havethough was a must on a bike of this...

Nice Bike Shame About the Pace
Advantages: good styling, easy servicing, light handling, body positioning
Disadvantages: brakes, gutless topend, soft suspension, clunky gears around town, overpriced
...I passed my bike test about ten years ago, cutting my teeth on a Honda CBR600RR which just blew me away for speed, performance, handling & braking.
However, due to change of jobs and the need to lug laptops around with me for work I sold the bike and opted for a 4 wheel boxmobile and have stayed thay way ever since....much to my shame.
However, my boyfriend is a bit of a biker at heart cus he find cars a tad mundane...except of course when its raining or he wants a few bits of shopping brought back home...bit of a different story then, but never mind:o)
Anyway, he's had a number of streetbikes over the years and is currently shackled with a 3 year Suzi GSX600-F.
Although having the design of a supersports I'm afraid one shouldn't judge books by covers cus unfortunately the engine plays a rather different tune.
As soon as I...

Good compromise between sports/street
Advantages: price, handling, comfort, maintenance, design
Disadvantages: wear & tear, speed, gearbox clanky, rear tyre doesn't like the wet
...After spending 12 years riding middling commuter bikes from Kawasaki I felt it was time to move on to something a little more in the MPH department as well as try a different manufacturer.
Ive ridden the top supersports bikes including the Fireblade, Blackbird, Ninjas etc, and even though I got plenty of rushes from the sheer acceleration and handling I felt they were just alittle too handy for bimbling around the twisty streets of Birmingham.
What I wanted, therefore, was a nice compromise, so I opted for the Suzuki GSX600F back in 98. It had mixed reviews in the press, most criticism being directed at its slightly ugly design and relatively mild engine.
But in spite of that it was generally well received so I decided to give it a go. Two years on and I'm still finding out new things from it. Yeah sure with only 90 ponies in...

Mine's an Earl Grey - read on....
Advantages: Cheap, Comfy, Practicable, Tough
Disadvantages: Image, Cheap
...The GSX600F. To some folk the very name elicits smirks, winks and nudges and conjures up images of teapots - apparently owing to its sculpting. To others it means real value for money biking with low buying and running costs. So how do I rate this questionable piece of motorcycling heritage? Read on!
This was my first bike after passing my bike test in 1996. I bought it for £2500 back then and that was a bit over the odds but I didn't know better.
It had a lovely paint scheme (metallic blue with Lucky Strike logos) and was mistaken, even by hardened sports bike fanatics, for something more than it was. But this paint scheme was there for a reason! Once home my prize and joy was stripped to see what lay beneath that vast expanse of plastic. Exhibit A - two majorly patched up and stitched together panels. Beautifully done no...

Short Live Susuki
Advantages: Fair deals
Disadvantages: Many including carefree staff
...EDITED*EDITED*EDITED*EDITED
Susuki today are becoming more and more wide spread but less known. We alaways remember thosestylish 4x4's with the bulky tyres which many of us loved.
However. Go to a dealer now and they also specialize in cars.
THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL THE YOUNG AND VERY NICE PEOPLE OUT THERE LOOKING FOR A NEW CAR!
If you know me well here at Ciao, you'd know that I am crazy for taking new cars out on the road known as a testdrive.
BUT WAIT. Thats not the case here.
I was simply on my way to a friends when I walked past and noticed a used car they were selling dead cheap. It was a Ford Fiesta, S-reg for £4,995. It looked like a bargain so I walked over and started to take a look.
Though. by the way! They do sell approved and used cars, but I think thats a good thing, so thats one good hand to...

Suzuki SV650(s) : Simply..a damn good bike
Advantages: Light, economical, easy to ride and fun. Comfortable too.
Disadvantages: Sound with standard can! Niggly quality issues..
...by 6-12mm to keep rake the same.
It's very light as well, it took me a while to learn to ride it after coming from a Z750.. like it just turns in and I ended up having to sit up to get back on line :D
Reliability
Some issues with the curvy SV models are just silly, such as a clutch cover that can weep oil as it warps over time. It's made of plastic so what do you expect? Can be replaced with a metal one from woodcraft or a new plastic one, although the issue will come back after a while. When replacing a plastic cover with a new one, be sure to apply some Suzuki bond around the join to be sure it won't happen again, along with a new o-ring. Other than that it's a very durable engine and lasts forever, just keep it serviced ETC ETC.
Practicality
Fuel range is anything between 110 and 220 miles depending on how you...

Suzuki Gn125
Advantages: fuel economy, price
Disadvantages: corrosion, depreciation, acceleration, top speed
...The original intention was to by a Suzuki Van Van. However, I took my CBT on a GN125 and decided that it wouldn't be a bad first bike to learn on. It's also significantly cheaper than a Van Van and top speed is higher.
Bought the bike new back in April 2006 for £1400. The bike was a grey import - Suzuki no longer officially supply this bike to the UK market. As a result the speedometer is in km/h which is a little annoying. That's the only difference that I am aware of from a standard UK bike. I used the bike daily until recently to ride too and from the station.
The bike rides quite well bearing in mind its size. Acceleration is obviously poor compared to a bigger bike but not as bad as you might think. It could certainly outrun the average car from standstill. It really starts to struggle once you get up to 50mph...

Suzuki Alto 2009 Zh4, an ALTOunative to the Hyundai i10?
Advantages: Much better looking than the i10, Very cheap to run, Spacious interior, Reasonably well appointed
Disadvantages: Lack of power in 3rd gear at low speed, A boot would be a nice addition
...Suzuki`s new Alto has everything you need for A-B travel at a bargain price, the basic model comes with electric windows, power steering and ABS. Pretty standard for a modern car I know but let’s face it other manufactures will have these as more expensive options. Most reviews you will read compare the Alto to the Hyundai i10; I think this is fair so I will do the same.
The i10 comes with a more complete basic package and nice little additions like rear discs brakes the Alto also is without a proper glove box for storage ot Sat Nav etc.
The Alto also lacks the adjustable rear seats of other small cars like the Twingo, if you think about it though an “adjusted” rear seat is no longer a seat due to lack of leg room.
As far as ride goes I test drove the i10 and found it quite harsh compared with the Alto.
The Alto has sharp (maybe too...
