Suzuki GP125 Racer

Advantages: Rotary inlet valve, Large cooling fins.
Disadvantages: Big gap between 2nd and 3rd.

...Suzuki GP125's make great junior gp racers F4 here in New Zealand. We race F4 and F5 (50's) on go-kart tracks and longer GP tracks. My own GP125 runs on 17" rims and is shod with Honda RS125 GP slicks. Frame is braced, racing seat and clipons. The barrel is skimmed 1.75mm and "O" ringed. Port timing is Ex opens 86 (short track) and 83 degrees (long track) ATDC Transfers 114 degrees ATDC and inlet timing is opens 145 BTDC and closes 55 (short track) 85 (long track) ATDC. Runs an expansion chamber modelled on the 84 RM125 spec's and because of the rough and tumble (close racing and many crashes) of racing to the limit on go-cart tracks the pipe is made out of 1.25mm material and rigidly mounted so it does not get munched easily in a crash. F4 125 two strokes are limited to air cooling and a single 24mm carb. It is putting out...

Suzuki Gn125

Advantages: fuel economy, price
Disadvantages: corrosion, depreciation, acceleration, top speed

...The original intention was to by a Suzuki Van Van. However, I took my CBT on a GN125 and decided that it wouldn't be a bad first bike to learn on. It's also significantly cheaper than a Van Van and top speed is higher. Bought the bike new back in April 2006 for £1400. The bike was a grey import - Suzuki no longer officially supply this bike to the UK market. As a result the speedometer is in km/h which is a little annoying. That's the only difference that I am aware of from a standard UK bike. I used the bike daily until recently to ride too and from the station. The bike rides quite well bearing in mind its size. Acceleration is obviously poor compared to a bigger bike but not as bad as you might think. It could certainly outrun the average car from standstill. It really starts to struggle once you get up to 50mph...

Suzuki GS125 - Learner legal fun !

Advantages: Small, light, cheap, cheap to run, comfortable
Disadvantages: low powered and parts may be harder to get

...This will be an ongoing review as I have just passed my CBT and bought one of these little commuters. The longer I own it the more I will add. ~ CBT ~ For those who don't know, anyone wishing to ride a moped or motorcycle has to sit a CBT to ride on the road. It stands for Compulsory Basic Training, if you don't pass it will be because they think you are not fit/safe to ride on road. There are two types of bikes you can ride, a moped or a motorcycle, Majority of people learn on a bike up to the engine size of 125cc but if you are over 21 you could do it on a larger machine. After completing my training on a Yamaha SR 125 I picked up my little Suzuki GS125 and drove it 180 miles back to my house (so this is where most of my review will come from). ~ The bike ~ At first glance it's nothing special but...

GP125 - Great first bike

Advantages: Cheap, economical, lots of fun
Disadvantages: Dodgy electrics & prone to rust

...The GP125 is a small 125cc 2-stroke, single cylinder road bike which was made by Suzuki during the late 70s through the late 80s and puts out around 12bhp. It?s pretty basic mechanically speaking, consisting of a kick-start only motor with a single piston and shabby 6 volt electrics. My GP is great. Admittedly through rose-tinted specs as it?s my first bike, but for what it is ? a hack, I doubt I could have bought better at the time. It?s definitely given me some problems; partly down to my own daftness and lack of mechanical know-how, and partly down to its own quirks and foibles, of which it has its fair share. The fact that it was made in 1988 no doubt has something to do with it. All the trouble in the world, though, is worth the grin it puts on my face. I bought it in February 2002 for £450 ? I winced a little at the price...

suzuki GN 125 learner bike

Advantages: very good on fuel very comfortable easy to ride perfect for the learner
Disadvantages: No faring so warm clothing is necessary

...This is a very very good bike for the learner. Great handling easy controls unbelievable fuel consumption (a full tank (£6) last for a long time) quite fast for a 125 I have had 75mph out of mine and will pull 60mph on flat no trouble 50mph up a steep hill and will accelerate up hills as well unlike most scooters. The acceleration is not the best but will still beat some cars off the mark. This bike sounds great! Much better than these 50cc hair dryers on the road. Looks are not to everyone?s taste as there is no fairing so will get a bit nippy in the winter months. Starts first time every time although the choke does come in handy. A bad point is that there is no kick-start, not that it needs it but it could be very useful. The lights are not as good as a car but better than a scooter you can still see where you are going and all in...

Best 125cc Motorcycle

Advantages: Loads
Disadvantages: Less than all other 125cc Motorcycles

...I have a Honda CG125, 2005 year, owned from new I could tell you how good the bike is, like nearly every review of the bike. But I do not wish to bore you with another identical review saying exactly the same. I was amazed to find no websites that support the Honda CG125, so I have created one. http://hondacg125.awardspace.com/ If you like my website, please rate this review as high as possible, since it's the best way for people to find my website using the search engines (else website will be hard to find). I could write a very large review of the bike, since I am an experienced rider, I past my test over 10 years ago and have had several bikes, I have also done over 10,000 miles on the bike, including many trips between 150 and 250 miles in a day. I have also been reading everything I can about the Honda CG125...

Better Than A Moped

Advantages: Good "commuter"; rideable on a car license
Disadvantages: Doesn't like the cold; top speed 55-60mph

...WHY HAVE I GOT A MOTORBIKE? I haven't told many people this but I feel quite happy telling the Ciao community for some reason. About five years I had a panic attack on a train: sweat, hyperventilation, sense of claustrophobia - the works. It got stuck in a tunnel for an hour and something in me just couldn't take it. I've never stepped on a train or tube since, but I am willing to work on that for the sake of the kids. So I looked for alternative methods of getting from Bexleyheath in Kent to London's West End. Bicycle: 28 mile round trip would kill me back in those days; bus: two hours at least. So I investigated the possibility of, and purchased a scooter/moped. 18 months ago I bought a Suzuki GN125 and I've never looked back. WHO CAN RIDE ONE? Anyone with a full UK driving license, so over 16's. It's officially a 124...

Aprilia RS125 .

Advantages: Probably the fastest standard 125 available.
Disadvantages: Cost of the bikes.

...Well where do i start with this fantastic peace of Italian engineering. When i was 16 i used to own a scooter (50cc) which was pants by the way! so when i turned 17 i decided i wanted a 125 until i passed my driving test to drive a car. So i had a look about at a few bikes on the net and i was either going to buy a one of these chinese imports, brand new for around £1000 or buy a second hand well known make bike for about the same price. Then i seen these aprilia rs125 bikes and had herd by a lot of people that they were the fastest 125's you can get so i looked into it a bit more then decided i wanted one, not long after searching for one in my price range i found one on EBay for 2000 model for £450 i think it was but it had a few days left but i wanted to go and view the bike so my dad took me to view it with the cash just in case...

fiesta mk5 1.25

Advantages: nippy and easy to drive
Disadvantages: not alot of leg room for rear passengers

...I bought this car just under a year ago second hand. Bought the car for 1100. The car is very nippy for a 1.25 engine, can keep up with the more powerful engines. The car is very nice looking inside and out. Plenty space in the boot. The space in the front is pretty good for a small car but the space in the back for the passenger isn't to good especially if you have a long legged person in the front. The cars a very reliable, not had any problems with mine and if you do need part you can get the fairly cheap from scrap yard, also the mk4 is very similar so alot of stuff can be used off them. Its easy to manoevre and park. Tax and insurance is low for this car as well, so this is good for the 1st time drivers or someone who needs a car to get them to work and back and to do sum shopping. Modifying is easy to do on this car, i have...

Short Live Susuki

Advantages: Fair deals
Disadvantages: Many including carefree staff

...EDITED*EDITED*EDITED*EDITED Susuki today are becoming more and more wide spread but less known. We alaways remember thosestylish 4x4's with the bulky tyres which many of us loved. However. Go to a dealer now and they also specialize in cars. THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL THE YOUNG AND VERY NICE PEOPLE OUT THERE LOOKING FOR A NEW CAR! If you know me well here at Ciao, you'd know that I am crazy for taking new cars out on the road known as a testdrive. BUT WAIT. Thats not the case here. I was simply on my way to a friends when I walked past and noticed a used car they were selling dead cheap. It was a Ford Fiesta, S-reg for £4,995. It looked like a bargain so I walked over and started to take a look. Though. by the way! They do sell approved and used cars, but I think thats a good thing, so thats one good hand to...
